A huge THANK YOU to Rance Plyler 80 the staff and volunteers that Garit Graham 91 made this a success. It was great!!! Shawn Perkins from Davin Glascock 86 Melrose said that the kids on Mackenzie Perkins 92 his team said this was the best shoot they have ever been to. 3 PAGE 3 CMP SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR 2017 NATIONAL MATCHES Why Should I Volunteer? Chosen individuals will receive a per diem travel stipend (based on amount of time worked) and exclusive benefits offered only to those who graciously donate their time to helping us provide an exceptional experience for all of our guests. For the past 20 years, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) has been a leader in the marksmanship community. Though our staff members have worked hard to provide unparalleled service for our competitors and guests over the last two decades, we still need more hands to help us facilitate our most popular event of the year - the National Trophy Pistol and Rifle Matches at Camp Perry, Ohio. That's where you come in. The CMP is in search of volunteers to support us during our 2017 National Match events, held in June and July. These volunteers will be assisting with CMP National Match events only and will be picked from a selection process through all received Volunteer Applications. Volunteer duties may include but are not limited to firing line work as range officers, assistance with stats/scorecards or other tasks assigned as needed. Becoming a CMP Volunteer is a worthwhile opportunity for any competition-goer. Not only will volunteers earn behind-the-scenes access to the CMP competitions process, they're also destined to create unforgettable memories with staff members and participants along the way. What Do I Need to Know? All chosen volunteers will attend a specialized Range Officer training course, provided by the CMP, that will quickly brush up on all you need to know. The Range Officer Course is typically offered for $75/person, but is completely FREE for volunteers - a possible $150 value for those volunteering for both rifle and pistol. No past experience is needed to volunteer, though knowledge of guns, gun safety and range procedures is a plus! Can I Still Compete If I Volunteer? Our helpers are welcome and encouraged to compete during times he or she is not volunteering. How Do I Apply? MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS SJWF now has an outdoor bulletin board where the Newsletter is posted. A list of members whose memberships are within 60 days of lapsing is also posted. The bulletin board is mounted on the front exterior wall of the clubhouse. Members please send in your membership dues 30 days prior to the expiration date in order to avoid any interruption in your membership. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Members who provide their address to the SJWF will receive the SJWF enews Update each month. Members will be able to pay their annual dues; sign up and pay for SJWF events; and buy raffle tickets electronically via , but ONLY if SJWF has their address., SJWF Security Officer. CONCEAL CARRY CLASSES Conceal carry classes for a State of New Mexico Conceal Carry License, are offered on a continuing basis, in association with SJWF, by two instructors. Interested potential students may call Mike Freestone ( ) or Bond Kinney ( ). Students can also sign up at East Main Trade. Fees: $175. Class sizes varies, but usually average 6 students per class. NRA COURSES The following NRA Courses are offered by Bond Kinney: Basic Rifle; Basic Pistol; Basic Shotgun; Rifle/pistol Reloading; Shotgun Reloading; Personal Protection in the Home; and the Range Safety Officer Course. Classes of 1 to 5 students (kids and/or adults; at the SJWF clubhouse; Ages 10 thru adult; kids must have parents present. Fees: $40.
