It was with great regret that I missed this wonderful week of getting together with everyone but I m told you did well What s cooking boys??? without me. Maybe next year. From the photos it looked like you did a magic job on parade, event show and training. It was with sadness that we saw our boss Mr Merv Wilson retire from riding after all these years. I know that he will be sadly missed amongst the locals for the parade plus all other engagements that Merv took part in.

2 PAGE 2 PRESIDENT S NOTES We have certainly been busy over these past few months. Our team has grown and I would like to welcome all our new members on to. I would like to congratulate Will and Jake on passing their riding tests, along with Karryn Buller. This brings our riding numbers up and certainly helps when we have several events on the one day such as Remembrance and ANZAC Days. To all our team I would like to say thank you for all your efforts and everything that you do for the troop, it makes a difference. Without the teamship that we share it would be difficult to get anything done and indeed to ensure that we present to the public in the best manner possible. I don t want to particularly single any one person out, but I would like to thank Catherine for her hard work in ensuring that the team and sections work as one. It was with great sadness that I made the decision to stop riding for health reasons and for me the best place to make that decision was Bruce Rock as I have ridden in every parade since 2002 so it is dear to my heart. To all those who helped make the week at Bruce Rock a special occasion I thank you. Another reminder to all troopers, that when you volunteer to attend events, you need to be prepared to do any job as required and for those who ride you may not be riding on the day as not all riders can ride for all events. I also require ALL troopers to help with setting up and closing down at events. Please can you remember to help check each other out so that all pockets with buttons are secured, bandoleers and belt ends are in correct position, boots/shoes are polished, leggings etc are clean and in correct position, this includes the butterfly. Hats (furfelt) are worn correctly, ie Emu plumes on the left hand side with chin strap adjusted accordingly under the chin. Remember we are in the public domain and our image is important to our core business. We receive many compliments and positive feedback from our presentations. Well Done troops!!! 3 PAGE 3 THE RODEO LADY - aka Tasha ARTICLES OF INTEREST Well this lady is very talented and has recently joined our troop for which we are very pleased. She might be little, given the comments on her diminutive size, but she is full of life and mischief. Thank you for joining our troop and welcome. I wouldn t be challenging her to any bronco riding!! Ed: Story was suppose to be in last month s newletter but we were a little full. AIM - as set down by ALHA To preserve the history and traditions of the Australian Light Horse and its predecessors. MISSION To sponsor Memorial and Light Horse reenactment troops formed by the association and to ensure they enjoy Corporate Protection & Insurance Cover. OBJECTIVES To obtain and preserve uniforms, weapons and equipment used by the men of the Light Horse. To support existing Light Horse Museums, to make available information on the Light Horse to the public, and to support mounted Light Horse re-enactment troops formed for portraying the Light Horse of the past. To provide comradeship for its members who find the esprit de corps of the Light Horse stimulating and rewarding. Our common goal as troop members is to uphold our AIM and MISSION. We do so proudly and we do so because we are proud to be a part of such history and for the friendships that we form by being part of such a historic group.

If we have events on this date alternative arrangements will be made and advised to all troops prior to the change. For more information re meeting places or times please ensure that you contact Merv Wilson President Ensure you keep up to date as events, etc do get changed now and again.
