4 SHOW RULES 1. ENTRY FEES. (Unless otherwise specified) Regular Classes $35.00; Championship Classes $ Entries shall be submitted on the official entry form. One owner per entry form. Entries close on August 25, Post Entries will be accepted for an additional one-time fee of $ Entries must be complete and accompanied by a check covering all fees and charges. This includes Box Stall charges. Entries will not be processed unless payment is received. The management reserves the right to decline any entry without being held liable and reserves the right to cancel, combine or divide any class. Schedule for closing entries: Morning Sessions- 8PM prior evening. Afternoon Sessions-11AM and Evening Sessions-4PM on the day of the session. After the above times, you may enter a class with a late fee of $10.00 plus the normal entry fee. If a horse/rider shows in a class for which it is not properly entered, the exhibitor will be charged a double entry fee. Failure to scratch an entry could result in a fee of $ A $25.00 office fee for those who do not close out their show account will be charged. 2. STABLING. Box Stalls with doors are available for a fee of $ Tack Stalls are available for a fee of $ Management reserves the right to limit the number of stalls issued to exhibitors. Subletting of stalls is NOT permitted and may result in a fee of $ per stall. Any Box Stall used as a Tack Stall without the prior approval of the Stabling Supervisor may result in an additional fee of $ per stall. Stalls will be available at 12 noon on Monday September 24, 2018 and must be vacated by 12 noon Monday October 1, Feed and bedding will be sold on the grounds. The entry form may be used to order additional bedding and feed. There will be no initial bedding provided by this show. No one will be stabled with a trainer unless they are on the stable list sent in by the owner or trainer of that particular stable. 3. PARKING/TRAFFIC. There is limited parking space available on the show grounds for campers and vehicles used for storage of tack and feed. Parking will be sold on a first-come first-serve basis at the following rates. All campers or horse trailers/vans used as a camper will be charged a fee of $ Campers must have back up pressure valves attached to the water supply. Trailers or vans used solely for storage of tack and/or feed will be charged a fee of $ Fees must be paid upon making entries. No permits will be sold at the gate. Campers may arrive at the fairgrounds on Saturday September 22 and Sunday September 23 between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. NO HORSES CAN ARRIVE BEFORE MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, All vehicles will enter the show grounds through Gate B. Gate B will be open Sunday September 23 from 8AM until 6PM. Monday September 24 from 7AM until 7PM; Tuesday September 25 from 6AM until 9PM and Wednesday September 26 from 6am to 10 pm Thursday September 27 through Saturday September 29 from 6AM until ½ hour after last class. The entrance to the fairgrounds off Route 43, near Gate B, may be closed at the discretion of the Sheriff s Department or New Hampshire State Police. Campers and vans shall remain parked until their permanent departure from the fairgrounds. All other vehicles shall park free in the fairgrounds parking area as directed by fair personnel. NO VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRAVEL ON THE FAIRGROUNDS FROM 8AM UNTIL THE CLOSE OF THE FAIR EACH DAY. THIS IS A STATE LAW. 4. EXHIBITOR PASSES. Two exhibitor passes per horse or owner shall be issued after receiving payment of entry fees. Exhibitor passes will be necessary to enter the Fairgrounds through the horse show gate and will be required to access the exercise and warm up areas. IF ENTRY IS SCRATCHED, THE OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR PASSES OR RETURN THEM TO THE OFFICE BEFORE THE START OF THE HORSE SHOW. 5. The management reserves the right to change judging assignments in cases of emergency. 6. While the show is in progress, only authorized persons are permitted in the ring. Exhibitors who wish to approach a judge may do so only after obtaining permission of the show steward and only if the conversation will not delay the show. 7. REFUNDS. Refunds for entry and stall fees will be made upon receiving written request. The written request for refunds must be received by the Show Secretary prior to August 24th. After this date, no refunds of entry fees unless due to an injury to horse or rider for equitation classes. In case of injury, refunds will be made upon receipt of doctor s signed statement. The doctor s statement must be received by the Show Secretary before the end of the show. No refunds on box stalls, tack stalls or camper/trailer parking fees after entries close on August 24th. 8. Canadian checks and money orders will be accepted in American Currency value only. Amount must also include any bank charges for processing the check. 9. A service fee of $40.00 will be assessed for each insufficient funds check. If payment is not made, proper authorities and associations will be notified. 10. This show is affiliated with the New Hampshire Horse & Trail Association, Inc., which supports the USEF and NEHC and/or any affiliated state organization in any disciplinary action against exhibitors that involve

