5 Strathmore Golf Club Details Founded in 1921 by C.P. Rail the Strathmore Golf Club offers 18 of the finest championship style holes of golf east of Calgary and at over 6,800 yards from the tips and 5,300 yards from the forward tees, it is challenging enough for skilled players and yet welcoming to beginners. The course continues to receive rave reviews for the impeccable conditions and with greens that are second to none, you will see first hand why Canadian Tour Players have said that our course is in as great of shape as any course they play. Strathmore Golf Club has been host to several great events, for organizations such as: PGA of Alberta, Calgary Golf Association, Alberta Golf Association, McLennan Ross Junior Tour, Rocky View High School Divisional Playoffs, Rockies Pro Tour and many more! The Clubhouse & Proshop Our Clubhouse was renovated in with: new carpet, paint, new outdoor patio and dining furniture, new tables & chairs in the lounge, completely renovated pro shop and a new fleet of Club Cars! The Stix Restaurant & Lounge has three widescreen televisions, stereo and PA systems and meals that keep tournaments and players coming back year after year! Our fully stocked Pro Shop has all the amenities that are needed during your event, including rental golf sets. Our competitive pricing of all major golf clubs and apparel will make your tournaments participants eager for a possible chance of winning a gift certificate. Or if you would like, apply your prize credit towards a custom order golf balls, polo s, hats, and more. Driving Range & Practice Putting Greens The Strathmore Golf Club has two all grass putting greens and a full grass driving range. Tournament Types, Start Times & Green Fees Scramble format is recommended for all groups, to ensure the pace of play is maintained. Shotgun starts are permitted for groups of 100 or more. Your event can start anytime during the week and weekend events must start at 12 Noon or later - the Pro Shop has final approval on all event start times. Prize Credit Prize credit can be used to purchase prizes from the Pro Shop or be made into Gift Certificates redeemable for Pro Shop items and CAN NOT be used towards green fees, driving range, power carts, meal packages or other Tournament expenses. Power Carts All of our power carts are equipped with Precedent I3 System which the Pro Shop will monitor the pace of play and where each cart has been driven. Fantastic full LCD screens for all your yardage and course layout needs. The cart will Notify you if you are in a restricted area and you must return to the fairway or cart path immediately, to avoid the cart be shutoff. 6 Strathmore Golf Club Directions Strathmore Golf Club is located 25 traffic free minutes east of Calgary on Hwy 1. There is ample parking and your guests can find our course easily, as we are located in clear view off of Wheatland Trail. Strathmore Golf Club 80 Wheatland Trail Strathmore, AB T1P 1A5 (403) Tournament Policies SHOTGUN STARTS: Minimum number of players for a shotgun start is 100. Groups booking as a shotgun and that fail to meet the minimum number of participants may proceed with the event, but will be charged for the minimum (100 players). Combination shotgun starts may be available, two or more tournaments/groups at same time sharing same shotgun start. HEALTH REGULATIONS: Outside Food or beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) may not be brought onto Strathmore Golf Club property. All sponsored products must be approved by the Strathmore Golf Club and must be purchased through the restaurant. Due to health regulations, leftover food and beverage may not leave the property after the event. DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A non-refundable deposit of $500 for a shotgun start, or $200 for tee time events, must be received within 7 days of booking, in addition to the signed complete tournament contract, in order to reserve the tournament date. The number of participants must be confirmed and the balance due paid 8 days prior to the event. Strathmore Golf Club Golf Course reserves the right to cancel a reservation if payment terms are not met. A credit card number and authorized signature must be included with the event contract to cover supplemental and other charges that are not prepaid. CANCELLATION: All cancellations must be received in writing or by by the tournament organizer. 8 Days Prior to Event: Finalize and confirm number of players Confirm the meal type, total numbers of meals & any special food & beverage needs Confirm the total number of power carts & sign cart waiver Balance due for event DRAW SHEETS: The draw sheet / team lists and any special requirements, such tables, are required two days prior to event date. In the case of shotgun starts, SGC will assign starting holes. In the case of tee time starts, please contact the Pro Shop for starting times. SGC recommends that all players arrive at the course a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the starting, or first tee time. INCLEMENT WEATHER: Tournaments will commence as scheduled unless the golf course superintendent / golf professional deems the golf course to be unplayable. If severe weather prohibits play, the meal will be served as planned and rain checks will be issued for the golf portion of the event. No refunds will be issued.
