REF2014 impact was assessed in the form of impact case studies and impact templates, where HEIs provided further information about their approach to supporting and enabling impact.

For the same reason you would target golfing visitors or heritage visitors- because we have a world class reputation It appeals across the age groups and market sectors It can be enjoyed as a single person or as part of a group It promotes physical activity, tapping into current health trends It capitalises on one of Scotland s best assets- our scenery They are all year round visitors

The Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland (MTB-COS) was established in April 2014 through funding from the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and with support from Edinburgh Napier University. Further 3 year s of potential funding to support project in April Established a centre at the Forestry Commission Glentress trailhead near Peebles which was officially opened in June Key Partners Scottish Enterprise DMBINS Edinburgh Napier University

Ergonomic Saddle Aberdeen based company have an innovative concept for a ergonomic bike saddle. In discussions with materials expert at University of Aberdeen to commence an SFC IV project. Bike Manufacturer company looking to set up a steel framed MTB manufacture in Scotland. Accell Group product design consultant who works for Accell Group (owns brands such as Lapierre, Haibike, Ghost and turns over EU985million) attended. Offered to speak to any companies or entrepreneurs. Disability cycles enquiry into manufacturing these bikes in Scotland

30 Bike Set up Suunto Bike Pod (Road) purchased: Strength had to be tested on MTB. Reliability against other measurements of speed. Catapult Gps & Garmin Gps During field tests both items of kit were placed on the bike in order to accurately determine speed and distance covered.
