2 from the desk at T Bar... The fifth annual Harvest Classic Angus Sale at Johnstone Auction Mart, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan is on November 12th at 2:00 P.M. After such an early harvest, you have a great opportunity to get away and select seed stock from a great group of progressive breeders who have been supplying central and southern Saskatchewan with quality easy calving sires each spring. Many of the breeders involved in Harvest Classic cannot justify hosting a female sale each fall, therefore for most, this is their production sale. Their offering is selected from the replacement pasture as the goal with each consignor is to produce front pasture breeding stock that will add value to a program. Consider the opportunity to add fresh new genetics and a new cow family into your program! The lineup is powerful yet diverse stout, broody bred females many with early services where in numerous cases, you can pay for your purchase with the first bull calf. The 2017 heifer calves are exciting with a highly competitive edge bring your next generation to the sale so they can select their own project. It will be well worth the trip! The strong calf market this fall is showing us the strength and value of owning livestock we can only wish the Government would get out of our business and let the cowboys do their own thing they have done a great job for the past century why meddle now? The salvage market has remained steady, therefore this is an excellent time to eliminate those non-achievers that have been taking up space and pasture and replace them with young, fresh genetics to prepare for the future market.
