4 Neighbourhood Watch 4 A Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is in operation. Co-ordinators have been assigned to cover specific patches in the village to ensure information is passed on as quickly as possible should an incident occur. Your co-ordinator will contact you either by , telephone or a note through your letterbox as necessary. A newsletter is published periodically but more information can be found on the Barton in Fabis Parish Council website. Keep Britain Tidy The village enters the Keep Britain Tidy competition (along with other villages throughout Nottinghamshire), and has done so for several years. The annual judging takes place during the first two weeks of June, however, we are not notified of the date as the judges turn up unannounced. They will be looking at house frontages, paths and roads to ensure they are neat and tidy and weed and litter free. You will receive a Newsletter in early May reminding you that the competition is due to take place and what you need to do. East Midlands in Bloom The village also enters the East Midlands in Bloom Competition which takes place during the first two weeks in July. The judges will be looking at front gardens, green spaces, flower beds, innovative ideas, local involvement etc, in addition to a neat, tidy and litter free village. For this competition the date of judging will be announced prior to the event. Again more information about the competition will be provided in a newsletter nearer the time. 4
