The Red Raiders will put their overall record and 6-6 mark in Big 12 play to the test against an Oklahoma team that is 25-8 on the year (5-5 in the Big 12) and ranked in all four major polls. Texas Tech and Oklahoma will begin the three-game series at 6:30 p.m. on Friday night at Dan Law Field. The series continues at 5 p.m. on Saturday and will conclude at 1 p.m. on Sunday. DAN SPENCER TELEVISION SHOW Red Raider Sports with Dan Spencer is the weekly television show produced by Texas Tech Athletics that is exclusive to Red Raider Baseball. TEXAS TECH/OKLAHOMA SERIES NOTES Friday s game will signal the 57th all-time meeting between the Sooners and the Red Raiders. The two school s first met on the diamond on March 23, a 3-0 Oklahoma win in Norman. Texas Tech will be looking to snap a string of five consecutive series losses to Oklahoma as the Red Raiders have not taken a three-game series since the 2004 season when Tech took 2-of-3 from the Sooners at Dan Law Field. Junior right-hander Chad Bettis helped Tech avoid a three-game sweep last year in Norman as he hurled a complete game in the finale to lead the Red Raiders to a 5-1 win. Oklahoma has won seven of the last 10 games in the series including the last game played between the two teams at the 2009 Big 12 Conference Championship in Oklahoma City. Connecticut SCOUTING OKLAHOMA The Oklahoma Sooners come into the weekend series with an impressive 25-8 overall record and are ranked as high as No. 11 in the national rankings. The Sooners are 5-5 in Big 12 play after dropping the series finale against Missouri on Sunday at L. Dale Mitchell Park. The Tigers pulled out a victory to avoid a series sweep. Oklahoma State defeated Oklahoma on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th in a non-conference game on Tuesday night that gives the Sooners a two-game losing skid. Offensively, the Sooners have posted the fourth best team batting average in the Big 12 at.310 and their.507 slugging percentage ranks second. First baseman Cameron Seitzer leads the squad with a.363 average along with eight home runs and 32 RBIs. On the mound, the OU staff owns a 3.64 earned run average and that is the third best total in the league. Saturday s scheduled starter Bobby Shore paces the group with a 5-1 record and a 2.27 ERA. RED RAIDERS MAKING SOME NOISE With back-to-back Big 12 series wins, Texas Tech is making some noise in the league as they have jumped all the way to fourth place in the league standings. Tech dropped its first two series at Texas A&M and at home against Texas but have rebounded nicely with a home series win over then No. 20 Kansas State and a road win at Oklahoma State. Heading into the weekend series with No. 11 Oklahoma, the Red Raiders have six league wins under their belt which matches Tech s Big 12 pace after 12 conference games in HOLY COMEBACK Texas Tech did something on Sunday that it hadn t done all year long - make a comeback. Trailing by a run and down to the last strike in the top of the ninth, sophomore Scott LeJeune came through in the clutch as he dropped a threerun home run over the left field wall to give Tech a 5-3 lead. Chad Bettis pitched a shutout ninth inning and that gave the Red Raiders their first road series win of the season. It also marked Tech s first comeback win of the season as the Red Raiders had never overcome a deficit after the sixth inning in 34 previous games. Texas Tech picked up its first road series win of the season with the 5-3 victory of the Cowboys. It is the first road series win for Tech since taking 2-of-3 last year at No. 10 Kansas State. Tech picked up its first road series win at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium since In that series in 2004, Tech scored nine runs in the top of the ninth to take an 11-8 come-frombehind win over the Cowboys and won the series 2-1. The Red Raiders allowed nine runs in the first inning (seven charged to starter Brandon Petite who was pulled before recording a single out) and found themselves in a huge hole in what was a critical non-conference game. A three-run home run by Nick Popescu and a solo dinger by Jamodrick McGruder cut the deficit to five runs in the top of the second and jumpstarted a huge Red Raider comeback. Tech eventually tied the game at with a four-run outburst in the fifth and then grabbed an lead with a single run in the sixth. Dallas Baptist tied the game at with a solo run in the eighth but Tech sealed the win with two runs in the ninth. ROCK SOLID Junior right-handed Chad Bettis has been living up to his preseason billing over the last couple of weeks and has been instrumental in Tech s recent success. Bettis leads the team with