2 1. All exhibits not on the ground by the specified time will not be allowed to go into competition. 2. All horses must be ridden, haltered or led. Bulls calved before December 31st last, must be led by a ring through the nose and under adequate supervision. 3. Attendants in charge of stock admitted free by ticket, and subject to the orders of the stewards. Anyone disobeying the orders of the stewards will be liable to a fine of $5. 4. Exhibitors will be required to state as accurately as possible at the time of entry, the date of birth of all stock in classes where age is specified, and in all classes of sheep the date of last shearing. 5. The same animal may be shown in two or more classes by paying the necessary entry fee for each class unless where otherwise specified. 6. No stock or implement exhibited to be removed from the yards until after 4.00pm on the day of the show without a special order from the committee. 7. The committee will not under any circumstances hold themselves responsible for loss, damage or mis-delivery of stock, implements and any article exhibited. 8. All livestock must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor at the time of entry. 9. Extra stock, implements etc not eligible under any of the enumerated classes may be exhibited by paying the usual entrance fee the same as those in the class they refer to. Honorary certificates will be awarded. 10. In all sheep classes where a weight is specified, all exhibits in these classes shall be weighed, and where sheep are to be a specified weight, the sheep sub-committee have power to make allowance for wet fleece. 11. In all novice entries for horse or pony events, the horse, pony or rider as the case may be, must not have won no more than 5 wins in a conformation class at the time of the show. 12. All protests must be in writing and may be entered either before or after the judges have proceeded to their duties. The party entering a protest in horses, cattle and sheep must deposit $50 and in all other sections $10 deposit will be required. The deposit will be returned if the protest is sustained. If the protest is lodged before the judges proceed to their duties, the onus of proof will rest with the exhibitor; if after that, the onus of proof will rest with the party protesting. No protest will be received later than one hour after the awards were made and the prizewinning ticket affixed. The committee will decide all protests as soon as possible and there will be no appeal from their decision. 13. All prizes not claimed within one month after the date of the show shall be forfeited. 14. Exhibits in purebred classes must be from a registered flock or be eligible for registration. 15. The committee have full power to deal with any matter which may arise requiring instant attention, and which may be in the interest of the Association or for the safety of the public, and their decision shall be final. 16. PRIZE MONEY - Prizemoney will only be given if the judge considers the exhibit to be worthy of the prize. Every private prize will be dealt with in accordance with the conditions of the donor; but if there be no conditions, the prize will be given as the committee thinks fit. Power is reserved to withhold a prize where judges consider it ought not to be awarded for want of sufficient merit, even where there is competition. Champion and Reserve Champion will be selected as follows: First prize winners in all eligible classes to be paraded before the judge. Immediately the Champion has been selected, the 2nd placed animal in the class from which the Champion has been selected shall parade with the other first placegetters for Reserve Champion. All exhibits must enter the judging ring in the order in which they appear in the Catalogue, and must not wear prize tickets won in previous contests. The points for prizes counts as follows: Champion and 1st prize each 3 points, Reserve Champion and 2nd prize 2 points, 3rd prize 1 point. Half points when there is no competition. In any class where special entry is made for a Special Prize these classes shall not count in the aggregate for most points prizes. 17. All prize winners of horse and pony classes must attend the Grand Parade. Failure to do this will mean prize money will be forfeited. 18. In all sections of the North Otago A&P Association show, if a refund is required the association will retain 25% of entry fees for administration expenses incurred. 19. In ALL horse and pony events hard hats MUST be worn. 20. Any competitor or exhibitor who is rude to a judge or any official will be expelled from the events or competition. 21. The use of tranquilisers, stimulants, or any drug capable of effecting the performance of horses or ponies is forbidden. Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the show and that testing of all animals is at the owner's risk. Testing for forbidden substances will be carried out under the Royal Agricultural Society Forbidden Substance Judiciary Committee (FSJC) procedures and rules (refer rule 112RAS Equestrian Competitors and Judges Rule Book and rule 55a of the RAS General Rules and Regulations). 22. The Committee reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry without adducing any reason for so doing. 23. Entry forms: if your entry is (a) not signed, (b) illegible, (c) not accompanied by the required cards, forms etc, or (d) the correct monies are not included, YOUR ENTRY FORMS WILL BE RETURNED 24. Arrears: No person who is in arrears with regard to entry fees, subscriptions or any other show charge, is eligible to compete at any A&P show. Proof of payment will be required before any restriction will be lifted. 25. The committee reserves the right to alter, combine, split or delete classes where deemed necessary

