All three games can be heard on the Gamecock IMG Network including flagship station, FM, The Game. RANKINGS South Carolina is ranked by four publications. The Gamecocks are No. 20 by the NCBWA, No. 21 by Perfect Game and in the USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 26 by Collegiate Baseball. A LOOK BACK South Carolina went 2-2 last week with wins at The Citadel and Mississippi State. The Gamecocks are with a 6-6 conference mark. The Gamecocks are tied for third in the SEC Eastern Division and fifth in the league overall. THE FLORIDA SERIES South Carolina leads the all-time series history Florida won two of three games last year in Columbia and one game at the SEC Tournament in Hovoer. South Carolina last won the regular season series and last won in Gainesville in K-MART Senior first baseman Kyle Martin continues to perform at a high level. Martin is one of 60 players in the country to be named to USA Baseball s Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List. Martin is hitting.363 (45-for-124) with six homers, nine doubles, 30 runs scored and 35 RBI. He has 21 walks to 12 strikeouts with a.454 on-base percentage and a.597 slugging percentage. Martin is fifth in the SEC in RBI, tied for seventh in total bases, tied for eighth in homers, tied for 11th in slugging percetnage, tied for 12th in batting average and 14th in on-base percentage. Martin is hitting.422 in SEC games with a.733 slugging percentage and a.526 on-base percentage in 12 league games. His 14 RBI in SEC game as well as his slugging percentage and on-base percentage is best in the SEC in SEC games. Martin elected to return for his final season after being selected in the 20th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Martin was Carolina s leading hitter last year batting.336 (82-for-244) with 35 runs scored, 11 doubles, five homers and 38 RBI, a.389 on-base percentage and a.443 slugging percentage. He started all 62 games at first base. Martin averaged 1.32 hits per game last year, tied for highest among SEC returning leaders. His.336 average is second-highest among returning SEC players as well. MURRAY IN RELIEF Freshman right-hander Brandon Murray picked up his fourth win of the year and is now 4-0 on the season with three wins in SEC play as he pitched 5.2 innings of relief allowing just two runs on four hits in the 13-7 victory at Mississippi State. Murray s 5-2 innings marked the longest outing of his Gamecock career. For the season, Murray is 4-0 with a 1.66 ERA in 11 relief appearances with a save. He has 11 strikeouts to four walks and opponents batting.187 against him.

Schrock also was busy in the field with eight assists, which is a season-high by a Gamecock player in a game this year as well. Schrock hit.571 for the series. He has raised his season batting average to.293 (36-for-123) with four homers, seven doubles, 27 RBI and 29 runs scored. He has 25 walks to 11 strikeouts with a.404 on-base percentage and a. 463 slugging mark. Schrock is hitting.308 (16-for-52) in league games with 13 RBI as well. Schrock has driven in 13 runs in conference play, that is tied for second-highest in the SEC. CONE LEADS IT OFF Sophomore outfielder Gene Cone scored four runs in the 13-7 win at Mississippi State on Saturday. The four runs is an individual high by a Gamecock player in a game this season. He followed that up going 3-for-3 with three RBI in win over Appalachian State Cone is hitting.309 (38-for-123) for the year with a.444 on-base percentage and a team-high 32 runs scored on the year. Cone has started all 34 games in center field for the Gamecocks. Cone tied a school record for putouts by an outfielder in a game with nine on March 24 at Coastal Carolina. IN THE CROWE S NEST Sophomore right-hander Wil Crowe is among league leaders in strikeouts with 56 in 47.0 innings, that is tied for fourth highest in the conference. Crowe is 3-3 with a 4.02 ERA. His 47.0 innings are tied for 14th highest in the conference. Crowe earned SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week honors as announced by the league office on March 16 after a win vs. Kentucky. Crowe was phenomenal allowing just one run, unearned, on one hit with three walks and 10 strikeouts in seven innings of work in the 10-1 victory vs. Kentucky. His 10 strikeouts tied a career-high. Crowe allowed just a single in the first inning to the Wildcats, who came into Columbia this weekend riding an 11-game winning streak and hitting.312 at the plate. Crowe is the first Gamecock this season to earn a conference weekly honor. The league office twice recognized him in 2014, once as SEC Pitcher of the Week and once as SEC Freshman of the Week. CALDWELL A HIT Senior outfielder Elliott Caldwell leads the Gamecocks at the plate with a.375 