a 3.90 ERA over 57 2/3 innings and has compiled a 5-3 record and five saves. Over the last 10 games, he has compiled a 2-0 record and four saves while allowing just three runs in 15 innings pitched. Ranks first in the Big 12 with 57 2/3 innings pitched. Tied four fourth in the Big 12 with five saves. Needs just two more saves to tie Brad Ralston s school record of 14 that he earned between MAKE THAT TWO IN A ROW FOR DORAN It took junior right-hander Bobby Doran 29 games into the season before he was finally able to get his first win of the year (vs. Kansas State). Doran, however, may be on the roll he has been looking for all year as he picked up his second consecutive victory in a crucial game last weekend at Oklahoma State. After Tech dropped the series opener 13-3 to the Cowboys on Friday night, Doran helped even the series for the Red Raiders as he held OSU to just three runs on four hits over 6 1/3 innings. So far this year Doran has made eight starts and one relief appearance (at UNLV) and logged a 2-2 record along with a 5.21 ERA over 48 1/3 innings pitched. NEELY TO MISS THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON Junior right-hander John Neely, who assumed the Friday night starting role against Texas, will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a broken right hand. He suffered the injury on Friday and will be replaced by sophomore RHP Louis Head against the Cowboys. ASHBY MOVES INTO TOP 10 IN CAREER HITS With 213 career hits, senior centerfielder Taylor Ashby has moved past Keith Ginter ( ), Jimmy Zachry ( ) and Ronnie Mattson ( ), Cody Fuller ( ) and Matt Kastelic ( ) into sixth place on the school s career hits list. Only seven hits separate Ashby from moving past Mike Humphreys ( ) into fifth place and he is within striking distance of Roger Kieschnick s ( ) total of 222 which ranks fourth. Ashby moved into the top 10 with a single against Gonzaga on March 9 and then moved into eighth place by going 1-for-3 against Texas A&M on March 19. Ranks tied for third on the career games played list with 195. Ranks fourth on the career at-bats list with 712. Ranks tied for fifth on the career doubles list with 43 and is just one away from surpassing David Lindstrom ( ) for sole possession. Had his streak of 74 consecutive starts snapped at TCU on March 14 as he was held from the game due to soreness in his back. TECH IN THE TOP 30 IN HOME ATTENDANCE After seven weekends of the 2010 college baseball season, Texas Tech finds itself in the Top 26 nationally in average home attendance. With an average crowd of 2,363 over 20 games, Tech sits at No. 24 nationally behind fellow Big 12 opponents Texas (No. 4), Texas A&M (No. 11) and Baylor. (No. 23). QUICK STRIKES As of Tuesday morning, Texas Tech had an unofficial RPI ranking of No. 42 according to boydsworld.com. Texas Tech's 51 errors this season has led to a.964 team fielding percentage and that mark ranks eighth in the Big 12 just ahead of Missouri and Texas A&M. Texas Tech has turned 35 doubles plays this season which is the most of any Big 12 Conference school. Texas Tech has scored in the first inning in 18 games this season. The Red Raiders are 11-7 this year when scoring in the first frame. Texas Tech has had three players total 10-game hit streaks this season in Michael Reed, Kevin Whitehead and Joey Kenworthy. The 10-game streaks were the longest of each of their careers. Taylor Ashby and Scott LeJeune each of current six-game streaks while Bonham Hough is close behind at five games. Junior left-hander Jay Johnson helped seal Tech s series win over Oklahoma State last weekend in what was his first start of the season. Johnson, who had made all 18 of his previous outings in relief, held OSU to two earned runs (three total) on three hits over five innings of work. Sophomore designated hitter/right fielder Scott LeJeune leads the team with 14 multiple-hit games and 13 multiple-rbi games. LeJeune also leads the team and the Big 12 Conference with 18 doubles while teammate Michael Reed ranks third with 14. LeJeune also paces the Big 12 with 43 RBIs. Sophomore second baseman Garrett Totten is the only everyday starter that has not hit a home run this year. Every single player in the Tech lineup, including backup catcher Kevin Whitehead, has at least one home run except for Totten. Freshman first baseman Barrett Barnes leads the team with a nine-game active hit streak. Junior catcher Jeremy Mayo has thrown out 10 base runners in 37 stolen base attempts. He set a new careerhigh against Washington State on Feb. 26 when he threw out three Cougar runners. IN HONOR OF NO. 9 Former Red Raider first baseman Mark Austry ( ) collapsed and died