ALL SHEEP, UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED, MUST BE ON THE GROUND AND PENNED AT 8.15AM SATURDAY. All rams entered in the Association's Show must be from a Brucellosis accredited free flock. Copy of certificate must accompany entry fees. JUDGING TO COMMENCE AT 9AM SATURDAY. If, in the opinion of the committee, or not less than three members thereto, any Sheep that has been unfairly shorn, coloured, oiled or locked will be disqualified. Exhibitors wishing to advertise their stud may do so on their allocated pens. Material that may prejudice judging, ie: ribbons or awards from previous shows are excluded. The late A T Heron Cup for most points in Meat Bred Sheep was won outright by Bushey Park Est. in 1966 and was represented by them as a PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHY. The Late R C Robinson Trophy for winner of Most Points in Sheep and Wool Classes. To be eligible Exhibitors must have entries in both Sheep and Wool Classes. Messrs R J Little and Co have represented this trophy as a PERPETUAL CHALLENGE TROPHY. Exhibitors are requested to state if the animals are entered in more than one class and section. Also to state the number of animals entered, so that the correct number of stalls can be allocated. All bulls over 1 year to be led by a ring through the nose and must be under adequate supervision. All beef female yearlings and over must be led by a nose clip (not ring) in the Grand Parade. The animal is not judged. Entrants in Herdsperson do not need to own the animal. Only one entry per person. The name of the Herdsperson MUST be on the entry form. Forbidden Substances The rules of the Royal A&P Society NZ in regard to Forbidden Substances apply. Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the show and that testing of all animals is at the person responsible's risk. Forbidden Substances - Any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina, courage or conduct of a horse, pony, donkey or mule by its action upon the central or peripheral nervous system or the cardio-vascular, respiratory, alimentary, digestive, muscoskeletal or urogenital systems. Yellow Card This show supports the RAS Yellow Card system. A Yellow card will be issued, in cases of offences in respect of abuse of animals or inappropriate behaviour as per the RAS Constitution and the RAS Rules & Regulations/Bylaws including the Equestrian Rulebook the RAS affiliated show measuring stand and their grounds and their duly appointed delegates may deliver to the Person responsible a yellow warning card (either immediately or within 10 days of the show) which suspends any penalty until possible new offences. Full wording of the Yellow Card system is available to view on the RAS website - RAS levies $1.00 included in entry fees. Rider/Handler's age and eligibility is determined as per the 1 August i.e. Riders/Handlers who are of age for any section on the 1 August complete the show year/season in that section. Back numbers to be collected from the Secretary's office and to be returned to same. List of numbers will be posted at the office. Performance cards and height certificates must be carried (not applicable for the Pleasure Horse/Pony Sections). 1st Prize winners are eligible for Championship, and then 2nd place getters. Supreme Champion will be judged in three sections; Pony (ridden), not exceed 148cm (excludes Led Rein and First Ridden), Horse/Hack(ridden) and In-Hand, each winner to be awarded a supreme ribbon. Miniatures will be awarded supreme at the completion of their own classes. REGULATIONS All exhibits shall be at the sole risk of the owner or exhibitor and the Association shall not under any circumstances be responsible for loss, damage, misdelivery, detention or delay of exhibits. 2 The Association will not be responsible for any accident, loss or damage that may be caused or suffered by any exhibit or which may be caused directly or indirectly by another exhibit, notwithstanding any alleged negligence on the part of any officer or servant of the Association and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Association indemnified against any claim in respect of any accident, loss or damage caused by an exhibit of such exhibitors. 3 It is the Association's policy to see that all due care is taken to protect property, and to protect and to keep in efficient order its own property and to make provision for the protection of the property of others, but the Association shall not be liable to any person in case of loss or damage by reason of any defect, accident, negligence or neglect howsoever arising. 4 The Association shall not be responsible for any loss or damage caused through (interalia) disease or infection howsoever arising. 5 All exhibitors are reminded that they are responsible for the care and control of their exhibits at all times. 6 All persons attending the show do so at their own risk and no claim shall be made against the Association in respect of any loss or injury by reason of any act or omission whether negligent or otherwise on the part of the Association or of any employee of the Association or on the part of any other person. 7 The entry and participation in competition signifies acceptance of all conditions of the Show. 8 The Association reserves the right to alter or amend any classes it deems necessary.

