4 Golf Shop Hours Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00am 3:00pm Thursday 9:00am 6:00pm Friday & Saturday 10:00am 3:00pm Justin Arlt Head PGA Professional Are you ready for the 2015 golf season? The wait is about over; it s time to get ready. The golf simulator is here and is a great way to practice and get your body in shape for the season. Better yet schedule a golf lesson with Jeff or Justin in preparation for success. Mark your calendars for Friday, March 6 th from 3-7. We will be doing a Titleist itting/demo day in the banquet room on the simulator. This will be by appointment only in 45 minute intervals. Call the golf shop to register your slot. The staff has been assembled for the season. We are happy to have Jeff Adams, our irst assistant, returning for his 3 rd season with us. The seasonal assistant golf professionals will be new in 2015 and both coming directly from Golf College in South Carolina as recent graduates. Nick Mrla is originally from the Lawton area and is excited to return home and be a part of DDCC. Kevin Burchardt is the other new hire and is from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and is looking forward to this new experience and move to Dakota Dunes. Please make a point to welcome both Nick and Kevin to DDCC in March. Thank you to those that took the time to ill out your member survey so that we can make needed improvements and changes to our operation to better serve you. We are dedicated to the programs, services and experience we provide you and the survey is one tool that helps us each offseason. Overall the golf department is happy to report a 99.35% satisfaction rate. Our ratings in each of our 6 speci ic categories tracked saw a higher rating and improvement from 2013 to 2014 which marks not only good ratings but improvement from year to year. This year our lowest ratings came in the areas of Junior Golf, Pace of Play and Bag storage. We will make the following changes and improvements to each area: Junior Golf A team golf program will be offered that is geared toward a team atmosphere for learning. A pee wee program and advanced program for older players will also be offered. We will be setting aside more time and instruction for our kids in 2015 Pace of Play We have hired starters and rangers for use on busy days in peak season. Flag system will be used to communicate issues on the course in an ef icient and effective manner. Bag Room Services New policies and procedures will be set that require each club to be pulled and soaked before cleaning. Golf professionals will administer and monitor the service at the start and end of each day rather than player service staff. We look forward to another great season in 2015!!! See you on the course soon Justin J. Arlt, PGA BRUNCH SAVE THE DATE Sunday, April 5 10:00am 2:00pm Easter Egg Hunt begins at 12:30pm
5 WITH TRACEY Don't let the name scare you! Tracey Mozak has been in the fitness industry for 20 years. She has her personal training certificate through IFPA and is also certified in group class and yoga. Format of Boot Camp with Tracey will change weekly. Tracey likes intervals, circuits and Tabata which all consist of a total body workout with weights, bands, balls and cardio to create a great workout. It can be very intense or you can work at your own level with modifications. It is a fun and fast way to burn a lot of calories. She will usually end class with additional abdominals and some gentle yoga. Please bring a mat and water! Class will held Thursdays from 9:30am 10:30am in the Recreation Center at no additional cost! Doug Hausman Golf Course Superintendent February 24 th found us elevating trees for the ield of play and ambient light for turf health out on the ifteenth hole. Once shot value criteria is met, then the operator in the bucket moves on to dead, diseased, and dying within the tree to improve health and well-being for the tree. Once pruned all of the nutrients will be concentrated to what s left allowing the tree to lourish for many seasons to come. This has never been done on ifteen so the hole will be much more enjoyable to play for all skill levels. The third annual volunteer day is coming in March. A day will be picked prior to opening with an alternate day planned in case of weather issues. We will be picking up brush left from the winter seasons pruning at nine, ten, and ifteen and hauled to a staging area or pit depending upon ground conditions. The only thing required is a smile, gloves, and outdoor clothes. The 2015 season will be concentrated on consistent greens speeds, bunkers, and grooming and growing in seventeen and eighteen. Second to that will be the tees, where not fully recovered from dessication, we will remove tree roots as required and then sod. All indications are the winter moisture to date has been suf icient to have a normal spring. We are planning on taking out three beds at the front entrance of the clubhouse to improve irst impressions. On the golf course we will install barber poles on the rest of the par fours and ives to expedite speed of play for our members and guests. We re also going to install new lags which should be more visible and hold up better to the wind and sunshine for a season. We look forward to the spring season as winter has certainly been long enough for all of us. Need a Locker? Contact the Golf Shop if you would like to rent a locker in the Clubhouse Locker Rooms Only $79 for the year!

Junior Golf Packet will be ed out this month! Contact the Golf Shop with questions or for more information. Jessica Weber Marketing/Membership Director In February we found ourselves promoting the Club at the Great Plains Golf Expo in Sioux Falls. Our booth attracted around 400 visitors as Justin and I discussed membership, golf outings, merchandise, Day at the Dunes and the overall status of the course following the lood. This event was a great way to get in front of the public and spread the word about the upcoming season. I m excited to see the results it produces. As we gear up for another exciting season here in 2015, we all know that our Members are the life-blood of the Club. Our Club s membership roster has grown through the years because of Members referring their friends and family to DDCC. We are always looking for good families to join ours! It is our hope that all of you will continue to promote the enjoyment that you experience here at your Club to friends and family. Please do not hesitate to contact me about a prospective Member family interested in the bene its of membership here at DDCC! The countdown is on for the summer season. We are exited to have the outdoor patio for the full season this year! Get ready for a special menu and great times!
