All divisions/disciplines/ committee representatives are required to provide regular reports. A reminder to committee representatives to submit to the executive for keeping: agendas, minutes, and brief reports relevant to FLCC. A month end financial statement is sent to each executive member prior to meeting or review. Statements available to any member upon request. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

2 1.1.1 Coach Boats and Motors Theft and replacement of stolen motor Fort Langley Historic Site and ToL Marina Park FLCC Strategic Plans Criminal Records Check Discussed replacing stolen motor. Deductible is $500. We have quotes from Maple Marine one with electric start for an extra $200 as FW has twice damaged pullcord with each repair costing approx $200. MOTION by Grant to proceed with purchase. Seconded by Joanne. Carried Grant and Catriona nothing new to report DB is waiting for member feedback on their strategic plans. Voy is still working on their changes. Bob has spoken to RCMP and the process we are now following is what is required Communications Exec are meeting with Joyce is August 29 th in the ATC room Sale/trade of the The DB 10 has been washed and Bob has sent photos to Dean Fortin. We Elite DB10 are exploring an exchange of a refurbished BUK for the older DB Security Measures Catriona would like to purchase LOREX camera system from Costco. We will have to do our own installation of cameras and post signage. MOTION by Catriona for Security funding up to $600. Seconded by Karen. Bob will talk with Terry McMullen for his assistance FCKC post-season debrief Item E-2.Treasurer Upon formation of FCKC it was agreed FCKC would keep FLCC Exec informed as FCKC is part of FLCC. To date this has not happened. Grant asked for this to be tabled to next month. See E6.1 Dave requested to setup backup contacts. Sara agreed to be back up for CRA. Bob agreed to be backup for club Quickbooks, which Flatwater already has two members setup with access. Dave has Membership forms that were not completely filled out and had no money attached. Agreed they will be treated as drop ins. Item E-3 Safety 3.1 Safety Training for Divisions 3.2 CPR Training and where to place AED s Item E-4 Facilities/ Inventory 4.1 Dock expansion - ToL/FLCC Sub-License (see attachment) 4.2 Fort Heritage Society /Joseph Haldi House 4.3 Maintenance Committee and General Maintenance Item E-5 DRAGON BOAT Grant said the Sprint safety manual is currently being updated. Dragon Boat Steering Committee will present updated manual and other steering training materials at the next meeting. We are in the middle of OC huli season. We currently have four assessors. Will develop OC1 on-line quiz similar to the OC6 quiz. Tabled to next month. After discussing a few items on the sub-lease, the ToL/FLCC Sub-License (see attachment) was signed by Bob and Cheryl. The dock expansion can now move forward so Bob will contact dock committee needs to meet. Grant was told there was to be another meeting by end of August but has not heard anything more. He will inquire and update exec. Catriona will have a meeting with volunteers to identify issues. Eleven FLCC teams attended Steveston Regatta, with several teams winning their first medals. Karen will put something in newsletter.

