1 Press Release Zurich Airport, 9 October Traffic figures 1st-3rd Quarter SWISS reports increase in passengers over first nine months Swiss International Air Lines carried a total of 12,465,048 passengers between January and September this year, up 1.2% on last year's figure for the same period (: 12,311,965). The number of flights rose by 0.3% to 110,027 (: 109,740). Of those, 96,188 were operated within the European network (no change on last year) and 13,839 within the intercontinental network (+2.0% on ). SWISS made 1.6% more seat km available (ASK) across the entire route network over the first three quarters of the year and revenue passenger km (RPK) increased by 1.4%. At 83.9%, flight capacity utilisation was 0.1 percentage point less than the same period last year (: 84.0%). In its European operations, SWISS reduced the available seat km by 0.8% compared to last year, the volume of revenue passenger km rose by 1.3%. The seat load factor (SLF) was 79.3%. Available seat km in the intercontinental route network increased by 2.7%, revenue passenger km rose by 1.5%. Capacity utilisation therefore fell by 1.0 percentage point compared to last year. In the cargo business, which is operated by Swiss WorldCargo, the cargo load factor by volume fell by 3.7 percentage points to 75.2% against the same period last year (: 78.9%). Revenue cargo tonnes km were down 3.3%. SWISS carries more passengers in July A total of 1,459,646 passengers flew with SWISS in September. This is equivalent to an increase of 0.2% on the last year's figure (: 1,457,180). The SLF fell by 1.0 percentage point to 86.0% (: 87.0%). In European routes the SLF dropped by 0.7 percentage points to 81.5% (: 82.2%). On the intercontinental routes the SLF lost 1.0 percentage point at 88.2% (: 89.2%). Swiss WorldCargo reported a cargo load factor of 73.1% by volume, representing a fall of 5.1 percentage points on last year's figure. 1/2