11 ARREARS No person who is in arrears with regard to entry fees, subscriptions, or any other show charge is eligible to compete at any affiliated Show. Proof of payment will be required before any restriction is lifted. INFRINGEMENT OF REGULATIONS Exhibitors and competitors infringing any of these regulations shall be dealt with as may be decided by the Committee, whose decision shall be final HORSE ELIGIBILITY A horse may be entered for all classes for which it is eligible but the applicant takes upon himself or herself the responsibility of being shut out of one class should it so happen that the other classes are being judged at the same time. Horses competing in Cob classes are not eligible for pony classes and vice versa. When a rider and/or horse are unable to compete 75% of the entry fee will be refunded provided a veterinary and/or Doctor's Certificate is presented to the Secretary which states the rider and/or horse/pony were unfit to compete at the Show. A RAS Life Certificate will be accepted. STALLIONS: CDE14: All Stallions and colts (with the exception of Miniature Horses and foals) must be shown in a bit. A steward will order any stallion/colt considered out of control or to be causing undue disquiet to other horses from the ring without recourse from the stallion/colt's owner/exhibitor/competitor. It is compulsory for all stallions and colts, except foals, to wear two (2) official "S" identification badges, one attached to each side of the bridle, at all shows/events at all times. The rider must also wear two RAS official (2) armbands (one of each arm) when in the ring. "S" badges to be purchased from RAS Head office or ESNZ; armbands from RAS Head Office. Handlers and Riders of Stallions/colts MUST wear an approved Hi Viz vest at Shows/Events when outside the showing ring. Vests can be purchased from RAS Head Office. No ridden stallions in ridden flat classes, including Round the Ring jumping AGE all horses entered where age is specified, to be foaled on or after 1 August. Rider/Handlers age and eligibility is determined as per the 1st August i.e. Riders/handlers who are of age for any division/section on the 1 August complete the show year/season in that division/section BREEDER The owner of the dam at the time of mating will be considered the breeder. NUMBERS Each horse or pony will have only one number for the Show. Number carriers optional. LOOSE BOXES & YARDS COST PER EVENT $5 Yards, $10 Stables WHICH MUST BE PAID WITH ENTRY FEES. CHAMPION AND RESERVE CHAMPIONS WILL BE SELECTED AS FOLLOWS: first prize winners in all eligible classes to be paraded before the Judge. Immediately the Champion has been selected the 2nd placed animal in the class from which the Champion has been selected shall parade with the other first place getters for Reserve Champion. Full wording of the "Yellow Card" system is available to view on the RAS website DISQUALIFIED PERSON - Should any person or firm be disqualified or suspended by a kindred Association the committee of the Association shall have the power to endorse such disqualification or suspension, should they see fit. ENTRIES -- All Entries must be in writing on the prescribed entry form and duly signed with the total entry fees enclosed. Online entries are accepted ONLY when full payment has been made either via internet banking or cheque. REFUSAL OF ENTRIES - The committee reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry without adducing any reason for doing so. OWNERSHIP OF STOCK - All stock shown must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor one month previous to date of show. DATE OF BIRTH - Applicants will be required to state as accurately as possible at the time of entry, the date of birth of all stock in classes where the age is specified. In all entries of livestock the breeder's name must be mentioned if known, if not known the fact must be stated at time of entry. TIMETABLE - The

12 Committee reserves the right to make any alteration to show timetables or to postpone the show or withdraw any event as may be deemed desirable. PRIZE POINTS - All points for prizes count as follows: First prize 5 points; Second prize 3 points; Third prize 2 points; fourth prize 1 point; Champion 2 points; Reserve 1 point; VHC 1 point. In the event of ties for any "most points" prize, the winners of the largest number of first prizes will take precedence. Otherwise the value of the prize will be divided equally amongst the competitors who are tied. PROTESTS All protests must be made in writing and may be entered either before or after the judges have proceeded to their duties. The party entering the protest in the Horse/pony classes must deposit $50.00; the deposit will be returned if the protest is sustained. If the protest is lodged before the judges proceed to their duties, the onus of proof will rest with the party protesting. No protest will be received later than one hour after the awards are made and the prize tickets affixed. The judicial committee will decide all protests as soon as practicable. SUMMARY OF RAS RESOLUTION PROCESS the full process can be found on the RAS website The Principle behind the process is to deal with the matter as it comes to hand and in most cases it should be dealt with directly by the show. If the matter is in regards to a RAS official, the show may request the assistance of RAS Head Office as to how to deal with this in an appropriate manner. PRIZE MONEY: All prizes not claimed within one month of the Show shall be forfeited. ALL HORSE/PONY PRIZE WINNERS MUST ATTEND THE GRAND PARADE AT 1PM INSTRUCTIONS TO JUDGES GENERAL In the event of there being no competition in any class no prize money will be given unless the judges certify to particular merit and the judges are specially requested to withhold prizes in cases even when there is competition if the exhibits are of inferior description. HORSES - Judges are requested to pass over horses which, in their opinion, are entered in the wrong class. In judging Hunters, judges are asked to give the prize to the horse they consider sufficiently sound to stand hunting. PONIES - In children's Pony Classes the judge is requested to take manners of the pony into consideration. RULINGS - In all horse and pony events riders must wear hard hats. Adult riders may ride a novice pony but in novice classes only. Height/Performance Cards must be carried at all times. The number of Novice wins is to be counted at time of show, not time of entry.
