Oh, and don t forget how we celebrated Christmas at the Stutz Business Center and rang in the New Year with a special mid-holiday dance! Proof again that Indy Dancers is THE party group in town! Now, get ready to have a ton of fun in This month, fine tune your East Coast Swing skills with an hour workshop at the Greenwood Moose, Feb. 1. All levels of dancers will enjoy learning or reviewing basic moves and technique. Scott and Yulia always provide a fun time of learning, while challenging you at the same time. March is party time and Indy Dancers won t let a good party occasion go to waste. This year, Mardis Gras begins on Tuesday, March 4, and that is dance night for Indy Dancers. Wear your beads, masks and costumes. We will also have a few extras for you as well!! Remember what a blast we had during our anniversary dance at the Indiana Roof last March? Well, hold on for another fabulous celebration! You definitely don t want to miss our 31 st anniversary celebration at the on Saturday, March 15. Come and see how our most popular venue will transform into a beautiful ballroom. But that s not all!! For the first time in many years, the evening offers you a fabulous full-course meal and dancing to some of the best music in town. When dancing a progressive dance (fox-trot, polka, waltz, etc.) move in a counter-clockwise fashion around the outside edge of the dance floor. 2. Slower dancers using side movements or stop-and-go patterns should dance in an imaginary inside lane, also counter-clockwise. 3. Dancers who stay in the same spot (swing, chacha, freestyle, line dance, etc.) should keep to the center, leaving the outside edge of the dance floor open. 4. Be polite and courteous, even when collisions occasionally occur. Remember courtesy is contagious! 5. Other General Rules: a. Never carry a drink onto the dance floor. b. Never back up against the line of dance. c. Line dancers should form several small lines rather than extended one line which will block the fast lane. d. When a dance floor is crowded, it is advisable for everyone to take small steps and travel in one direction to avoid collisions with other dancers. e.