after crossing the finish line at the Rock N Roll Half-Marathon in Dallas shortly after noon on Sunday. Austry, a Fort Worth native, was a three-year letterwinner here at Texas Tech and played in 177 games during his career. He helped lead the Red Raiders to the Big 12 Tournament Championship in 1998 and NCAA Tournament appearances in 1998, 1999 and Austry was a key offensive contributor during his career but will long be remembered for his game-winning RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth that gave the Red Raiders a 4-3 win over rival Texas and eliminated the Longhorns from the 2000 Big 12 Conference Tournament. That win sent Texas Tech to the semifinals of the conference tournament and locked up an NCAA Regional bid for the Red Raiders. Mark was in Lubbock back in February to help this year s team kickoff the season as he took part in the Alumni game and was joined by numerous former teammates and friends. He was 32 years old and leaves behind his Mariana Alvarez Austry and two young daughters Isabella and Anna. Junior first baseman Stephen Hagen wore Mark s No. 9 jersey in his memory against Texas State. MAYO NAMED TO JOHNNY BENCH AWARD WATCH LIST Junior catcher Jeremy Mayo has been named one of 53 preseason candidates for the 2010 Johnny Bench Award which honors the nation s top collegiate catcher and is presented annually by The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission. He is one of four catchers from the Big 12 Conference named to the list as he joins Oklahoma State s Kevin David, Texas Cameron Rupp and Oklahoma s Tyler Ogle. BETTIS NAMED BIG 12 CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK Junior right-hander Chad Bettis was named the Big 12 Co- Pitcher of the Week on Monday, Feb. 21 for his performance on Opening Day against Jacksonville State. He shared the honor with Baylor RHP Shawn Tolleson. Bettis, a product of Lubbock Monterey High School, was spectacular for the Red Raiders in their season opener against Jacksonville State on Friday. He retired the first 13 Gamecock batters he faced and tossed six shutout frames before allowing his only run of the night in the seventh inning. In all, Bettis allowed just one run on four hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work. BARNES IMPRESSIVE IN COLLEGIATE DEBUT Freshman right fielder Barrett Barnes had Red Raider Nation buzzing this past weekend after he turned in the best debut by a freshman since Roger Kieschnick in In the season opener against Jacksonville State, Barnes piled up three hits, including two home runs and a game-high six RBIs to lead Tech to an 8-3 win over the Gamecocks. He became the first Red Raider freshman to hit a home run and drive in six runs in a debut since Kieschnick did so against Louisana- Monroe back in In all, Barnes tallied nine RBIs on the weekend along with a.400 batting average and was named the Red Raider Classic s most valuable player. His nine RBIs, two home runs and seven runs scored currently lead the Big 12 Conference. 4

5 HEAD COACH DAN SPENCER Determined. Aggressive. Champion. These three words are accurate descriptions of a man hired by Texas Tech to rebuild its baseball program and return the Red Raiders to the national spotlight. These three words are the heart and soul of Dan Spencer. However, the measure of a coach is not the words used to describe himself but instead the characteristics he installs into his team. In his first season as head coach in 2009, his team showed determination and aggression and now he will use that mentality to lead the Red Raiders down the road to becoming champions. Hired in the summer of 2008 to replace a Texas Tech legend in Larry Hays, Spencer embraced the challenge and wasted no time in building a foundation for the Red Raider Baseball program in which to build a championship contender. Prior to his taking over the reins, Texas Tech had missed out on the Big 12 tournament in each of the last two years and posted last place finishes in the conference both of those seasons. Spencer s first squad defied all the preseason prognostications and he led the Red Raiders to a seventh place finish in 2009 and a return to Oklahoma City for the conference tournament. In their return to Oklahoma City, the Red Raiders posted an upset win over Missouri and found themselves just one win away from the championship game. When hired back in 2008, he became just the eighth head coach in school history joining E.Y. Freeland ( ), R. Higginbotham ( ), Bettie Feathers ( ), Berl Huffman ( ), Kal Segrist ( ), Gary Ashby ( ) and Larry Hays ( ). He joined Gary Ashby as the only two head coaches in school history that spent their college playing