Beginning This class is a great opportunity for parents to learn a new sport with their teenagers. By the end of the course, you will have learned aspects basic to fencing footwork, body position and blade control, protocol, offense, defense and tournament play. Equipment provided includes foil, mask, glove, and jacket. Please wear comfortable clothing to include long pants such as warm-ups, T- shirts and gym shoes. This is a great opportunity for high school teens to have some fun and test their skills against other local hoopsters. Fun, teamwork and manship are stressed, not competition. Game scores will not be kept. Recommended for kids who have participated in the KidZone class. 10 players/team. A 1 st grade player may register for a 2 nd grade team only if he/she has participated in KidZone Basketball or has had prior experience. 8 weeks of practice beginning January 16 or January 18. 6 HIGH 5 SPORTS Kids will develop fundamental skills in a wide variety of ; each week a different one will be highlighted. TITANS WRESTLING This is a great sport for all sizes and types of athletes, beginners as well as those who have experience. Sportsmanship, wrestling techniques, and conditioning will be taught. The NACC Titans will wrestle in the Junior Metro Youth Wrestling League. Children must be four years of age by 12/31/2005 to participate. Age groups are as of 12/31/2005. Wrestlers must provide or purchase their own singlet and headgear. Qualified volunteer coaches are needed (background check required). 7 ULTIMATE FOOTBALL Registration for this program began in April, and several teams are full; please inquire about openings ( ). This non-contact football program consists of the fundamentals of football while combining the rules of football, soccer, hockey, ultimate Frisbee and basketball. League features one practice per week and games on Saturday mornings. Participants register by practice location, not by school. Lightweight and heavyweight divisions are implemented so players are not limited to positions based on weight restrictions. Practices are held two to three times per week with most games being played on Saturday mornings. Physicals are highly recommended before competing in this program. Youth Football and the Fort Collins Soccer Club s fall season coincide; youngsters may not participate in both. Practice attendance is mandatory; players must attend practices to receive equal playing time in games. NOTE: Equipment handout begins August 21; therefore, deadline to register is August 18.
