22 Show Pleasure Horse/Pony Horse of the Year (HOY) Qualifier. Open to horses and riders registered or unregistered with NZEPS Pleasure Horse/Pony means those animals who do not fit the mould of a Show Horse/Pony. We welcome any breed (e.g. Appaloosas, Quarter Horses, Standardbreds, Clyde X) and colour. They should be an uncomplicated and genuine pleasure to ride. Whilst they do not possess the show quality conformation of a show horse, they should in their own way be a delight to ride, with impeccable manners. A pleasure mount is NOT an inexperienced mount with show quality conformation that is destined for the open show ring Riders may have competed outside the Pleasure Horse section. Horses and Riders may be registered with ESNZ Horses/ponies must never have been placed first in an open show ring class at a Horse of the Year Qualifying Show where Pleasure classes are offered. An open show ring class is defined as any class (other than Pleasure Horse classes), which are not restricted to breed type (for example, Park Hack, Show Hack, Saddle Hunter, Riding Horse, Show Pony, Saddle Hunter Pony). However, riders may apply for dispensation to this rule to this society and each application will be taken on a case-by-case basis and decided on by the Committee See current NZEPS rules for saddlery, dress and other equipment rulings 240, 241 and 250 may be split depending on entries Riders U17 on horses must compete in the horse classes where applicable Entry Fee $4.00 Prize Ribbons to 4 th place Judge To be advised Sunday, 25 November 2018 Oval Ring 3, Starting at 8:30am 240 Best Groomed & Cared for Horse/Pony & Gear (Horses and Ponies Combined) 241 Best Trot (Horses and Ponies Combined) 242 Best Rider under 17 years 243 Best Rider 17 years and over 244 Best Paced and Mannered Pony (Rider under 17 Years) 245 Best Paced and Mannered Horse 246 Best Combination Ponies (Rider under 17 Years) 247 Best Combination Horses 248 Pony Most Suitable for a Beginner Rider (Rider under 17 years) 249 Horse Most Suitable for a Beginner Rider 250 Best Low Jump **** Champion & Reserve Show Pleasure Pony (To be judged from the winners of classes 244, 246 & nd placed pony to the champion to be judged alongside the remaining winners for reserve champion) **** Champion & Reserve Show Pleasure Horse (To be judged from the winners of classes 245, 247 & nd placed pony to the champion to be judged alongside the remaining winners for reserve champion) 22
