1 JR LIVESTOCK EXHIBITS LIVESTOCK RULES The Fair Association reserves to its Board of Directors the final absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations, settle all matters, questions and differences in regard thereto, and to add to or amend as they deem advisable. Exhibitors MUST ATTEND livestock set-up on Saturday, July 22 at 8:00 a.m. ENTRY DEADLINE FOR ALL PROJECTS IS 5:OO P.M. FRI, JULY 7, NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED! DO NOT OR FAX ENTRIES! Mail entries to: Henderson Co. Fair, P.O. Box 313, Stronghurst, IL or place in the drop box at the Extention Office in Stronghurst. Open to exhibitors 8 years of age or in 3rd grade and not yet 19 years of age on or before Sept. 1 of the year previous the fair. Exhibitors can reside in any county in Illinois to be eligible to show. 1. Provide fresh, clean water to animals at all times and be aware of animal comfort requirements regarding temperature and space. 2. Keep your pens clean and dry with good bedding at all times. 3. Sort and load animals safely and with concern for them. Handle animal in a humane way. 4. Train animals to lead or be handled at a young age before the fair to make them manageable. 5. Arrange for veterinary care in case of an animal emergency. CARE OF ANIMALS No person shall be permitted to sell, exchange or give away intoxicating liquor or drugs within the Fair Association s jurisdiction. No drinking, drugs, or gambling will be allowed within the fairgrounds. All Livestock will be released after the Jr. Livestock Auction on Friday night. Premium checks may be picked up at the fair office on Sat, July 29 from 8 - Noon after fair cleanup. You must pay your entry fees at this time. If you can not make it please call (309) to make other arrangements. NO CHECKS WILL BE MAILED. EXHIBITORS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING CARE AND SAFETY MEASURES THAT PROTECT THE ANIMAL, EXHIBITORS, AND THE PUBLIC. 6. Adhere to all antibiotic, drug, and water or feed additive withdrawal times. 7. Animals should be fed on a routine basis. 8. Avoid stressing the animal. 9. Keep animals clean and healthy. 10. Use show sticks, whips, and canes appropriately. Do not use electric prods. 11. Have a plan of action if a problem should arise. Contact fair officials if a situation arises. PREMIUM WAIVER STATEMENT The Department of Agriculture shall use its best efforts to secure sufficient appropriations to fund premiums. In any year for which the General Assembly of the State of Illinois fails to make an appropriation sufficient to pay such premiums, premium amounts may not be accurately reflected in the premium book. In the event that the fair is not able to procure sufficient funds to pay premiums the Henderson County Fair is in no way responsible for paying premiums published

No late entries. Judge may disqualify improper entries. The Fair Superintendent may alter or cancel any classes affected by inclement weather. Animal must be accompanied by a negative test for equine infectious anemia/e.i.a. coggins/elisa. Only 1 entry allowed per class per exhibitor. Ponies 56 and under; Horses over 56. No Stallions Allowed. Exhibitors are required to wear a white long sleeved shirt or appropriate Western or English attire, nice jeans and boots. Protective head gear is required, not optional, for all riding classes. Head gear must have safety harness and needs to be fastened and buckled. Helmets must meet ASTM/SEI standards. Exhibitors must be able to certify their project has been cared for and maintained by exhibitor and their immediate family during the required tenure of ownership (May 1, 2017) and must not have been cared for by a professional fitter/trainer s facilities after this date. No one other than the project member and the member s family should fit or train the animals on the show grounds. Physical assistance with tack, equipment, and appointments during the show by immediate family members or project leaders is acceptable. Exhibitors participating in the Trail Class will be allowed 3 attempts at each obstacle. The Judge will determine when the 3 attempts have been met. Warm Up Break (20 min) following halter classes and before Grand Entry. Exhibitor must be able to control animal! If rider is not able to control their horse, a Fair Superintendent and/or Extension Staff can dismiss horse and rider from arena for safetly of all other participants & animals.
