OE HAWKS UPDATE #OEGrit
"A BRAVE MAN ACKNOWLEDGES THE STRENGTH IN OTHERS." BY VERONICA ROTH KATIE SELECTED THIS QUOTE BECAUSE IN LIFE, IT IS IMPORTANT TO RECOGNIZE OTHER PEOPLES TALENTS. IT IS HUMBLING TO SEE THE VARIETY OF THINGS OTHER PEOPLE EXCEL AT. THIS QUOTE HAS IMPACTED HER LIFE IN MANY WAYS, BUT ESPECIALLY IN THE SPORTS ASPECT, SPECIFICALLY HAVING THE UNDERSTANDING THAT SHE CAN'T DO IT ALL BY HERSELF, BUT WITH THE STRENGTHS OF HER TEAMMATES. S.A.L.T. of the Hawks Leadership Quote of the Week Submitted by Senior Katie Wingate, Member of the Lady Hawks Gymnastics and Track & Field Teams
HAWKLETES OF THE WEEK!! SEPTEMBER 11 TH SEPTEMBER 15 TH Olivia Rance, Junior Girls Tennis Team The female Hawklete of the Week representing the Lady Hawks Tennis Team is Olivia Rance! Olivia is always full of energy and welcomes any one onto the tennis court. She encourages anyone that she plays doubles with. Olivia loves to get better and loves to hear new ideas on how to play. Olivia represents the Lady Hawks Tennis Team through her sportsmanship, her passion, and her patience. Olivia is a fantastic tennis player because she looks for solutions while playing and she is not afraid to cheer her teammates on. Parker Esparza, Junior Boys Soccer Team The male Hawklete of the Week representing the Hawks Soccer Team is Parker Esparza! Parker is currently leading the Hawks soccer team in scoring with 4 goals. His two goals Tuesday propelled the Hawks to a victory over Gardner-Edgerton. He always gives 100% and has that never give up attitude. Parker is a great teammate who cares about others, more than about himself. His work rate is contagious on the field and as a captain he is a natural leader. Congratulations to Parker Esparza, a wonderful example of a multisport studentathlete who works hard to obtain personal and team greatness.

CHEERLEADER OF THE WEEK CONGRATULATIONS!! The first Cheerleader of the Week goes to Freshman Kate Himmelberg! Coach D: Kate embodies an OE Cheerleader. She has already been an amazing leader to the Freshman. She has a smile on her face, a positive attitude, and always gives 100%! We love her! Coach Kelly: Kate is always smiling and eager to represent OE in the best way possible! She inspires her teammates to reach higher and improve their skills each practice/game! Coach Nicole: Kate is a great leader and motivator for her squad. She is dedicated and enthusiastic in everything she does. Kate effortlessly highlights what a cheerleader should be: spirited, kind, hard-working, and fun!
CHEERLEADER OF THE WEEK CONGRATULATIONS!! This week s Cheerleader of the Week goes to our goofy and fun-loving Junior Tilson Herz! Coach Nicole: I can always count on Tilson for a good laugh. From her dance moves to her screeching encouragement at games. She always seems to remind me to not take life too seriously. She is unapologetically herself and that is one of her traits I admire the most. She works hard every single practice/game and encourages her squad to do the same. Coach Kelly: Tilson is the epitome of a cheerleader through and through!! She strives to be her best and supports her team to do the same! We love hearing her words of encouragement in class, competition practice, and games! She pushes OE Cheer to be the best!! Coach Dieckmann: She pushes herself and encourages others to give 110%! She is the first to laugh at herself, break the tension, and remind us that sometimes you just have to take a break! I love how loud and energetic she gets at games and gets the crowd involved! I'm honored to be her coach this year and am so proud at the leader she's turning into!