careers at Texas Tech as he lettered in Spencer, 44, rejoined the Texas Tech Baseball family back on July 2, 2007 when he was named associate head coach on the staff of former head coach Larry Hays. He spent the 2008 season in that role where he coached the pitchers and catchers and headed Tech s recruiting front. His 2008 pitching staff produced two top-10 round MLB draft picks in juniors Zach Stewart and James Leverton, both of which had never been drafted prior to this season. Stewart was taken in the third round of the draft by the Cincinnati Reds while Leverton was taken in the eighth round by the Chicago Cubs. Prior to his arrival back at Texas Tech, he spent 11 seasons at Oregon State, the last three as associate head coach where he served as pitching/catching coach and recruiting coordinator. His pitching staffs during the last two seasons of his OSU tenure were instrumental in helping the Beavers become the first back-to-back College World Series Champions since LSU in the late 1990s. In those two seasons, his staffs compiled 3.41 and 3.48 cumulative ERAs while leading the team to and respective records. His group led the Pac-10 in ERA in both 2005 and 2006 while his bullpen helped pave the way to back-to-back national titles by contributing 20-plus saves in both 2006 and Under his leadership, the Beavers had three pitchers and one catcher named to All-America teams and seven drafted in the top 10 rounds of the MLB Draft. Eddie Kunz, the ace of the 2007 staff, and catcher Mitch Canhan, the squad s leading hitter, were both first round draft selections in the 2007 MLB Draft. His collegiate coaching career began at the junior college level six years prior to arriving at Oregon State as he landed his first job as an assistant coach at Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Wash., in After just one season in Tacoma, he picked up his first head coaching position as he took over the program at Green River Community College in While at Green River, he compiled a record of between 1992 and He and his wife, Susie, have three children: Wade, Logan and Elizabeth. CAREER RECORD: CAREER BIG 12 RECORD: STARTING PITCHERS DEAL IN RED RAIDER CLASSIC Texas Tech got outstanding starting pitching performances in all four games of the Red Raider Classic, including one that was awarded the Big 12 Co-Pitcher of the Week honor. Starters Chad Bettis, Bobby Doran, Louis Head and Jordan Stern combined for 17 shutout innings while allowing just three total earned runs. The three runs allowed over 21 innings gave Tech starters a 1.29 ERA. Chad Bettis posted seven innings of work while Bobby Doran and Louis Head each went five and Jordan Stern closed out the weekend with four shutout frames against Jacksonville State. NINE PLAYERS NAMED TO RRC ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM Texas Tech placed nine players on the Red Raider Classic All-Tournament team: Jeremy Mayo (catcher), Joey Kenworthy (shortstop), Nick Popescu (third base), Michael Reed (left field), Taylor Ashby (center field), Barrett Barnes (right field), Chad Bettis (starting pitcher), Louis Head (starting pitcher) and Brett Bruening (relief pitcher). BETTIS NAMED TO GOLDEN SPIKES WATCH LIST Junior right-hander Chad Bettis is one of 50 preseason candidates for the 2010 USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award, which is presented annually to the nation s top collegiate player. Bettis, a junior product of Lubbock Monterey High School, compiled a 6-1 record along with seven saves and a 3.59 earned run average in He factored into 17 of Tech s 25 wins last year and was rewarded with honorable mention All-Big 12 honors from the league coaches SCHEDULE IS NO CAKE WALK Texas Tech has a daunting task ahead of them in 2010 as Boyd Nation of boydsworld.com has calculated the Red Raider s strength of schedule at No. 11 nationally. TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS THANKFUL FOR EXTRA WEEK The NCAA gave schools all across the country a little bit of breathing room in 2010 as the spring schedule will now cover 56 games in 13 weeks as compared to 12 weeks in The week long extension, opposed by only a few, will reduce the number of two-game series in the midweek and should hopefully increase the amount of time spent in the classroom. As a result, Texas Tech will only play four two-game midweek series in 2010 as opposed to the seven played last season. The future of NCAA baseball could see the extra week being given at the end of the season which would move the College World Series back one week. NEW FACES ON THE MOUND The 2010 season will bring about several new faces on the mound for the Red Raiders as eight new