1 Bali Democracy Students Conference {BDSC) "DEMOCRACY FOR PROSPERITY: Youth's Perspectives" Nusa Dua, Bali, 6-7 December 2018 What is BDSC? BDSC is a conference among students on the issues of democracy, as part of the Bali Democracy Forum (BDF). The Second BDSC {BDSC II) is to be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, on 6-7 December 2018, parallel with the BDF XI and the Bali Civil Society and Media Forum (BCSMF). It is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. What is the Main Objective of BDSC? To provide a forum for young generation from many countries to discuss issues concerning democracy To transfer and share knowledge about the discourse on democracy at the BDF to young generation To get inputs, new ideas, and absorb aspiration and perspectives of the students concerning democracy Who can participate? Participants of BDSC are 150 students, consists of: Indonesian students from various universities in Indonesia and abroad Students from countries around the world Participants must be: Bachelor's and Master's degree students having interest in political issues, especially democracy. Between the age of years old; Good command of English; Good organizational skills; Active social media presence. How to participate? Prepare the following documents: Filled-in application form Curriculum Vitae Recommendation Letter from the University Copy of Passport identity page Copy of Students ID Card Photo (4X6 cm, colour) Statement Letter stating willingness to participate in the whole program of BDSC in Bali from 5 to 8 December 2018 Short essay in English about views on Democracy for Prosperity: Youth's Perspectives (650 words, font: Arial 11, 1.Spt space) 30-second profile video in English, uploaded to social media account, which consist of: o Introduction of name and University o Views on "Democracy for Prosperity" All documents must be submitted to Indonesian Embassy/Consulate General by Monday, 22 October 2018
2 The BDSC Committee will bear the cost of: Twins-shared hotel accommodation from 5 to 8 December 2018 (3 nights} Local transport (airport-hotel-venue) from 5 to 8 December 2018 Meals from 5 to 8 December 2018 Outline of the Conference The conference,themed "Democracy for Prosperity: Youth's Perspectives",will conduct deliberation on issues related to democracy and prosperity. Participants of BDSC II will convene the Opening Session jointly with the participants of BDF XI and Bali Civ ilsociety and Media Forum (BCSMF),and continue with Panel Discussions within BDSC in the 1st day. On 2nd day, Participants of BDSC will re-join with participants of BDF and BSCMF in Panel Discussions and Closing Session. A representative of BDSC willbe invited to deliver a report at the Closing Session.