5 Sportsmanship or the good conduct of shows or indebtedness and will extend these actions to all NHH&TA affiliated shows. The show is an American Morgan Horse Association Star Rated show. 11. Premiums will be paid by check payable to the owner on record and mailed to the owner within 30 days after the show. Errors in premiums will be corrected until November 30, 2018, after which time the books are closed and unpaid premiums will be forfeited. No duplicated premium payments/awards will be made to an exhibitor. 12. Six ribbons will be awarded in all classes. 13. *Indicates a non-point class, section or divisions for the New Hampshire Horse & Trail Association. 14. All equine entering the State of New Hampshire must be accompanied by a certificate of veterinary inspection and a valid negative coggins test within six months prior to entry. These documents must be presented to the Show Secretary prior to the issuance of exhibitor numbers. A health certificate is required for each equine. Proof of a rabies vaccination must be within one year. 15. NO SMOKING IS PERMITTED IN THE BARNS. 16. The Horse Show Office will be open Wednesday September 26, from 9AM to 9PM. 19. Deerfield Fair Association and its agents and employees shall not be responsible for any accident or loss that may occur to any animal, equipment, property, rider, driver, groom, owner, attendant, or any other person(s) that may have reason to be in attendance at this show. 20. NO HORSES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FAIRGROUNDS WITHOUT CONFIRMATION OF COMPLETED ENTRY FORM FROM THE HORSE SHOW SECRETARY. 21. Non-pointed NEHC Non-pointed NHH&TA * 22. Absolutely NO DOGS will be allowed on the Fairgrounds. This includes the Parking Area. It is the preference of the Deerfield Fair Association that you leave your dog(s) at home during the set-up and actual conduct of the Deerfield Fair. If you must bring your dog(s) or other pets during these timeframes, it is your responsibility to ensure that they are properly cared for and do not create a nuisance to others. For safety and public health reasons, your dog(s)/pet(s) must be kept inside your camper/trailer at ALL times while the fair is in session. Walking your dog(s)/pet(s) is permitted only in the morning PRIOR to the official fair opening and in the evening after the fair is officially closed for the night. All dog(s)/ pet(s) shall be kept on a leash at ALL times when outside your camper/trailer and should never be left UNATTENDED. You are responsible to clean up after your dog(s)/pet(s) while walking them on the fairgrounds during the permitted times. If dog(s)/pet(s) are seen outside your camper/trailer during set-up for the fair or while the fair is in session, or your dog(s)/pet(s) is heard in your camper/trailer making a nuisance during these timeframes, the owner/violator will be assessed a $ fine and/or may be asked to leave the fairgrounds immediately. Security will be responsible to ensure this rule/policy is adhered to and any decisions regarding fines or removal from the fairgrounds shall be final. SUNDAY LEAVING POLICY The following rules are to assure safety to the horse show exhibitors, the horses and the general public due to the heavy traffic at the gates and around the barns after the horse show on Sunday. 1. Gate B will be kept CLOSED until 4:00pm unless there are still classes in session. In that case the gate will be kept closed for one-half hour after the last class. 2. Your trailer will not be allowed to enter the grounds until you are completely packed up and ready to load. 3. When you are ready to load, you will have to check in at the gate and the attendant will help you get your trailer to your barn. 4. People with campers will also have to check in at the gate and the attendant will help you get to your camper 5. As in the past, you will be able to enter the grounds to load or unload every day before 8:00 am and after the close of the fair each night. 6. You may also use the day exhibitors parking lot to load at any time. We feel that adopting this policy will make exiting the fair much easier and safer.

19 ACADEMY RULES HELMETS APPROVED FOR HORSEBACK RIDING ARE MANDATORY FOR ALL EXHIBITORS AND ALL MUST WEAR APPROPRIATE BOOTS. (No bicycle helmets) Saddle Seat Attire: KY Jods, boots, shirts and tie. Vest and gloves are optional. Sweaters, sweatshirts and turtlenecks that do not carry a farm name or log are permissible in cold weather. No riding coats or derbies. Hunt Seat Attire: Hunter style jods and boots. Shirt and tie or choker. No riding coats. Sweaters, sweatshirts and turtlenecks that do not carry a farm name or logo are permissible in cold weather. Western Seat Attire: Western jeans, long sleeve shirt, ties and chaps are optional. No western hats. Mount must be a horse that is regularly used in a lesson program. Braiding is optional. There are no shoeing restrictions. Protective boots are permissible. Horses may cross enter from the regular horse show to academy classes provided these horses are in fact school horses. Definition of a school horse. A horse who is used to teach a number of different riders in any given week and whose temperament and manners are suitable for a novice rider. The quality of the animal has no bearing on his eligibility. Snaffle bridles and full bridles may be used. No neckties on horses. Riders may not cross enter between divisions (a rider may show in either walk-trot or walk-trot-canter, but not both). A lead line rider may not show off the lead at the same show. Headers for lead line rider must be at least 18 years of age. Once a rider has shown off the lead, he/she may not return to lead line classes. Once a rider has shown at the canter, he/she may not return to walk-trot classes. In classes that require a posting trot, riders 6 & under shall not be judged on diagonals. Open refers to age, and classes may be split. Once a rider has competed at any level wearing a full suit, they are ineligible to compete in academy classes for that season.
