2 H.W.C.S.S. GOLF TOUR RULES 2018 NOTE: ALL G.H.A.C.AND O.F.S.S.A eligibility rules apply! 1. Play goes RAIN OR SHINE with the exception of thunder and lighting. In the event of inclement weather, teachers/supervisors are required to phone the golf course to make sure the course is not closed. Call should be made at 10:00 am on the day in question! 2. R.C.G.A rules govern all play. 3. Players are responsible for recording the scores of all players in the group. Scores must be recorded at the completion of each hole. *** One scorecard, with all four players first and last names and the school name for each player must be turned in to the official scoring area. Scoring should be determined among the foursome, coaches/parents should not be involved in the discussion when scorecards are being tallied and submitted *** 4. If at any time the players are unsure as to the correct procedure, the team/individual must play the ball as it lies, and play a second ball(s) (depending on the format for the event) as the team deems legal, and a final decision will be made at the conclusion of the round (record both scores for later decision). 5. Balls hit out of bounds (white stakes / local rule boundaries) must be replayed from the exact location where the original stroke was played. Penalty is stroke and distance! 6. The DRESSCODE for the 2018 league is as follows; Conservative golf shirt and full length pants or knee length shorts. 7. SMOKING POLICY PROHIBITS SMOKING on the grounds before, during, and after any tournaments. 8. A team is comprised of any 4 eligible student-athletes of a school. It can be 4 entirely different student-athletes at the discretion of the coach. Please familiarize yourself with rule# 9 regarding qualifying for the G.H.A.C. championship best results will be used to determine two alternate players who will advance to the G.H.A.C. championship in the individual category. Players therefore are required to participate in at least 3 of 4 events to qualify. These are two individuals not represented on the first place team that will represent Hamilton-Wentworth in the G.H.A.C. championship. 10. It is expected that participants will conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates adherence to the behaviour policy of each school and the board s Athletic Behaviour Code. 11. Inappropriate behaviour including but not limited to abusive language, throwing any golf club or equipment, or damage to the golf course etc. Will result in a disciplinary investigation, which in turn may result in demerit points charged to the offending school team. QUALIFIERS In case of a tie for the tour team championship, the following tie-breaking formula will be used. Total 1 st place team finishes X 50 points Total 2 nd place team finishes X 40 points Total 3 rd place team finishes X 30 points Total 4 th place team finishes X 20 points If a tie still results, the lowest scoring average for events 2,3 and 4 will be used. In the event of a tie in identifying the 2 INDIVIDUALS who will qualify for the G.H.A.C. Championship who are not on the winning team, a sudden death playoff hole(s) will be played following the 4 th event. Page 3 of 7

The team score is the total lowest three 18 holes scores of the team s four players. Record all players scores on each hole as team score will be calculated at the conclusion of the event. at 12:00pm to make sure the course hasn t been closed.
