2 About Rotasia Pune 2018 Rotasia, the Annual International Conference of Rotaractors and Rotaract Clubs from all over the South Asia It is an international gathering of Rotaractors in the region to exchange information, enhance fellowship, build networks and concentrate ideas and efforts to work together for a common agenda of youths in general Year by year Rotasia has been hosted by different cities in different countries with every year the Host District adding their flavours to it This year it has come to Pune: The Queen of Deccan, hosted by 3131 Rotary International Year being the Golden Jubilee year of Rotaract, Team Rotasia Pune 2018 aims to make this Rotasia not only a grand celebration, but a memorable event to cherish for a long time Districts have been given chance to participate and showcase their representation in numerous forms, District Culturals, Sports, District March, Carnival, etc This Manual unfolds all the events in Rotasia 2018, so you ll know it before you experience it

3 The City of Virtue Pune is the 8th largest metropolis in India It is in the Indian state of Maharashtra The city is famous for the great Maratha king Shivaji Maharaj and the Peshwas The game of badminton was invented here in the 19th century Mula and Mutha are the two rivers that flow through the city It has also been referred to as the "Queen of the Deccan", "Detroit of India" by some Pune is a city of knowledge and often known as the Oxford of the east The city is known for its manufacturing and automobile industries, as well as for research institutes of information technology (IT), education, management and training, which attracts students, and professionals from India, South East Asia, the Middle East and Africa The game of Badminton was developed in Pune and the game's earlier name was Poona The weather in Pune during Rotasia would be sunny and pleasant with pretty cold nights Temperature ranging from 12 to 32 C The name Pune comes from the Sanskrit word Punyanagari It means "the city of virtue" And we here, not only believe in high moral standards, but also explain them sarcastically ;)

11 District Presentations Day 2, 11 In the District Presentations Section, the Representatives of each District (mostly DRRs) give a presentations about the Rotaract Activities in their RI District This helps one understand what a vivid array of projects are done by Rotaractors all around and even builds up ideas Time allotted to each district is strictly minutes No extensions would be tolerated For sending the presentation to the Host Team, contact your District Co-ordinator Following is the order of the District Presentations:

12 Rotasia Culturals Day 2, 2 onwards Being an International Conference, Rotasia is a great platform for Cultural exchange The Rotasia Culturals is the part where you get to showcase your District s culture and also get know about others, through dance performances Time allotted to each district is strictly minutes No extensions would be tolerated For sending the tracks to the Host Team, contact the Rotasia Cultural team or your District Co-ordinator Note: If a district is not participating, it would be skipped from the order Therefore, all participating districts are supposed to be present in the hall onwards

13 Mr & Miss Rotasia Day 2 & 3 Mr and Miss Rotasia is a pageant where in the style, demeanor, smartness of the participant Rotaractors is tested through rounds After passing through all the rounds, the male and female winners would be declared as Mr & Miss Rotasia Pune, respectively Following are the details of the competition: General Rules: Participants should be present at the venue mins earlier Indecency in clothes and behaviour is prohibited Participants are supposed to report backstage, an hour before each round Round (Day, ) The participants shall walk the ramp and introduce themselves They shall be filling up a questionnaire consisting of questions relating to Rotaract and general knowledge Make sure you fill all the questions and submit the forms to the respective volunteer

14 Mr & Miss Rotasia Round (Day, ) Participants selected through round will appear for Round which is the Talent round Participants can showcase any talent which can be performed on the stage Tracks(if any) have to be submitted before February The performance shall be of maximum mins Round (Day, ) There will be a ramp walk of all the finalists and they shall be asked questions by the judges and would be scored on the basis of the answers The decision of Judges will be Final and Binding

15 Inter District Sports Meet Day 3, 8 onwards Venue: SKP Campus Sports included for the Inter Districts Sports meet are, Cricket, Football, Basketball, Chess and Carrom Note: Buses for Sports Participants would depart at sharp Common Rules ( Common to all Sports) Any change in Venue/Game/Duration/overs will be at the discretion of the Organising Team One Team per game per District will be considered for Cricket, Basketball and Football A maximum of Players will be considered from each District for Chess and Carom In case of an unfortunate event or injury the host district and management wont be held responsible Umpire's decision in any game will be considered as final and binding on participants A team maybe disqualified if found misbehaving in any form NO ONSPOT ENTRY WILL BE ALLOWED Draws wont be rescheduled under any circumstances Participants must report as per given time slot Any delay observed will lead to disqualification All games will take place simultaneously, hence participants should avoid participating in games All rights of last minute addition of Rules at the time of the event lies with the management

16 District March Venue: Balewadi Sports Complex Day 3, 3 District March is a unique concept introduced to Rotasia by Each district in there ethnic dresses would put a show of their Culture in the march The Districts can carry their flags, placards etc Note: The organising team would be providing a placard to each district with their respective name(number) Also a flagpole of inch diameter would be provided Following is the order for the district march