average (42-for- 112) with 22 runs scored and 21 RBI. He has a.471 on-base percentage and a.545 slugging mark. Caldwell is tied for the SEC lead with five triples as well and leads the Gamecocks with 10 stolen bases. Caldwell owns a team-high 14 multi-hit games. Caldwell hit.500 (6-for-12) in the Mississippi State series with two runs scored and three RBI. Caldwell was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the 13-7 win vs. the Bulldogs. He also had two triples on the week and leads the Gamecocks with four for the season, tied for third highest in the conference. Caldwell hit.357 (5-for-14) in the Missouri series with a pair of RBI. He was 2-for-5 with a RBI on Saturday and on Sunday vs. the Tigers. Caldwell also made ESPN s SportsCenter s Top 10 plays on Saturday with the No. 8 play of the day with a diving catch in left field. Caldwell hit.636 (7-for-11) in the Kentucky series with four runs scored, a triple, two homers and four RBI. Caldwell went 2-for-4 in the 10-1 win, followed that up going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a two-run homer in the 4-3 victory over the Wildcats and went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI including a game-tying homer in the bottom of the ninth inning in Sunday s inning win. Caldwell s homer on Saturday was the first of his career in a Gamecock uniform. JACK OF ALL TRADES Junior left-hander Jack Wynkoop suffered a loss despite keeping the Gamecocks in it on Friday in a 7-5 loss at Mississippi State. Wynkoop allowed seven runs, one earned, on 14 hits in 6.1 innings with a walk and four strikeouts. For the season, Wynkoop is 4-3 with a 2.19 ERA in 53.1 innings with seven walks and 45 strikeouts. Opponents are hitting.259 against him. Wynkoop ranks fourth in the SEC in innings pitched, sixth in earned run average and tied for 12th in strikeouts. Wynkoop earned the Tom Price Award as Gamecock MVP of the Clemson series. Wynkoop worked six-plus innings and allowed just one run in the 4-1 victory vs. the Tigers. Wynkoop is in the weekend rotation for a third straight year. He has made 34 starts in his career, that is second-highest among all returning SEC pitchers. DC DELIVERS Junior infielder DC Arendas drove in a season-high three runs in the 13-7 win at Mississippi State. Arendas also hit his first homer in Friday s 7-5 loss. For the season he is batting.247 (18-for-73) with a.431 on-base percentage. Arendas tied a school record with two sacrifice flies in Tuesday s 11-1 win over Appalachian State.

5 @GamecockBasebll - #Gamecocks 5 ON THE MOUND For the season, South Carolina pitchers own a team ERA of The Gamecocks have allowed 130 runs, 102 earned, on 266 hits in innings with 126 walks to 292 strikeouts. Opponents are batting.235 against the Gamecocks. South Carolina s ERA ranks third-best in the SEC with batters struck out third-best as well. AT THE PLATE & ON THE FIELD South Carolina is hitting.266 (298-for-1119) as a team with 202 runs scored, a.363 on-base percentage and a.379 slugging mark. The Gamecocks are fielding.970 for the year. SUPERLATIVES South Carolina is 22-3 on the year when allowing five runs or less. South Carolina is 21-3 on the year with a lead entering the seventh innings. The Gamecocks are 19-3 when allowing less than 10 hits, 10-3 when recording double-digit hits and 15-1 when out-hitting its opponent. South Carolina is 12-8 in games decided by three runs or less. A CLOSER LOOK AT WIDENER Sophomore right-hander Taylor Widener pitched a scoreless ninth inning for a save in the 4-2 win over The Citadel. Widener is 1-2 with a 3.06 ERA in 17.2 innings with 27 strikeouts to 10 walks. His eight saves is second-best in the SEC. MINCEY MAKES HIS MARK Senior right-hander Cody Mincey pitched a career-high four scoreless innings of relief and struck out a career-high seven batters to earn a win in the 2-0 victory at The Citadel last Tuesday. Mincey has 15 strikeouts in 14.0 innings pitched with nine relief appearances. Opponents are hitting.217 against him. VINNY Junior left-hander Vince Fiori leads the Gamecocks with 17 relief appearances on the year. Fiori is 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA in 21.1 innings with 23 strikeouts to 14 walks. Opponents are hitting.169 against him. KEY HITS FROM KOCH Sophomore catcher Logan Koch went 2-for-3 vs. Mississippi State in the 7-5 loss and followed that up with a double and a run scored in the 13-7 win at MSU. Koch hit a game-winning two-run homer in Friday s 2-0 win over Miami and followed that up with a two-run single with the bases loaded in a 7-0 win. Koch hit.375 (3-for-8) in the Miami series. TAYLOR WITH CAREER DAY Freshman catcher Hunter Taylor hit his first career homer and added a sacrifice fly to tie a careerhigh with two RBI in