2 NEW POLICY NOTICE Inappropriate Actions by Members and Guests On the Golf Course If a Member or Member s guest have violated club rules and/or Bylaws, the following steps are to be taken: Mark Wetz Club President Happy July 4th! We re at the half way point of the summer. And what a irst half it s been! The Club has seen a ton of activity in all areas. Unfortunately, what we ve also seen are some issues. And we need to address some of those now. We, the Board, understand there are issues currently being felt by the membership; whether it be service issues in the Dining Room or a policy call on the course, we must remember that this is our Club. Which means it is our job to help improve the situation, not worsen it. Handling issues by talking negatively to other members, or even worse to our own staff on the front lines is unacceptable. How many times did you hear growing up or now telling your own kids, treat others the way you want to be treated. Well, we are saying it again. We must treat our staff kindly and with respect. And if there is an issue that needs to be addressed or a complaint made, then take it to the manager in charge, or Tom Morgan (Director of Operations) in a professional way. We are all here to enjoy ourselves and this Club. We are taking the steps necessary to make sure that will happen. Thus, the following new policies have recently been adopted by the Board of Managers should an issue occur at our Club. 1. As soon as possible the Director of Operations, for the Board of Managers, will send the member a letter outlining the infractions and/or violations and the subsequent steps which that will be taken should the infraction continue. The Member or Member s guest will also be given an opportunity (should they choose) to appear in front of the Board and respond to the allegation of rules violations. 2. Should the behavior continue, the Member will receive a letter from the Board of Managers signed by the President of the Board informing the Member that should another occurrence happen, they will be suspended for a period of time to be determined by the Board of Managers. 3. Any subsequent violation will require the Board to suspend the Member for a designated period of time determined by the Board of Managers. 4. If the behavior and violation occurs again, the Member may be further suspended, up to and including expulsion. 5. At any time, the Board of Managers reserves the right to inde initely suspend any Member based on the seriousness of the infraction or violation. This determination is to be made in the sole discretion of the Board of Managers. Inappropriate Behavior in Clubhouse by Members and Guests If a Member or guest of a Member is acting inappropriately, generally de ined as loud, vulgar, or any conduct which disturbs other members and guests, as determined by the supervisor or MOD the following steps will be taken: 1. The staff will notify the supervisor or MOD of the situation as soon as possible. Wednesdays, July 1, 15, 22, 29 11:00am 3:00pm Snack Bar $10++ includes Lunch and Activities Does your child want to bring a guest along to Kid s Day? We welcome it! Sign up with Rick! July wraps up our Kid s Days for the 2015 Summer! Thanks for the great participation! 2. If warranted, the member or guest will be asked by the supervisor or MOD to change behavior (i.e. they will be asked to "keep it down" if they are being exceptionally loud and upsetting other members and guests). 3. If the behavior persists, the member and/or guest will be asked by the supervisor or MOD to leave the clubhouse. 4. If the member or guest refuses to leave, security will be called by the supervisor or MOD. 5. The supervisor or MOD will inform the Director of Operations of the incident no later than the following work day. 6. The Board of Managers may take appropriate disciplinary action against the Member and/or exclude their guest(s) from future use of the Clubhouse.

4 Tom Morgan Director of Operations Once again I am sadden to announce that another manager for the Food and Beverage department has resigned. Brock Burr has left Dakota Dunes due to personal reasons. The process has already begun for his replacement. In the meantime, existing management and staff will take on the duties of the Food and Beverage manager until a replacement is hired. In addition to the managerial position, we are constantly looking and hiring wait staff and bartenders due to turnover. Historically, we have had somewhat of a revolving door with the part time/seasonal staff as these positions are normally illed by college students needing part-time jobs until they go into the real world. Because of the turnover, there is ongoing training that is required which in turn tests the patience of the membership. Many times when people get impatient they tend to get upset and some can get verbally abusive to the staff. Please keep in mind that the staff is trying to do their jobs as well as providing an income for themselves. When an individual is content with their current surroundings, they are not so apt to be exploring other opportunities; but the opposite holds true as well. It is no secret that the labor market is extremely tight in this area and management struggles inding employees for the various positions required to provide the service all of you deserve. It is possible to hire someone from many states away for a management position, but impossible to do this for a part-time or seasonal position; which must be illed by locals. DDCC Kid s Camp Become a DDCC Kid Camper $50 per Camper. Ages 5 and up. Fun Activities and lunch provided each day and a DDCC Kid s Camp Gift. Tuesday, July 7 Thursday, July 9 11:00am 3:00pm each day Please Sign up with Rick. Guests Welcome! This organizations relies on two basic components; members and employees. Without both, the organization fails to exist. We look forward to continue working together, bettering the Club! Jim & Pat Calvert and Mark & Jenny Wetz Both Teams shot ( 10) 62 to claim the championship and secure the coveted reserved parking spots at DDCC. Congratulations!

5 Justin Arlt Head PGA Professional The season is in full swing and what a year we are having! I can honestly say that 2015 has proved to be the most active and busy in my 14 seasons at DDCC without a doubt. Rounds, range activity and event participation have been very well received and all seeing record participation. The Men s member guest in August has been extended to the largest ield ever attempted, and this year we are holding a ladies member guest for the irst time in club history. Needless to say things are looking up and it is wonderful to see such a large commitment to participation by the membership. Leagues, events and activity participation from the members is vital to club success and your dedication and commitment to being active and supportive members has been felt and making a difference! 7 Doug Hausman Golf Course Superintendent The last full week in June, the course experienced over one thousand rounds. From our perspective that s a lot of divots and ball marks. We re often asked what s the place look like after a hundred and forty-four players trample around? The answer is players usually do a pretty good job with illing divots and repairing ball marks. The worst damage is after Tuesday night league due to ball marks. The ladies do a much better job with regard to taking care of the property you have ownership in. Let s pay it a head and ill divots, repair your ball mark and one others, keep the carts on the pavement, and rake the bunker smooth as you enjoy yourselves. Let s leave the playing surfaces better when you leave for your fellow members following behind. We have developed a cotton harvester for when the cotton piles up on all of the playing surfaces. A set of heads has been revamped to harvest cotton off of the greens prior to cutting with the walking greens mowers. Based upon clipping yield and putting speeds, it appears it has helped. We will keep adjusting and communicating conditions. As the soil temperatures have climbed so has the maturation process on seventeen and eighteen. It won t be long and those two strong inishing holes will blend in as though they ve been there for years. All are coming along as is typical with grow-ins. Both green sites are progressing as they should based upon construction acumen and planting dates. We will continue to hand top-dress and groom until those areas are caught up. We will be topdressing the eighteenth fairway a second time to continue to grow soil along with other amendments. The sand we re left with will be used to continue to improve existing bunkers. We look forward to seeing you all out on the golf course for the heart of the golf season.
