3 SHEEP Conditions and regulations: All sheep must be penned and ready for judging by 9.00am and no stock to be removed from the yards until after 4.30pm on the day of the show. All sheep in the purebred classes must be from a registered flock. In all cases with lamb/s at foot, lamb/s to be taken into consideration. Names of breeder of purebred sheep and date of shearing must be given at time of entry. No sheep may be exhibited in more than one class, except in classes for special prizes with special entry. Sheep in natural condition are eligible for entry as such in all classes in the schedule but must comply with the following conditions: 1 That the sheep have not been housed, rugged or covered at any time or in any way 2 That the wool has not been trimmed in any way sinceshearing, except crutching or dagging 3 That there has not been any colouring, oiling or locking, except dipping 4 If any sheep are delivered to the showgrounds suffering from footrot, or are suspected by any inspector to be suffering from footrot or any similar infection, those sheep, and all others belonging to the same vendor will be disqualified from the show and sent home 5 Brucellosis: all sheep entered in the Association's show must be from an accredited brucellosis free flock or blood tested negative. Copy of certificate must accompany entries. 6 Unless otherwise stated all wool/dual purpose wool Breed sheep In the shorn classes must be machine shorn on or after 20 July in the current year and no later than days before the date of the show. SUPREME CHAMPION PET Prize Money $50.00 WOOL Conditions and regulations: Entries close Friday 10 November (applies to this section only) and all exhibits to be in by 5pm Wednesday 22nd November to PGG Waimate or can be dropped off at showgrounds before 10am on Friday 24th November Unless stipulated on entry form all fleeces in the Natural section will be kindly gifted to the A&P. Fleeces may be left or sent to PGG, Waimate prior to the show. Please ensure that each fleece is put in its own bag or wrapped properly. Ensure it is labelled with exhibitor's name, address and class number. Fleeces to be judged on quality, character, colour and weight of fleece. 7 DRIVE AND YARD SHEEP DOG TRIALS SPONSORED BY TRANSPORT WAIMATE LTD Saturday; post entries will not be accepted Conditions and regulations: 1 Person to take charge of sheep at a peg and drive through a set of hurdles, then through a prearranged course. 2 Competitor must follow sheep through obstacle. 3 Person to hold gate when yarding. 4 Order of running to be drawn, but the committee reserves the right to alter this if circumstances warrant 5 Any matter not provided for in these conditions and not governed by the rules of the Association, shall be decided by the Stewards in charge, whose decision shall be final Time allowed: 9 minutes. Class 1145 Best Udder Open to all does who have borne a kid. To be judged when full and again when stripped out. Points awarded for both full and empty udder to be totalled to determine the prize winners (does must be finally stripped prior to entering the ring for second part) Class 1146 Dam and Daughter in milk Dam and one or more daughters to be judged on the doe's worth as a breeding matron. At least the daughter's to be bred and owned by the exhibitor. Class 1147 Senior Progeny Two daughters in milk of same sire but different dams. The names of the sire and dams to be given on the entry form. Class 1148 Junior Showmanship For young person s 15 years of age and under; to be judged on exhibitor's ability to lead, place, turn, stop and start their goat. Show preparation and appearance of both exhibitor and goat to be taken into account. Exhibitor's age to be included on entry form. Class 1149 Junior Herdsperson Exhibitors years showing an adult goat. Judged on presentation and knowledge of the anatomy of the goat, also handling and health of the adult goat. Goat does not have to belong to the exhibitor. DAIRY AND BEEF CATTLE NAIT NUMBER: Conditions and regulations: Cattle must be on the grounds by 10am and judging to commence 11am. No exhibit will be allowed to go into competition after 11am without the permission of the committee. No exhibit will be allowed to go into competition after keeping judges waiting ten minutes. The date of birth of all cattle must be stated at time of entry. TB: All cattle, including yearlings, entered for showing must be from a TB accredited herd. A TB test certificate, dated within 6 months prior to the last day of the show must accompany entry forms, or be received by the Secretary at least seven days before the show. All cattle will require the NAIT approved RFID tag. It is the livestock exhibitors responsibility to record all animal movements with NAIT 48 hours prior to leaving the farm/property for the Show and then within 48 hours of returning to the farm/property from the Show. NO ENTRIES ACCEPTED WITHOUT DOCUMENTS Stock exhibited in Purebred Class must be eligible to be registered All Dairy Bulls twelve months and over must be rung and under adequate supervision. All Dairy Bulls two years and over must have two leaders. All placed animals must enter the Grand Parade The assistance of all Stewards in Cattle Section would be appreciated in assembling cattle for the Grand Parade and loading cattle after the show. 13 HORSES AND PONIES REGULATIONS RESPONSIBILITY 1 All exhibits shall be at the sole risk of the owner or exhibitor and the Association shall not under any circumstances be responsible for loss, damage, misdelivery, detention or delay of exhibits. 