Sunday s 8-5 win over Georgia. Taylor was 3-for-6 (.500) in the Georgia series with a run scored as well. He is hitting.250 (12-for-48) with six runs scored and five RBI in 15 starts. GORE IN A GROOVE Sophomore infielder Jordan Gore has raised his batting average to.295 (33-for-112) on the year and a.362 on-base percentage. Gore has 16 RBI to go along with 21 runs scored. Gore had a three-run single in Tuesday s 4-2 win over The Citadel GREAT SCOTT Sophomore right-hander Reed Scott earned a win after five scoreless innings in the 11-1 victory vs. Appalachian State. Scott tied a career-high with seven innings pitched in a 4-3 loss vs. Georgia. He allowed four runs, two earned, on seven hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Scott is 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 32.0 innings with 16 walks to 23 strikeouts. STOKES HAS SUCCESS Freshman infielder Madison Stokes was 1-for-2 with a RBI in the 2-0 win at The Citadel and 2-for- 5 with a run scored in the 13-7 win at Mississippi State. PRESTON WITH PRECISION Junior right-hander Preston Johnson recorded a strikeout for all six outs he tallied in Saturday s loss to Georgia. Former infielder Scott Wingo ( ) and former catcher Justin Dalles (2009) have returned to campus to complete their degree requirements and are serving on the staff this year. Dalles spent three seasons in the Baltimore Orioles organization, one year with the Philadelphia Phillies and last year in the Independent League. Dalles lettered in 2009 and earned second-team All-SEC honors on the way to being a sixth round MLB draft choice by the Orioles. Wingo spent the past three seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. Wingo was a four-year letterwinner at South Carolina from and played on both national championship teams in 2010 and Wingo served as captain his senior year in 2011, earned first-team All-SEC honors and was the Most Outstanding Player at the College World Series. THIS IS SOUTH CAROLINA BASEBALL South Carolina earned its 15th straight trip to the NCAA Regional as the 2014 team finished and finished ranked as high as No. 22 by the USA Today coaches poll. South Carolina went in the SEC and is one of only two schools in the conference to finish among the top four teams in the league in both 2013 and 2014 and one of four schools in the SEC to win at least 40 games in both 2013 and South Carolina is also one of only nine schools in the nation to host a NCAA Regional in 2013 and South Carolina won the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship in 2010 and 2011 at the College World Series. 42 42 Head Coach Chad Holbrook Chad Holbrook begins his third year as head coach of the South Carolina program after directing the Gamecocks in 2014 to a 15th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Holbrook is the only head coach in South Carolina history to have led a team to the NCAA Regionals in his first two years as head coach. His SEC winning percentage of.593 is the highest of any South Carolina coach in the first two seasons of the league and his overall winning percentage of.696 is the second-highest of any South Carolina coach in his first two seasons at the helm of the program. The 2014 team finished and finished ranked as high as No. 22 by the USA Today coaches poll. South Carolina went in the SEC and is one of only two schools in the conference to finish among the top four teams in the league in both 2013 and 2014 and one of four schools in the SEC to win at least 40 games in both 2013 and South Carolina is also one of only nine schools in the nation to host a NCAA Regional in 2013 and Among the highlights in 2014 included a series sweep of instate rival Clemson. Holbrook s team would claim six SEC series including a pair of wins at eventual national champion Vanderbilt as well as a series victory vs. CWS participant Ole Miss. South Carolina hosted a NCAA Regional for the fifth-straight year marking the Gamecocks as one of only two schools in the nation to claim that distinction. Gamecock Nation flocked to Carolina Stadium as South Carolina set a total attendance record at 305,564 in 2014, the first time South Carolina eclipsed the 300,000-plus mark. South Carolina also set a record with 5,957 season tickets sold. The 2014 Gamecocks led the SEC with a 2.43 earned run average that ranked ninth in the nation. The pitching staff was among the best in the country with 13 shutouts, fifthhighest in the nation, a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3.03, sixth-best in the country and a 1.12 WHIP that was eighth overall. South Carolina hit.281 as a team with a.361 team on-base percentage and fielded.975 as well. South Carolina would have seven players selected in the 2014 MLB Draft including five