1 Progress Reports Progress reports will be given to your student by Thursday December 14th. Please look over them with your student. Serve Week PFHS students are participating in Serve Week 11/30-12/9. We are kicking off Serve Week with a Key Club sponsored Blood Drive 11/30 and 12/1. Starting 12/4 we will have a food drive, blanket drive, Toys for Tots and many other events that require donations for local families in need. Students will also participate in dress up days (dress code still applies) and also a school assembly Thursday. See the attached schedule. BPA Regional Competitions Have Begun! Post Falls High School Business Professionals of America students have officially started their competitions for the Regional event being held at North Idaho College on December 14, We have 17 students competing this year in various events that include Payroll Accounting, Database Applications, ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding, Global Marketing and Administrative Support, to name just a few. Stay tuned for the results from this competition as we find out who qualifies for the State Leadership Conference in Boise in March! Hour of Code Tuesday December 12th students will participate in Hour of Code. Hour of Code is an international event to designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. Student of the Month Congratulations to the November ASB Student of the Month Sr. Abby Gennett. Abby was nominated because she is always willing to help her classmates and is an all-round nice person. She excels in the classroom, was the captain of this year s girls soccer team, and was selected to the IEL All-League Team. Great job Abby!

3 DECA Regionals On Monday January 8 th, PFHS DECA(Mr. Vordahl) will be in charge of running North Idaho DECA Regionals for the 6 th year out of 8 years. There will be 350 students from throughout the state competing in events like Entrepreneurship, Marketing Management, Business Financial Services, Hotel and Lodging, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, along with 17 other events to compete in. Judges are local managers, owners, and executives. Good luck PFHS DECA! PSAT Scores This week your student will be creating their College Board account in Biology class. This account will allow them to access their PSAT scores, interpretation of test scores, test-prep resources, future registration for SAT, etc. The PSAT / NMSQT is designed to help students gain early insight into the skills they will need for success in high school, college or their choice of career. Additionally, the PSAT / NMSQT measures the same types of skills that are measured by the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), which Juniors will take second semester as a graduation requirement in the State of Idaho. With the PSAT / NMSQT score report, a student can see how they performed on each section and question. The results will be used to help us better understand students strengths and weaknesses so we can help them improve areas that need additional work as they prepare for graduation and college readiness.
