All the hard work, time and donations of booze and food were greatly appreciated. We received tons of compliments on the decorations; in fact, GCBA RC Lloyd Bogue from Ashtabula Yacht Club asked how we made the palm trees and asked what we planned to do with them after the weekend. I told him they were extremely inexpensive to make and due to lack of someplace to store them we would dispose of them Sunday morning. He asked if he could have them for the GCBA Summer Rendezvous. So we gave them to them and the palm trees will be used for another event this summer. He said he would let everyone know where they came from. That s pretty cool, once again, one boat club supporting another boat club. At the AYC Ball Saturday night, PC Tom MacDonald (FYC) was sworn in as AYC 2013 Commodore, PC Dan Thomas (FYC) AYC Vice Commodore and PC Steve Hyder (DBBC) as AYC Rear Commodore. Congratulations, Commodores! In the month of February Gentleman Damian and I attended Elba-Mar Boat Club s Ball honoring Commodore John White and Lady Tammy which was held at the Holiday Inn in Southfield, MI and North Cape Yacht Club s Ball which was held at Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg. It never ceases to amaze me the fantastic job that all of the clubs do organizing and planning the club balls. It really is an honor to be able to attend them representing TSC. It has been a pleasure meeting all the new Commodores and we ve had a blast at all the balls we ve attended so far. On behalf of the whole club, I want to thank the TSC Auxiliary and Blue Gavel for their very generous donations to the General Fund that will be used for the club property appraisal. As always, the members of these two organizations go above and beyond to earn money to help support and make TSC the great club that it is. THANKS EVERYONE! Also, a quick note of thanks, Marc Snyder recently donated a freezer to be used behind the bar. The old one was on its last leg, a loooong time ago! The next planning meeting for the TSC Homecoming will be Wed, March 7:00pm at the club. If you want to get involved and can come to the meeting, please do. As we all know this is a huge TSC event and we can use all the help we can get. Vice Commodore Dan Maenle Thank you to everyone who worked the AYC Room, Mary and I had a great time, as always! It is fun to see everyone and chill out. I am very happy to report that we have two members coming into provisional membership. They are: Joel and Lori Rupp Greg and Dana Tiell If you happen to see them at the club, be sure to welcome them! I am also happy to report the two members coming into full membership. They are: Gary and Denise Hersch Ed and Tammy Marckel Welcome to both couples, you are such an asset with all you have done this year. We are looking for new members so if you have friends you think might want to join feel free to let me know Hope to see everyone at the club - Think Spring! See the flyer for details, many PC s and current bridge members have tickets to sell so contact one of them if you would like to purchase tickets. This is a fund raiser for the 2014 TSC Ball. Tickets are also available for the fundraiser for the Opening of the Port which will be held at MRYC on Sunday, March 24th (see flyer for details) and all bridge members have tickets to sell.
