During our year there has been some wonderful times for us, all the rides and dinners with the chapter members has really been terrific. Looking forward to going to Shrimps R Us in January. This month started with the Holly Hill Christmas Parade, we had a good turnout and I want to thank everyone who came. I also want to thank Trevor and Carol, Buddy and Sandy and Jim and Linda for coming to the house on Friday night to help Irene set up the flag poles for Saturday. On Saturday the 8th is our Christmas Party at Linda's House you are to bring a $10:00 gift for a male and female. At the Chapter meeting we will be collecting gifts for our family, if we need gifts wrapped it will be at Jim and Linda's at 6pm. We will also announce The Couple Of The Year at the meeting and the Individual Of The Year. Don't forget it is Ugly Sweater Contest so bring it on!!! Our wish is for you all to have a great Holiday Season. Don't forget Shrimps n Us on the 1st of January, if you have never been don't miss it. 4 Chapter FL1-H Page 4 Joining and Belonging Jerry Wells This is the last article for I can t say as Trevor did that this is my last article for awhile but it is definitely the last for this year. Looking back it has been a good year. I did some traveling, a couple of cruises, a trip to the keys, and I got engaged. As Marion observed, we have been going together for almost two years and haven t had one argument. Some say that will change after February when we get married. I hope not. The new year will definitely be different. I can t wait to see what else is in store for us. One is that we are going for a cruise on the new Celebrity s Edge in March. This is a new state of the art cruise ship. It was just recently launched. From the pictures I have seen it is going to be different and amazing. Again if I wasn t a member of GWRRA I may have never heard of the ship and definitely wouldn t be sailing on it in March. I can t blame GWRRA for Marion and I being together. That was because her Air conditioner broke and I replaced it for her. She does enjoy all the people in GWRRA and the motorcycle. We have been on several rides with our chapter and the district. We are already signed up for Shrimps R Us on January 1. If you haven t been there don t miss it. It is a nice ride in rural Florida to get there and if you like shrimp in any style it is all you can eat once you get there. You can meet and rub elbows with fellow bikers from across Florida and probably other states. Don t miss Carlos from Georgia. I know if he can he will be there. It is a good kickoff to the new year. If you are on staff with your chapter you won t want to miss the CD conference the following weekend at the Hilton in Altamonte Springs. This is where all new policies and changes from national are discussed. Meet other officers from other chapters doing the same job you are. Get ideas on how to do your job better. There is some fun along the way. After all that is the moto for Florida District so we can t have a gathering without some fun. Keep posted on events other chapters have and attend as many as you can. That is why you belong to GWRRA. Don t forget the District rally in March. 5 Chapter FL1-H Page 5 Never Ride Faster than Your Angel Can Fly Trevor Simpson Ride Educator This will be my last article for the newsletter, as of the first of the year we will be traveling for about 6 months on and off. For this reason I will be stepping down from any official staff position. I don't think i would be able to give 100 % from the road. My short trip will be in Feb. to New York for 2 weeks after that my daughter comes to Florida in march, then we go on the road for a 3 week trip to North Carolina. The long trip will be in April for about 3 Months, we will be traveling to the north east of USA all the way to Canada, then across to New York and down to Kentucky before coming back to Florida. Thanks to all those who went on the Christmas parade it was great, thanks to Chapter FL1-k who came out to support us on that event GREAT JOB TO ALL. First of the year will start off with a ride to SHRIMP-R-US and for anyone who has not been there before you are missing the best shrimp dinner there is. The ride over is always great but sometimes the weather does not work in our favor but its all for FUN. RIDE SAFE CAROL AND TREVOR 5

12 Chapter FL1-H Page 12 News from Public Relations Linda McGinnis This has been a fantastic year for FL1-H. We had a lot of participation at our events. We had a load of laughs and FUN during the chapter meetings. The wonderful weather did not cooperate on everything, however we just improvised and loaded into 4 wheel vehicles and attended. This chapter means so much to us as we are sure it does to every member. The friendships that have been made will last a lifetime. Yes we may be smaller in numbers, but we still have a great turnout at the Rallies and chapter visits. We have averaged 14 or more chapter members attending. Everyone should be proud of your chapter and what we have been able to accomplish this year. As just a brief recap, Bikeweek saw us sell OUT of our tickets for Rider Education, Florida District Rally had us bringing home several awards, during the summer we had very good rides, Our annual School Supply donations to Halifax Behavioral Center was one of the best the chapter has ever accomplished, The chapter was honored to be in the local newspaper for several articles, the chapter yard sale was a big success, Biketoberfest Breakfast was once again a very well attended event. We want to thank everyone who is a part of this great chapter. Without your support and assistance, we would not be able to grow and have so much friendship to enjoy. Thank You Linda 12