2 The Association will not be responsible for any accident, loss or damage that may be caused or suffered by any exhibit or which may be caused directly or indirectly by another exhibit, notwithstanding any alleged negligence on the part of any officer or servant of the Association and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Association indemnified against any claim in respect of any accident, loss or damage caused by an exhibit of such exhibitors. 3 It is the Association's policy to see that all due care is taken to protect property, and to protect and to keep in efficient order its own property and to make provision for the protection of the property of others, but the Association shall not be liable to any person in case of loss or damage by reason of any defect, accident, negligence or neglect howsoever arising. 4 The Association shall not be responsible for any loss or damage caused through (interalia) disease or infection howsoever arising. 5 All exhibitors are reminded that they are responsible for the care and control of their exhibits at all times. 6 All persons attending the show do so at their own risk and no claim shall be made against the Association in respect of any loss or injury by reason of any act or omission whether negligent or otherwise on the part of the Association or of any employee of the Association or on the part of any other person. 7 The entry and participation in competition signifies acceptance of all conditions of the Show. 8 The Association reserves the right to alter or amend any classes it deems necessary. HATS AND SAFETY HELMETS All riders including harness drivers, competing at RAS affiliated A&P show/events must wear protectiv headgear. Hats/Helmets must conform with one of the current approved safety standards. ARREARS No person who is in arrears with regard to entry fees, subscriptions, or any other show charge is eligible to compete at any affiliated Show. Proof of payment will be required before any restriction is lifted. INFRINGEMENT OF REGULATIONS Exhibitors and competitors infringing any of these regulations shall be dealt with as may be decided by the Committee, whose decision shall be final HORSE ELIGIBILITY A horse may be entered for all classes for which it is eligible but the applicant takes upon himself or herself the responsibility of being shut out of one class should it so happen that the other classes are being judged at the same time. Horses competing in Cob classes are not eligible for pony classes and vice versa. REFUNDS When a rider and/or horse are unable to compete 75% of the entry fee will be refunded provided a veterinary and/or Doctor's Certificate is presented to the Secretary which states the rider and/or horse/pony were unfit to compete at the Show. FORBIDDEN SUBSTANCE TESTING The Rules of the Royal A&P Society NZ in regard to Forbidden Substances apply. Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the show and that testing of all animals is at the person responsible's risk. Forbidden Substance Any substance capable of affecting the speed, stamina, courage or conduct of a horse, pony, donkey or mule by its action upon the central or peripheral nervous system or the cardio-vascular, respiratory, alimentary, digestive, muscoskeletal or urogenital systems. CLASSES - Where classes are restricted to "District Competitions" districts shall be deemed to be the whole of South Canterbury. Where sex is not mentioned classes are open to mares and geldings. NOVICE CLASSIFICATION CDE 6: A novice exhibit or rider is one that has yet to win six (6) classes in any division within the competitions provided at any A&P show/event. Note: To clarify further, at time of first day of the show/event competition, if you have won 0,1 or 2 wins you can enter the 0-2 wins class, if you have 0,1,2 or 3 wins you can enter the 0-