pitchers will join six returning letterman to make up the Texas Tech staff. A total of five transfers will be called upon to help make an immediate impact and they will be joined by two newcomers from the high school ranks and one who completed a redshirt in Transfers Bobby Doran, Brett Bruening and Jay Johnson are expected to figure into major roles on the staff with Doran and Bruening taking up starting roles with Johnson serving as the closer. Sophomore Louis Head, who spent most of his freshman season as a middle reliever, is expected to be a midweek starter but could also earn a spot on the weekend. BETTIS TO LEAD TECH STAFF Junior right-hander Chad Bettis will move out of the closer role in 2010 and move into a new role as Tech s Friday starter. Bettis, a Lubbock native, spent his freshman season as Tech s Sunday starter before moving up a day to Saturday at the beginning of the 2009 season. Tech s struggles in the bullpen forced Dan Spencer and Ed Gustafson to move Bettis to the closer role and it turned out to be a great move for the Red Raiders. He ended the 2009 season with a team-leading 3.59 ERA along with a 6-1 record and seven saves. Bettis, who is draft-eligible, has been predicted by many as a first-round selection in the 2010 MLB Draft and is listed as the second best prospect in the Big 12 this season according to Baseball America. Baseball America also proclaims Bettis to have the best fastball (94-96) in the league and named him to their preseason All-Big 12 team as one of three starting pitchers. He is listed as the No. 21 prospect nationally according to Perfect Game Crosschecker. KENWORTHY SET TO ANCHOR TECH INFIELD Returning for his fourth and final season, senior shortstop Joey Kenworthy will be looking to build upon his best season as a Red Raider in Last season, the 5-5, 160lb product from Houston, finished second on the team with a.335 batting average while playing in all 57 games and making 56 starts. He will be the veteran on a Tech infield that is still relatively young with sophomores at both second and third and a junior transfer at first base. In 2009, Kenworthy was a difficult out for opposing pitchers as he struckout just 24 times in 230 at-bats and led the team in runs scored with 77. TECH HOPES YOUTHFUL 09 PAYS OFF IN 10 Texas Tech s rebuilding process under Dan Spencer heads into its second year but the Red Raiders have big goals for 2010, including a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since Last season, Texas Tech had five freshmen make significant contributions over the course of the season, including three infielders who combined for 113 starts. Garrett Totten and Justin Berry, now sophomores, enter the year as the starters at second and third, respectively, while Scott LeJeune will again serve as the designated hitter. Kevin Whitehead, who made 20 starts behind the plate his freshman season, will again backup junior catcher Jeremy Mayo but could also see time as the designated hitter. Louis Head, a middle reliever who made 20 appearances his freshman year, is expected to nail down a starting role in his sophomore campaign. CLASSROOM SUCCESS The Red Raider baseball team got their 2010 season off to a good start but it had nothing to do with anything on the field. During the fall, the Red Raiders made a big splash in the classroom as 20 players were named to the Big 12 Fall Honor Roll after ending the semester with a 3.0 or higher GPA. O CANADA For the first time since the 2002 season, the Tech Hecklers will have a good reason to sing O Canada. The 2010 Red Raiders will feature two players from north of the border as freshman RHP Brandon Petite and sophomore LHP Jay Johnson hail from Canada. Petite comes to Texas Tech from Vauxhall Academy in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia while Johnson is a sophomore transfer from Prairie Baseball Academy and a native of Sussex Corner, New Brunswick. Chad Ertel, a right-handed pitcher, was Tech s last Canadian born player and played for Red Raiders in 2001 and 2002 and was part of two NCAA Tournament squads. Possibly the most popular Canadian to play for Tech, was second baseman Stubby Clapp who lettered in WE WILL PROTECT THIS HOUSE Texas Tech Athletics is in its first year of a department wide apparel contract with Under Armour. Under Armour, one of the fast growing athletic apparel companies in the world, outfits all 17 teams at Texas Tech as well as the administrative staff. The Red Raider baseball team will debut six new uniforms this season: traditional red, traditional black, gray, white pinstripe, gray pinstripe and a throwback. HOME SWEET HOME After an arduous travel schedule in 2009, the Red Raiders are thrilled to be playing the majority of their games in 2010 within the friendly confines of Dan Law Field. Texas Tech will play 32 of its 56 regular-season games at home, including five Big 12 series. Last season, Texas Tech played just 22 games at home and only four conference series. The Red Raiders open up the 2010 season with a 10-game 5

