The Sulphur Bluff ISD joins other districts across the state to celebrate the countless contributions of these dedicated community leaders. Local school board members work tirelessly and decote hundreds of hours to lead our students to success. Setting aside time in January is one small way to celebrate their service to our community and say thanks for caring so much about the future of every child enrolled in our schools, said Robin Ross, SBISD superintendent. School board members shoulder critical responsibilities as advocates for our children. They face difficult challenges and make hard decisions with the overall goal of promoting student achievement. Working as a vital link between the community and the classroom, the board is responsible for the annual budget. They serve as the passionate voice for public education and help ensure the future of our state and nation. We truly appreciate every board member for voluntarily tackling the enormous job of governing our local school districts, Mr. Ross said. The board members serving SBISD pictured above L -R front row are Bill Wilder, Terry Goldsmith, Robin Ross; middle Brian Dorner, Troy Emerson, Toney Hurley; back row John Vance, Billy Emerson. Thank you for serving as a board member!

4 Beta State Convention- We had a great state convention this past weekend. All of our members gave 110% in all that they did from personal competition to all working together campaigning for Jackson Dailey for VP. At the last moment we had to make some final adjustments to our Banner and the sound technician could not find the music on our CD for the campaign skit until 5 seconds before it was to be played. but that is what makes it a true Beta convention! reports Mrs. South, one of Beta s sponsors. They placed third in scrapbook, with many thanks to Dillon Harred and Virginia Quirroz, the amazing artists of the club. Beta dedicated this year s scrapbook to them, recognizing all of the time and effort that they put into their book. Jackson Dailey did a tremendous job running for state office, and we are very proud of him and of all of our Sulphur Bluff Beta members for giving their best! They do plan on going to National Convention in Nashville, TN. June 21 st -24 th. Beta hosted the School Board at an appreciation dinner this Thursday. Plans for the annual Beta Stew are in progress.
