Thanks to all who participated in our Men s Member/Guest. We were more than pleased with a fantastic showing of 44 teams. Unfortunately, Mother Nature prevented the completion of the Shootout to determine the Overall Champion. Congratulations to all the flight winners and we look forward to seeing your guests again next year if not sooner!! Despite battling bumpy greens after aerification, we also had a great turnout for our Independence Day Golf Tournament with 76 participants. Kevin and Nick created quite the line up of on course rules and games to truly emphasize the fun atmosphere inherent to this event. Although the originally scheduled date for Championship Day suffered the wrath of Mother Nature once again, we are pleased to announce the rescheduled date of Sunday, August 24th. Some details have changed, so please visit page 2 for updated information. Additional featured events in the month of August include the Ladies Golf Association One Day Member/Guest. The Jokers Wild theme created by the Tournament Committee will surely lend to an exciting day both on and off the course. Sign up deadline is Tueday, August 12th. The highly anticipated Derby Championship begins at the end of August with the Kick Off Party on Saturday 8/30. All Members of Pawleys Plantation are invited to attend, as the Kick Off Party acts as a substitute for September s Member Mixer. Qualifying for the Derby Championship takes place on Sunday 8/31 and participation is open to Full Golf Members only. The Derby Championship for both Men and Women will occur on Monday 9/1. Additional details for this event will be sent out shortly. Don t miss Chef s Night on Thursday 8/21 as Chef Leon and his team present a delectable a la carte menu. Fifth Place Oberg / Griggs Sixth Place Haas / Anderson Mark your calendars for the Derby Championship August 30th thru September 1st Sign up available in the Golf Shop On The Course Dan Saber and this maintenance team will perform Round 2 of our summer maintenance program. After a very successful aerification process in early July, the primary focus in August will be verticutting tees, fairways, approaches and greens. This process cleans, thins and removes thatch to promote a healthy canopy and new growth as we head into the fall season. We expect this process to be less invasive than aerification and hope for a quick recovery. Fall Overseed process will be conducted October 13th-17th. The course will remain open during this time. In an effort to reduce oncourse cart traffic and keep our fairways green and healthy, please remember to pair up when applicable. Remember to always check into the Golf Shop before beginning your round. Keep it in the short grass!

We've had fantastic turnout for these since March, and will continue them through summer. Start time is 1:30pm and you'll be with us for 1 to 2 hours, depending upon number of students. Still $35 per person. Call the school at at least a week in advance - most weeks we have a waiting list! Don't forget to bring your grand kids with you when you book a 1, 2 or 3 half-day golf schools. If Junior is 16 or under, there is no charge for tuition. These are fun programs where you'll sharpen your skills, and then your grandchild can play the course with you for no fee. If you have family visiting in Myrtle Beach, we offer the same features at our Grande Dunes Resort Course site. Our longtime Class A PGA teacher David Olberding will take good care of you there!