6 homestand before making their first road trip in early March (5-7) to the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park. In 2009, Tech played its first six games at home before embarking on a seven game, 11-day road trip through the state of California. Texas Tech will face Big 12 foes Texas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Missouri and Baylor all at home. FSN HEADED TO DAN LAW FIELD FSN (Fox Sports Net) will make its inaugural visit to Dan Law Field in late March when the Red Raiders face the Texas Longhorns in a three-game Big 12 series. FSN announced in late January that Tech s game against the Longhorns on Sunday, March 28 would be part of the Big 12 FSN baseball television package and first pitch would be moved back to noon. The game will mark the first time in history that the network has televised a game live from Dan Law Field. TEXAS TECH NOTES FROM THE OFFSEASON Sophomore third baseman Justin Berry underwent successful hip surgery in Vail, Colo., in June to repair an impingement and torn labrum. He is at full strength as the Red Raiders open up the 2010 season. Duke Vonschamann (INF/RHP), Robbie Kilcrease (LHP), Nick Hanslik (UTL) and Zach Fowler (LHP) will miss the 2010 season due to injury as all four underwent elbow surgery this fall. Texas Tech is currently in the fundraising process to renovate Dan Law Field. Tech head coach Dan Spencer is trying to raise between $10-15 million to give the home of the Red Raiders a complete overhaul. The Tech baseball team took part in the annual Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure event in Lubbock for the second consecutive season on Oct. 3, The squad served as course coordinators for the event which drew 8,000 participants and raises thousands of dollars for breast cancer research. The Texas Tech Department of Athletics announced the formation of an annual baseball tournament to be held each year at Dan Law Field. The Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic will be held on an annual basis and is dedicated to the memory of former shortstop Brooks Wallace ( ). Wallace is known on the national level as the College Baseball Foundation honors the nation s top collegiate shortstop with the Brooks Wallace Award. This year s Brooks Wallace Memorial Classic will be held Feb and will feature Bethune-Cookman, Washington State and Texas Tech. Texas Tech announced its 2011 signing class with the inking of 10 student-athletes to national letters of intent or financial aid agreements. (Seward County Community College) Former Red Raider pitcher Dustin Richardson ( ) made his major league debut this fall (Sept. 28) with the Boston Red Sox. Richardson pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings against the Toronto Blue Jays in his debut while becoming the 20th former Red Raider to earn a major league call-up. Junior transfer Stephen Hagen, the national JUCO home run leader last season at Eastern Oklahoma State, tied the knot in fall as he and his wife Jenny were married on Sept. 19. Hagen is not the only married player on team, however, as senior transfer Bonham Hough is also hitched. He is and his wife Misty moved to Lubbock this past summer after he transferred from UT-Pan American. Former Red Raider outfielder Jon Webber (1999) earned a spot on the 2009 USA Baseball World Cup Team and helped guide the United States to a gold medal. The U.S. defeated Cuba 10-5 in the IBAF (International Baseball Federation) gold medal game for it second consecutive world title. RHP Chad Bettis earned a spot on the 2009 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team and spent the summer traveling with Team USA across the country as well as to Japan and Canada. Bettis compiled three saves in nine appearances (nine innings pitched) as the staff closer and registered a 3.00 ERA. The team won the 2009 World Baseball Challenge with an 8-1 win over Germany at Prince George Citizen Field in Prince George, British Columbia on July 26. Three Red Raiders were selected in day two of the 2009 MLB Draft. Junior RHP Nate Karns was taken in the 12th round by the Washington Nationals while seniors AJ Ramos and Chris Richburg were taken in the 21st and 23rd rounds, respectively. Ramos was taken by the Florida Marlins while Richburg was selected by the Cincinnati Reds.
