2 NORTH EAST STATES YOUTH CONCLAVE AND AMALGAMATION 2018 The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs Government of Sikkim under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India organized North East States Youth Conclave and Amalgamation at Gangtok from 27 th to 31 st October During the programme, variety of events such as Painting, Quiz, Cultural competitions, (Miteri Saino)Freindship bond and motivational talks were conducted. The dates, events and venue of the programme were as under: Date Events/Programme Venues 27 th October 2018 Registration of Participants Paljor Stadium 28 th October 2018 Opening Ceremony Manan Bhawan, Gangtok. 28 th & 29 th October 2018 Motivational talk Manan Bhawan, Gangtok. 29 th October 2018 Friendship Bond/ Miteyri Saino Manan Bhawan, Gangtok. Programme 28 th & 29 th October 2018 Quiz Competition Manan Bhawan Mini Hall 28 th & 29 th October 2018 Painting Competition Tashi Namgyal Sr. Sec. School Hall 28 th, 29 th & 30 th October 2018 Cultural competitions M.G. Marg 30 th October Closing Ceremony M.G. Marg 1. Registration and lodging of the participants: The registrations of the participant were conducted at Paljor Stadium on 27 th October All participants were provided very good Hotels for lodging and food were provided during all days in same hotel. 2. Opening Ceremony: The Opening Ceremony was conducted at Manan Bhawan today. (28 TH October 2018). The Chief Guest was Shri R.B. Subba, Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, HRDD, Law & Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Department. The guest and dignitaries were Shri Alok Kumar Srivasatav,IAS, Chief Secretary Government of Sikkim, Shri Khem Prasad Dahal, Chairman Sikkim Youth Development Board, Swami Avyayananda Saraswati Acharya Chinmaya Mission Gujarat Ahmadabad, Youth Co-Ordinator All India Chinmaya Yuva Kendra Gujarat, Shri S.D. Dhakal Secretary Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Directors, Joint Directors and other Officers of the Department, Guest Invitees and all participants from North Eastern states. The Chief Guest of the programme and Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim delivered the speech. The Secretary Sports & Youth Affairs Department welcomed all and Director-Cum- Nodal Officer proposed the Vote of Thanks. The was programme was started with colorful cultural programme, blessing by Chief Guest and declaration of North East States Youth Conclave and Amalgamation 2018 OPEN. Page 2 of 14

Motivational Talks: Swami Avyayananda Saraswati, Acharya Chinmaya Mission Gujarat Ahmadabad, Youth Co-Ordinator All India Chinmaya Yuva Kendra Gujarat was Guest speaker for the Motivational Talks. The Motivational Talks on Life Skill was conducted on 28 th & 29 th October 2018 at Manan Bhawan. All Guest, dignitaries, and participants were benefited by his talk on Life Skill. Page 5 of 14

Painting Competitions: The Painting Competitions was conducted at Sir Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School Gangtok on 28 th and 29 th October 2018 in which many painter from seven states showcased their talents on painting. 7. Cultural Competitions and shows: The Folk Dance and Folk Songs Competitive and noncompetitive cultural programme was conducted at M.G. Marg from 2 pm to 6.

The final of Folk songs and folk dances were conducted on 30 th October 2018 during closing ceremony in front of Chief Guest and other Guests.

Marg from 2 pm to 6.30 pm on 28 th, 29 th and 30 th October In competitive events all North East participating states showcase their talents in Folk Song and Folk Dance. The final of Folk songs and folk dances were conducted on 30 th October 2018 during closing ceremony in front of Chief Guest and other Guests. The results of the programme are as under: Group Dance Competitions : 1 st Manipur 2 nd Sikkim (Chandi Dance) 3 rd Assam (Bihu Dance) Group Song Competitions: 1 st Assam 2 nd Sikkim 3 rd Mizoram The non-competition cultural shows were showcased by all other participants at M. G. Marg from 4.30 to 6.30 pm on 28 th 29 th October Page 7 of 14

8. Miteyri Saino/Friendship Bond Programme(Amalgamation of Youth): The Miteyri Saino programme a unique programme of friendship bond of participants were conducted at Manan

Dhakal, Secretary Department of Sports & Youth Affairs Government of Sikkim himself after highlighting the importance and traditional values of Mith.

In the same manner Sikkim male participants paired and made friend with other North East male participants.

Miteyri Saino/Friendship Bond Programme(Amalgamation of Youth): The Miteyri Saino programme a unique programme of friendship bond of participants were conducted at Manan Bhawan on 29 th October The programme was initiated and conducted by Shri S. D. Dhakal, Secretary Department of Sports & Youth Affairs Government of Sikkim himself after highlighting the importance and traditional values of Mith. In this programme each one female participant of Sikkim state paired and made friend with one of the female participant of other North East State. In the same manner Sikkim male participants paired and made friend with other North East male participants. The programme was conducted duly following the custom and tradition of Miteyri Saino with exchange of gift, offering Khadas and Oath Taking Ceremonies of friendship forever during lifetime. The two families of the friend shall remain bonded as a one family forever. This unique concept of Friendship Bond has great importance in bringing peace and tranquility in the society. 9. Quiz Competition: The quiz competition was conducted at Manan Bhawan Mini Hall on 29 th October 2018.

Closing Ceremony : The Closing Ceremony was conducted at M.G. Marg on 30 th October Shri Ashish Hirang Rai, Hon ble Chairman Gangtok Municipal Corporation was the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony Programme. He also inspected the display of Painting work of the Youth Conclave participants at Titanik Partk M.G. Marg before attending the Closing Ceremony. The final of the Folk song and folk dance competition was held in the stage in front of Chief Guest, Guests and Large crowd who were presence there to witness the programme. The programme concluded with Prize Distribution, Vote of Thanks and declaration of North East States Youth Conclave and Amalgamation 2018 CLOSED by the Chief Guest. Page 12 of 14
