4 Junior High- Another week another good performance by the Jr. High Cross Country team. They finished as a team with a total score of 59 which was low enough to get them third place. Chapel Hill and Bland finished ahead of them this week. Jacob Watts won the race with a time of 12 minutes and 1 second, Alberto Serrano was on his heals again finishing 3rd with a time of 12 minutes and 25 seconds. Brennon Seymore came in 7th place with a time of 13 minutes and 12 seconds. Isaac Foley and Turner South rounded out the team with Isaac finishing 23rd overall with a 14 minute and 23 second finish and Turner finishing 24th overall with a 14 minute and 24 second finish. I was really proud of the boys coming out and performing well at this meet. This meet had different elements that came into play during the race that made it challenging but our boys stepped up and rose to the occasion. Assistant coach Dylan Foster did a really good job helping me out and keeping the times and motivation of the boys up. High School- We did not have enough for a team this week but we had four individuals that showed up ready to run and performed really well. Thomas took 3rd place overall in the JV race with a time of 21 minutes and 35 seconds. Joseph Granack finished with a time of 26 minutes and 16 seconds, Hudson Northcutt finished with a time of 26 minutes and 53 seconds, and Dillon Huie finished with a time of 33 minutes and 25 seconds. I was really proud of these boys for showing up and competing. It shows heart to come out and compete every week instead of taking the easy way out. This race the elements played a huge role. Ten minutes into the race the bottom fell out of the sky and turned half the race into a mud slide. The boys shifted into 4X4 and finished strong. On Saturday, September 28, the Cross Country boys will compete in Mt. Pleasant at the Titus County Fair Invitational. Page 4