14 3 wins class, if you have 0,1,2,3,4 or 5 wins you can enter the 0-5 wins class. Once you have acheived 6 wins in Conformation (and this includes Ladies or Gents classes) and/or Paced and Mannered classes, you can no longer enter in Novice classes in that catergory. All wins, whether they be novice or open, at all affiliated RAS shows/events including HOY show must be recorded on the RAS certificate and/or performance card, until six wins is acheived. HORSE/PONY MEASURING WILL BE AVAILABLE FRIDAY FROM 4.30PM TO 5.30PM. PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE A CURRENT HEIGHT CERTIFICATE. HEIGHT CERTIFICATE/PERFORMANCE CARDS MUST BE CARRIED AT ALL TIMES. A RAS Life Certificate will be accepted. STALLIONS: CDE14: All Stallions and colts (with the exception of Miniature Horses and foals) must be shown in a bit. A steward will order any stallion/colt considered out of control or to be causing undue disquiet to other horses from the ring without recourse from the stallion/colt's owner/exhibitor/competitor. It is compulsory for all stallions and colts, except foals, to wear two (2) official "S" identification badges, one attached to each side of the bridle, at all shows/events at all times. The rider/handler must also wear two RAS official (2) armbands (one of each arm) when in the ring. "S" badges to be purchased from RAS Head office or ESNZ; armbands from RAS Head Office. Handlers and Riders of Stallions/colts MUST wear an approved Hi Viz vest at Shows/Events when outside the showing ring. Vests can be purchased from RAS Head Office. No ridden stallions in ridden flat classes, including Round the Ring jumping AGE all horses entered where age is specified, to be foaled on or after 1 August. Rider/Handlers age and eligibility is determined as per the 1 st August i.e. Riders/handlers who are of age for any division/section on the 1 August complete the show year/season in that division/section BREEDER The owner of the dam at the time of mating will be considered the breeder. NUMBERS Each horse or pony will have only one number for the Show. Number carriers optional. LOOSE BOXES & YARDS COST PER EVENT $15 Yards, $15 Stables WHICH MUST BE PAID WITH ENTRY FEES. CHAMPION AND RESERVE CHAMPIONS WILL BE SELECTED AS FOLLOWS: first prize winners in all eligible classes to be paraded before the Judge. Immediately the Champion has been selected the 2 nd placed animal in the class from which the Champion has been selected shall parade with the other first place getters for Reserve Champion. YELLOW CARD This show supports the RAS Yellow Card system. A yellow card will be issued, in cases of offences in respect of abuse to animals or inappropriate behaviour as per the RAS Constitution and the RAS Rules & Regulations/Bylaws including the Equestrian Rulebook, the RAS affiliated show/registered Measuring Stand and their grounds and their duly appointed delegates may deliver to the Person Responsible a Yellow Warning Card (either immediately or within 10 days of the show) which suspends any penalty until possible new offences. Full wording of the "Yellow Card" system is available to view on the RAS website DISQUALIFIED PERSON - Should any person or firm be disqualified or suspended by a kindred Association the committee of the Association shall have the power to endorse such disqualification or suspension, should they see fit. ENTRIES -- All Entries must be in writing on the prescribed entry form and duly signed with the total entry fees enclosed. Online entries are accepted ONLY when full payment has been made either via internet banking or cheque. REFUSAL OF ENTRIES - The committee reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry without adducing any reason for doing so. OWNERSHIP OF STOCK - All stock shown must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor one month previous to date of show. DATE OF BIRTH - Applicants will be required to state as accurately as possible at the time of entry, the date of birth of all stock in classes where the age is specified. In all entries of livestock the breeder's name must be mentioned if known, if not known the fact must be stated at time of entry. TIMETABLE - The Committee reserves the right to make any alteration to show timetables or to postpone the show or withdraw any event as may be deemed desirable. PRIZE POINTS - All points for prizes count as follows: First prize 5 points; Second prize 3 points; Third prize 2 points; fourth prize 1 point; Champion 2 points; Reserve 1 point; VHC 1 point. In the event of ties for any "most points" prize, the winners of the largest number of first prizes will take precedence. Otherwise the value of the prize will be divided equally amongst the competitors who are tied. PROTESTS All protests must be made in writing and may be entered either before or after the judges have proceeded to their duties. The party entering the protest in the Horse/pony classes must deposit $50.00; the deposit will be returned if the protest is sustained. If the protest is lodged before the judges proceed to their duties, the onus of proof will rest with the party protesting. No protest will be received later than one hour after the awards are made and the prize tickets affixed. The

15 judicial committee will decide all protests as soon as practicable.
