2 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: JUDO ONTARIO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Judo Ontario, the governing body for the sport of Judo in Ontario is seeking an Executive Director to start : April 1,. The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Judo Ontario office and takes direction from a volunteer Executive Committee and specifically the President. Main responsibilities include: Ministry of Health and Promotion Grant applications, Reports, Liaise Finance Budgets, Book Keeping, Banking, Reports Membership Registration, Services, Insurance, Program Staff Leadership, Motivation, Accountability And more. 3 Ontario judoka recognized at the Ottawa Sports Awards In a cafeteria turned jampacked reception hall at Algonquin College in Ottawa, for 55 athletes in 53 individual sports for their achievements in 2008, as well as 12 major trophy winners, including the male and female athletes, teams and coaches of the year and three lifetime achievement award winners, on January 21,. Among those athletes was Tony Walby, with achievements during his 28 years involvement in Judo, he has been a 12- time medalist at the Senior Nationals, winning the bronze, 8 times; The silver medal three times, and in Walby practicing at the Takahashi Dojo, in Ottawa 2008, a gold: +100kg National Champion. At the 2008 Rendez-Vous International tournament held in Montreal, he placed third, and is a member of Canada s National Judo team. The awards banquet honoured Ottawa s best amateur athletes in 2008, and Mayor Lar ry O Bri e n opened the ceremony by expressing how proud he is of the more than 50 athletes that were honoured at the event. He told them, [the city] is absolutely delighted to play a small role in promoting your success. With over 1200 members, Judo Ontario is talking online via Facebook. In less than five months, the Judo Ontario Facebook group has become the 4th largest judo group worldwide.