3 Item E-6 FLATWATER/SPRINT 6.1 Changes to FCKC staff and volunteers Grant reported that FW Head Coach Emily Raymond is leaving and this has effected the FCKC board. There are now several empty positions on the FCKC board which they hope to fill soon - there is a group of parents who do not have a lot of experience but are very passionate. FLCC Exec asks to be kept informed to be able to support the FCKC Item E-7 OUTRIGGER 7.1 Storage issues in boat house Grant and Joanne to discuss storage issues. The kayak storage is taking over the OC storage space, which is needed by OC. Grant says this should be eased once they receive their new storage container. 7.2 Ongoing Huli s Huli drills are continuing. Joanne will updated numbers at next meeting. 7.3 Open House Open House was a big success. We had 21 non-club members attend, with kids as young as 8-12 years old participating. They loved it and want to get involved. Big thanks to volunteers, Terry McMullen, Mark Lidster and Jonathan Wilkins for steering and to Jen Vander beek for doing sign up. Joanne has pictures for newsletter and Facebook 7.4 C-Lion OC1 purchase Still no date for arrival Bob and Joanne will meet with manufacturer 7.5 Purchase of night lights Request to purchase suction lights for the OC s. They are battery operated and can be stored in a container in chicken coop. Motion to purchase four lights approx $100. Seconded by Catriona. Need to discuss FW regularly using voyageur canoes for FW programs without booking all divisions need to book boats before using. Club member Jen Vanderbeek has offered to help update website information and submitted some examples of changes. Bob will discuss with Joyce how members can have input on website. Covered under E Bob shared that FLCC is ranked third overall in CORA events this year and hopes this will encourage teams to participate in CORA events representing FLCC in upcoming years. Catriona has ideas for a fall event but tabled until next meeting. 4 August was an exciting time for FLCC. Congratulations to Fast & Furious and Titanium who competed at the Canadian Club Crew in Welland, Ontario. Both teams qualified to go to the 2018 World Club Crew in Hungary. Thank you for representing FLCC so successfully. Locally FLCC is being well represented as other teams competed in regattas in Harrison, Victoria and Steveston. Unfortunately, the Kamloops Regatta was canceled due to smoke from the fires in the interior of the province. There were a number of dragon boat outings in August. These were coordinated by Gayle Brooks and her team of volunteers who graciously helped out. Thank you for supporting FLCC! Sprint Report - Grant Rawstrom - August 2017 This month is also a busy one with summer camps and other beginner kayak classes continuing with the good weather. Summer camps were well attended and probably will be our best ever. With the increase of the amount of participants and price per week our summer camps should be our biggest source of revenue. Lauryn, Ryan, Devon and Kirsten have been working hard on making each day fun and exciting for the kids. We have been fortunate that, through the Federal Govt we could hire all four students with the grant. This is also a first for us. Elliot Hoyt and Ben Muench performed creditably in K1 and K2 at this years Nationals held in Welland, ON. Their best performance was 6 th in the Final of K At the Canada Summer Games Meghan Cheung as part of the K4 team came away with 1 st place in the B final in 200 and 500. The younger athletes are doing final preparation for their main regatta of the season for under 15 competitors the Pacific Cup at Whonnock Lake early next month. With Emily leaving us to go back to school for a teaching certificate we will be without a full time coach after this next regatta Voyager Report - August Glenda Grassmuck We took two full boats out for a moonlight paddle, though apparently the moon was reluctant to appear. Grant and his brigade team paddled a canoe from Hope to Mission, where our four canoes were able to meet up with them. Julie Kell organized a very successful Brigade Days. A special shout out to Grant and Rita Rawstron who trailered the canoes. We were a fleet of five when we arrived in Fort Langley. We feel that the use of a chartered bus to take paddlers to Mission was instrumental in helping us with such a good turnout. Plans are underway for the Cranberry Festival in October. The festival is very popular with paddlers. We were getting team requests even before registration opened. Last count we were full with several teams on a waiting list. I will not be here for Cranberry. I m very fortunate, however; that Johanna Mramor is taking over the finding and placing of volunteers. Many of you have volunteered in the past so I hope that Johanna can prevail upon you again. Instructions for the use of the hoist have been attached to the wheel post. All three canoes have been booked for a charity fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House. The event will take place on Sunday Sept.24th and will be organized by Debbie Cheong. OC Report - August Joanne Bolam

5 The annual huli s are well under way, so far over 100 paddlers have completed their huli s with a busy week ahead as teams are still scheduling. Paul Kendall has offered a course in rigging the Bradley, specifically because it has wedges. We will document and have it posted on website. Grand Masters won the Cora Cup in the Golden Masters mixed..a first for FLCC We will have had our first open house for Outrigger Member at Large Report - August, Catriona Eigenfeldt Motors: have quote for motor replacement from Maple Marine. Identification and theft prevention measures should be taken prior to installation. Decals/FLCC identification: have contacted Fastsigns and they are awaiting our order. Let me know what you need and I ll place the order. Glenda is measuring the voyager decals and requires 3 at approx $50 each. We need two FLCC decals at $20 for coach boats. Seeking approval for funds Coach boats: cleaned Aug 23. Maintenance: newsletter request for August general dock maintenance crew Response: only one person has responded. Deferred Will work with OC rep to set date and recruit active OC members to volunteer. Future meeting suggestion: Identification of major maintenance issues and plan to get items completed. End of September meeting with all club maintenance people identification, timeline, options, quotes vs volunteers. Would like divisional reps to provide input regarding work, dates and members to be involved. Should this piggy back with new dock committee? Security and asset risk reduction: - Would like to install outdoor security cameras on canoe dock. - Would like to install new gate or locking system on canoe dock. - Need to set date for asset record keeping update - Suggestions for consistent/proper asset lockup Volunteer appreciation night: Would like to organize a potluck to recognize those members in the club (beyond the board) that significantly donate their time. Currently have one club member interested do we support such an event and can we form a committee to organize? No changes in the areas of: Gas volunteer system working Cleaning. Volunteer system working for chicken coop and boat house organizing Locks. Volunteer system working Motors: John S. in charge updates to be discussed.
