THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSORS

PRESIDENTS WELCOME Dear Club Members Welcome back to the Sunshine Coast Junior AFL CLUB OF THE YEAR 2012! I would like to welcome back our past players and welcome our new players and their families to the club. I would also like to thank last year s committee for all their hard work and it is great to see both new and old faces on the committee for I was very proud and humbled to be named sunshine Coast Junior Club Volunteer of the Year in 2012 and it would not have been possible without the fantastic support from not only my family but the Caloundra Panthers family. I look forward to contributing 100% of my efforts again in A special mention to Leanne Hipwood who has been honoured at the Sunshine Coast Australia Day Awards with Sunshine Coast Recreational Sport Volunteer of the Year in January this year. Leanne along with our committee works tirelessly to improve our club and this lady will always have a welcoming smile on her face. Congratulations Leanne! A very big thank you to all our sponsors for both the senior and junior club during tough financial times. It is very much appreciated and without your support we would not be able to meet the running costs of our club. This is a very special year for Caloundra AFL Panthers as it marks our 40 th anniversary. We have very generous sponsors this year that have enabled the club to purchase new playing jersey s from under 8 s through to the senior ranks and I would like to say a big thank you to Telstra, Evolve Plastering Group, Sleep Tite Bedding, Pattons Discount Meats, Citimark, E-Mini Investor, Allfreight Carrying, Squire Development Group, Glover Building Group, Caloundra RSL and Bank of Qld Caloundra. Please support these businesses as they are supporting not only your club but our juniors as well. Last year was a great year on the footy field with both under 12 sides making the finals and the under 16 s taking out the Premiership! Well done to the boys, Scott Hedley and his coaching staff. Not only did they perform well on the field they were a tight unit all year and always helped out where ever they could. I look forward to watching this group progress into our under 18 s and seniors sides. It was also our first year for the youth girls competition in which we had a very young side but their efforts could not be denied. I hope to see the girls go around again this year. It has been a tough off season for the Panthers with the devastating fire that tore through the clubhouse late in After finishing the season on such a high note, it was very upsetting getting a call late in the night to say the club was all engulfed in flames. When I arrived at the club I have to admit I had a tear in my eye after the huge renovation effort of 2012 and the amount of time and effort the committee had put into the club. The turn out on the weekend following the fire from both the Panther community and surrounding community was nothing short of amazing. The hard work and fundraising efforts have seen the club renovated again and looking better than ever. I would like

to take the time to thank each and every person for your hard work, support, personal and financial contribution, encouragement and thoughts getting the club back ready for Please take the time to look around our club as we are very proud of what has been achieved. The Buy a Brick campaign is still running and please contact our committee if you are interested in having your name added to the club s history. Also keep in mind we hire the clubhouse out for functions so if you are looking for a venue to hire please contact us. Auskick will be again run at the club for 12 weeks this year. This is aimed at boys or girls from age 5 and up and is a great introduction to AFL. Please contact myself or the club if you know of anyone interested. The senior club has stepped up in 2013 and playing Division 2 in the SEQ league. We greatly encourage our junior players and their families to get down to Panther park on a Saturday afternoon to watch and support our senior teams. A great level of football to be seen with a few of our under 16 premiership players possibly getting a run. Good luck boys! I look forward to meeting with you all and cheering along our boys and girls in 2013! I have never seen the Panther Community as strong as it has been over the past 12 months. I look forward to seeing our club run out in their new jerseys. Jamie Glover Junior President GO THE PANTHERS CALOUNDRA PANTHERS SUNSHINE COAST JUNIOR AFL CLUB OF THE YEAR 2012

MEMBERSHIP FEES: The Caloundra Junior AFL annual fees for 2013 are : Under 8: $170 Under 10: $185 Under 12: $195 Under 14: $205 Under 16: $215 Under 18: $230 Girls: $99 (subsidised by league) All fees must be paid in full before the first game. The club receives many enquiries about how the level of fees are set. There are a range of factors considered when setting membership fees that are affordable for everyone. Below is a snapshot of the costs associated with running the Caloundra Junior AFL League affiliation fees The League requires each participant in the competition to be registered with the League for a set fee depending on the age group. This fee also includes player insurance. These fees are significant and impact greatly on the club's finances. Umpire Fees The Sunshine Coast Umpires Association provides umpires for all Junior Fixtures in the SCJAFL competition. The costs of providing umpires for the 2012 season $3,000. It is expected that costs will be similar this year. First Aid All home clubs in the SCJAFL competition are required to provide a qualified First Aid practitioner for each field in use. Ground Rental The Caloundra AFL currently have a lease agreement with the Sunshine Coast Council whereby we are required to pay for rates, water, electricity, ground maintenance and building improvements Uniforms and equipment Each year the club purchases new match balls, playing Jersey and training equipment for the players to utilise. In the past few years as part of Membership fees each player has received merchandise provided by the club, 2010 training shirt, 2011 socks and bag, 2012 club polo. This year each player will receive a pair of socks and shorts as this year we will be wearing our 40 year anniversary uniform. Wages Unlike other clubs on the coast Caloundra Junior AFL club does not pay any wages, all members of the committee are on a volunteer basis, including those that run the canteen. In 2012 the canteen produced an income of over $11,000, if this is to continue we need the volunteers to come forward and help out each week.

Girls Football This year is the inaugural year for girls in Football on the Sunshine Coast, to ensure this competition gets up and running the SCJAFL has subsidised each female player.
