2 MARCH GREETINGS What a great time we had in Wildwood, at our quarterly meeting! The meeting was hosted by Russ Cummings. He did a great job arranging for the facilities for sleeping, the hospitality and banquet facilities. Thank you Russ for a job well done. Kudos also to Sheila Whitman and all the wives who worked tirelessly to ensure the hospitality room functioned without a hitch. The dinner was held at the Continental Country Club. It was a very nice venue. The diner was wonderful and went off with just one little hitch: Angie, we are sorry for that. Russ had a little surprise for every member of the chapter that was presented when dessert was served. A pint of Plant City strawberries was put by every plate. If you have never had a Plant City strawberry, you haven t lived. Thank you Russ. By my count, we had 51 signed up for dinner. Due to sickness or other circumstances, we had 43 for dinner. Signed up but missing were: Chris & Ginny Billingsley, Sharon Hoagland & Dan Young, Bob Schflake & Kathy O Such, Ralph & Barbara Ormes, Typing Kathy O Such's name reminds me to wish one and all a happy St. Patrick's day and offer this little Irish prayer: May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead. Myron Fineberg brought his service dog AMOS with him to the meeting. He gave us all a little insight into what these animals go through to become service dogs and the costs involved. I am sure everyone knows by now that LTC Doug Morris passed away February 17. His picture as a Captain is on the web site. I have also been informed that Mrs. Charles Walsh has passed away but I haven t any details. She lived in Reno, NV. Chapter XXI Officers: New Member Ed Chandler:

If you have not received your 2017 Membership Card, please contact Tom Tomlin ASAP HEALTH AND WELFARE 1. Steve Epkins He and Lynda are doing well. Lynda is still receiving some chemo treatment and is working part time. Steve says he is still happily teaching ROTC and enjoying it. He also stated he will continue to be the Chapter XXI ROTC Awards coordinator. We sincerely thank you. 2. Steve Karlow Stan and Chris are both doing good. Stan continues to find ways to use his disabled side and is slowly regaining some strength. Chris reports the Cyber Knife radiation treatment is still working; no increase in the size of the tumor. We all wish you both the very best. 3. Al Boman - Toni is now at home and it was so good to see you both at the meeting, if only for a few hours! Way to go Toni! Our best wishes for a good recovery. We know it has been a long year for both of you. 4. Murl Tullis Along with a generous donation, he sent a note stating that at 91 years young, he is still building hot rods! (He says that this is the last one! Really???) 5. Bob Cherry Bob had surgery approximately 1 ½ months ago. After returning home, he became ill and was re hospitalized with pneumonia. He later returned home, had to go back in the hospital with an infection from the original surgery, and is now in rehab. Maryanne goes to the rehab center everyday and brings Bob home during the day. He is slowly getting his strength back. Hurry up and get well, Bob. We miss you and Marianne at the meetings. 6. Chris Billingsly - Chris was transported to the hospital the Saturday morning of our meeting with complications. He was released & Ginny took him home to rest. Let's keep Chris in our prayers. 7. Bob Schaflake - didn't make it to the meeting due to sickness, ie tummy problems.
