2 Membership Information IMPORTANT YEAR END REMINDER TO ALL MEMBERS Please be aware that annual dues are billed on December 1st. They are non refundable and are not subject to proration upon resignation. It is imperative that all requests for transfers or resignations are in writing and received by November 30, 2016 c/o Lori Hetherington. In order to resign in good standing, all accrued charges, as well as future installments of existing payment plans, must be paid in full by November 30, Your written request should be sent to the attention of Lori Hetherington at the Club or may be sent to or by the November 30th deadline. President s Message We are approaching the end of our fiscal year, and I would like to thank each and every Club member and all of our excellent staff for a terrific year. The past twelve months have been marked by an influx of enthusiastic junior members (a few of whom have graciously included this experienced member in their matches), the first full year of the grill room and a season of superb events. While the growth of our junior ranks is exciting, we are steadily graduating many of our friends into our esteemed senior membership categories. The Club is financially healthy; however, we need to be mindful of membership trends and would benefit from the addition of full golf members. With numerous area clubs going through significant, and sometimes traumatic, changes please seek opportunities to act as an ambassador to expose your friends to BBC. Our Membership Committee is exploring ways to welcome members of other clubs seeking a change, so keep your eyes open for opportunities to extend BBC s hospitality. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to join our amazing Board of Trustees in an effort to effectively serve you, our members. Please do not hesitate to let me know anything that I can do to make your membership experience more enjoyable. 3 Golf Shop November I would like to thank the entire Bedens Brook membership for the continued support in my eighth year of managing the golf operation. The professional staff and I hope our production of events, our ability to run the teaching program, and a well stocked golf shop gave all of you the value added experience you expect at one of the top facilities in New Jersey. We plan to continue to grow and add to the Junior Golf Program. The addition of PGA Junior League and other fun clinics have enhanced an already well received program. Mark Dharte and Bret Gracey plan to add even more opportunities for your child in Please be sure to read the late, spring newsletter for all the info regarding the 2017 Junior Golf Program. Golf is a great game because you can play it both socially and competitively. I appreciate all those who played in Club events this year. Many of our members have a busy schedule outside of the Cub and thus it makes it difficult to play our Cub events. My goal, along with the Golf Committee, is to find ways to make the schedule more appealing to everyone as a whole and grow our events going forward. If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding the tournament program, please feel free to reach out at any time. In an effort to keep the shop new and fresh, I carry a wide range of goods to please all our members and guests. I am always open to suggestions to what the membership would like me to carry in the golf shop. Please feel free to stop by or send an regarding your thoughts on equipment, apparel, or accessories that you feel would make your shopping experience better. New for 2017 will be the Fennec and Johnny O line of shirts for men and juniors along with Greg Norman for women. I appreciate your patronage of the golf shop and hope you will think of me for your holiday needs. Keep your eye out for some flash sales. I currently have a nice selection of outerwear for golfers and paddle players along with some shirts to match. I will also have accessories such as laser range finders, GPS yardage finders, belts, glass wear and leather headcovers that make great stocking stuffers. The golf shop will be open through December 17 th, and, remember, I am a great gift wrapper! Once again thanks for making 2016 a great year for the entire golf staff. Bret Gracey and Mark Dharte along with Chris Tostevin and Steve Hillier will be returning for the 2017 season. A completely assembled gingerbread house awaits for each reserved child to decorate in their own creative style. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, pumpkin, oil, and water. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in walnuts and raisins if desired. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg/ 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 2 eggs /1 cup canned pumpkin / 1/2 cup canola oil 1/2 cup water / 1/2 cup chopped walnuts / 1/2 cup raisins, optional Pour into a greased 9-in. x 5-in. loaf pan. Bake at 350 for minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack. Approx 16 slices