players in the first 11 rounds. Highlighting that group was junior catcher Grayson Greiner, who was a third round pick and the No. 99 overall selection by the Detroit Tigers. Greiner was a second-team All-America honoree by Baseball America and Perfect Game and was named he USC Co-Male Student-Athlete of the Year alongside Gamecock football/basketball standout Bruce Ellington. He would also be a semi-finalist for the Johnny Bench Award for the top catcher in college baseball and a member of the SEC All-Defensive team. Greiner played in 60 games with 58 starts, hit.311 (66-for-212) with 39 runs scored, 50 RBI, 13 doubles and eight homers, also a.389 on-base percentage and a.486 slugging mark. Greiner hit a team-best.327 (37-for-113) in league games with four homers and 24 RBI vs. SEC teams. Junior left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery was a 4th round selection by the New York Yankees after leading the pitching staff with an 8-5 record and a 3.42 ERA in a team-high 100 innings with 95 strikeouts. Montgomery became the 22nd pitcher in school history to reach the 20-win total as well. Junior infielder Joey Pankake was a seventh round pick by the Tigers. He became the 26th player in school history to tally 200 or more hits with a double in the second inning of the Florida game at the SEC Tournament on May 22. He finished his career with 204 hits in the Garnet & Black. He started 58 games and hit.303 (67-for-221) with a team-high 52 runs scored. Junior outfielder Tanner English went in the 11th round to the Minnesota Twins after manning the center field position the entre year with 62 starts and being named to the SEC All-Defensive team. Joel Seddon also was selected in the 11th round after earning second-team All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association with 14 saves. He was also a second-team All-SEC choice. Junior first baseman Kyle Martin was South Carolina s best hitter with a.336 average (82-for-244) and would be picked in the 20th round but chose to return to school for the 2015 season. Right-handed pitcher Evan Beal rounded out the group as a 21st round choice by the Royals. A Gamecock newcomer also found success as freshman righthanded pitcher Wil Crowe earned Freshman All-America honors as announced by Collegiate Baseball on Wednesday morning. In his first season, Crowe went 8-3 in 15 starts with a 2.75 ERA in 91.2 innings pitched. Crowe allowed just 32 runs, 28 earned, on 76 hits with 19 walks and 59 strikeouts. Crowe was strong in his last start with the Garnet and Black as he pitched four-hit complete game shutout in a 9-0 win vs. Campbell in the NCAA Regional that earned him All-Tournament Team honors. Crowe earmed SEC Pitcher of the Week and SEC Freshman of the Week also. The Gamecocks also shined off the field as Greiner continued a streak of a Gamecock making the Capital One Academic All-America teams to four years, following LB Dantzler s Academic All-America Division I Baseball Player of the Year nod last season and Michael Roth s two selections to the first team in Holbrook s first season as head coach in 2013 saw the Gamecocks compile a record and the school s 11th NCAA Super Regional appearance. Holbrook directed the 2013 squad to a final national ranking of No. 12 in the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll along with No. 13 by Collegiate Baseball and Perfect Game and No. 14 by Baseball America. Among the 2013 highlights was a series victory against Clemson, four sweeps of SEC teams and six SEC series victories including a pair of wins at LSU, the only team to go into Baton Rouge in 2013 and claim a three-game set. South Carolina hosted a NCAA Regional for the fourth straight year with the Gamecocks going undefeated in three games and continuing a run of 27 straight postseason wins at home including a 16-0 mark at Carolina Stadium. South Carolina ended the 2013 season with a total attendance of 260,605, third highest in the country. Chad Holbrook was named head baseball coach for the University of South Carolina on July 16, Holbrook was promoted to the top spot by athletics director Ray Tanner after four seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the Gamecocks. Holbrook came to South Carolina in July 2008 as associate head coach. Along with his recruiting coordinator duties, he served as hitting instructor, overseeing the Gamecock offense, including base running and the short game and was the third base coach. He also worked with the outfielders. Holbrook came to the Gamecock program after serving 15 seasons as a member of the University of North Carolina coaching staff. Holbrook was the 2011 ABCA/ Baseball America Assistant Coach of the Year after the Gamecocks won a second consecutive national championship.
