Welcome SGAA to summer golf!! We had a lot of play in the warm February: in fact 588 rounds. I was lucky enough to have a hole-in-one and was truly surprised at our Tee Off Banquet with a trophy (Thanks Earl and Claude). Speaking of the Tee Off Banquet, we had 81 attendees. Petite Violette did a great job of hosting us, and the meal was delightful. I invited Bob Thibodeau of the Georgia Adaptive Golf Program to tell us about a program that assists people with special needs to get back into golf. He is looking for volunteers to assist at River Pines on the 2 nd and 4 th Tuesdays of the month from 10am to 12pm. You can find out more about the program at and click on Adaptive Golf Program. This next week Monday, March 6 at Cherokee run the start time is 9am, Tuesday, March 7 at Southland is 8:30am and Wednesday, March 8 at Stone Mountain is 9am. This is just to check to see who is paying attention!! I want to especially thank Danny Boyles for the great job of addressing our new members at the banquet and Danny Huckaby for the great pictures. I did not know he had this skill, and he is always surprising me with his multiple talents. Check out the pics posted on the web. And, thank Dan Hall and Jim Carroll for making the banquet a success. And thanks to the many others who pitched in and handled the multiple things that needed to be done. Great Teamwork! Let s get out and play some summer golf. Remember the grass is coming in, and there are sand bottles to fill your divots. Let s make every course we play better than we found it. Hit um straight!! Joe

Dave had to find a place for us to play in a very short length of time. Thanks Dave, Harvey, and Jim for all you do for SGAA.

I hope all enjoyed this location as much as I did. The new member orientation was well attended, and we had a very lively discussion.

It is always good to get a fresh perspective on the way things are handled by our group. Thanks to all who attended.

I would like to commend Dave Mueller and crew for their work, when Sugar Creek could not handle our group. Dave had to find a place for us to play in a very short length of time. Thanks Dave, Harvey, and Jim for all you do for SGAA. I hope all got out and enjoyed the good weather. The Tee Off Banquet was an enormous success. We had a good crowd, good food and good program. I came away with several ideas about ways to make things better for all SGAA members. It is always good to get a fresh perspective on the way things are handled by our group. It also means that 20 players are required to hold a winter tournament. It also means that close-ups will be paid for all tournaments except the annual tournament. The probability of the latter increases with the number of people you tell about the former. (I especially like this one as I shot an 85 followed the next day by a 103 *Editor Al) LAW 3: Brand new golf balls are water-magnetic. Though this cannot be proved in the lab, it is a known fact that the more expensive the golf ball, the greater its attraction to water. (and woods)
