You name it, it was probably FOR SALE at the Kfly Market. I even found a handy dandy Fisherman s Scale to weigh and measure my salmon catch in Puget Sound next year. We re not certain how anyone did selling or buying during the Market but there was a lot to peruse and haggle over. There is still some very good stuff left. In fact, Paul Klahn is selling his business and has lots of items still available. See a sampling inside (page 4) and check out his entire list at Happy shopping! 2 PAGE 2 P IK E S P EA K F LY ER THE VOICE OF EAA 72 Excerpt from Stephen Ducoff of the organizing committee AOPA President/CEO Mark Baker declared the Colorado Springs Regional Fly-in, Perfect. Wow, can t get any better than that! The numbers are estimates, but Mark Baker said we had 2,100 attendees, over 300 aircraft and 800 automobiles in parking. The last count of volunteers was 325 (we needed 300). EAA Chapter 72 members and families helped make up the volunteer headcount. In addition to the pancake breakfast, some worked Friday night before the event to set up tables and chairs and some worked with tear down after the show. AOPA had a flawless process in place to get the grills going and sausage and pancakes out on time to serve over 800 breakfasts. Congratulations to all who cooked, collected and stored the food to keep it all running smoothly. (AEFCO), volunteered to help the chapter with the pancake breakfast, cooking, running food to keep the serving table full, collecting breakfast tickets, and later cleaning up the cook tent. Young Eagle flights, the open house, the AOPA fly- In have all enjoyed almost perfect weather. Even the Kfly-Market had perfect weather (if you were a duck). Actually it was perfect weather for the market since nobody could fly, except the ducks, and we were able to drive around to open hangars and look at stuff for sale. It seems that some sold a lot and others not so much but maybe a good start for the Kfly Market, thanks to Dave Elliott for making his new hangar available. It will be up to next year s board to determine if the Fly-Market will become an annual event or not but I think we learned a lot this year. I would like to thank all of the chapter members and many friends who took part in cooking and serving breakfast at the AOPA Fly-In on September 26 TH. I hope that all had a good time. The club made $ for our efforts. Thanks again. We have Young Eagles again this month and meeting following. See ya at the meeting.
