This is the teams first NCAA regional under Clint Wallman s direction. The event begins Thursday, May 10th and concludes Saturday, May 12th.

!! Your Men s and Women s Track and Field teams are headed to Happy Valley this weekend to compete in the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Penn State, May 11-13.

She posted two NCAA qualifying times by winning the 200-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay. Stacey previously qualified for regional competition in the 400-meter dash as well.

1 Indiana University Athletics May 9th, 2007 WHAT S GOING ON IN IU ATHLETICS Spring classes have ended for all Indiana studentathletes but many of our teams and individuals are still competing in their respective sports. Some student-athletes are participating in post season play. The #17 Women s Golf Team is headed to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the NCAA Central Regional Championships. This is the teams first NCAA regional under Clint Wallman s direction. The event begins Thursday, May 10th and concludes Saturday, May 12th. Lastly, Coach Wallman has announced the 2007 Golf Camp dates. For the fifth straight season the Men s Golf Team will have a presence in post season play as sophomore Jorge Campillo earned a spot in the NCAA Central Regional to compete as an individual. Jorge, a First Team All-Big Ten honoree, is the secondseeded individual at the event which will be held at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Course in Sugar Grove, Ill on May

3 Page 3 Volume 2, Issue 2 MEET THE COACH Indiana Volleyball Sherry Dunbar Position: Head Coach Alma Mater: B.S., Ball State 1992 M.S., San Francisco 1996 What attracted you to coming to Indiana to coach? Coming back to Bloomington obviously was a big attraction for me, since I have so many family and friends in this area. It was a comfortable move. Coaching at the highest level, was definitely the drive. Knowing the resources available, the conference and the support that was at Indiana made the difference. What aspect of coaching in the Big Ten are you looking forward to the most? I love the competition-the fact that you have to bring your best game every weekend. I also love the atmosphere with the great crowds the Big Ten draws. What is the most exciting thing about college volleyball? To me the most exciting thing about college volleyball is the no-stop action. Something is always happening-it s just a great spectator sport! What are you long-term goals for the program? I want IU Volleyball to be a program with tradition and excellence. I want there to be pride associated with the type of success we have both on and off the court. What can fans expect from the Hoosiers next season? Fans can expect to see a team that is going to fight and play with a purpose. Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why? My parents have played a big role in my life in giving me a great foundation to build on and then supporting me in my endeavors. What s your favorite sports memory? Beating North Carolina in the first round of the NCAA Tournament while at the College of Charleston has to rank right up there for best memory. We were the first Southern Conference volleyball program to ever win a first-round match. What qualities do you look for in a studentathlete? When recruiting, I look for student-athletes that have the same passion as I have for being successful. I want players that want to be the best and put in the work ethic to do that. They want to no only do just what is expected of them, but also the extra that will put them over the edge. You have to go above and beyond in this conference to be successful. What do you like to do when not coaching volleyball? Spend time with my family when possible. I have a dog, Indy, so I enjoy getting away with her. She was named long before I took this job-but maybe that was a sign! What are your pre-game rituals or superstitions? I don t have any real rituals. I usually pray during the national anthem that our team plays to the best of its ability and no one gets hurt on either team. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? I would like to visit Italy. I ve been fortunate to visit Holland and Australia band I would love to go back, but I ve heard that Italy is fantastic.

My biggest influences are definitely my parents. My dad s a tennis coach and got me into the sport, and my mom played tennis as well. They are really encouraging and had a positive influence on me.

We actually lost to America, but it was a great week and a fantastic experience. What is your favorite sport besides tennis? My favorite sport besides tennis is, without a doubt, cricket.

Hometown: Adelaide, Australia High School: Marryatville Lachlan Ferguson, freshman tennis player from Australia The best thing about Indiana is: The best thing about Indiana is the facilities. We don t have anything like this back in Australia. It s a great opportunity. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? In 10 years, I would like to be working with a professional sports team, perhaps in cricket, that would be nice. Who has had the biggest influence in your life and why? My biggest influences are definitely my parents. My dad s a tennis coach and got me into the sport, and my mom played tennis as well. They are really encouraging and had a positive influence on me. What is your favorite tennis memory? My favorite tennis memory is playing in the semifinals of the Junior Davis Cup for Australia when I was 16. That was a lot of fun. We actually lost to America, but it was a great week and a fantastic experience. What is your favorite sport besides tennis? My favorite sport besides tennis is, without a doubt, cricket. I played a lot when I was younger, but had to give it up when my tennis commitments became too demanding. Something that many people don t know about you is: I m an exceptional equestrian. Place where you would most like to travel and why? I would like to go to Hawaii because I have never been there and I have heard that the beaches are amazing. I can t surf to save my life, but it would be nice to watch people who can. I have tried, but have not had success. What do you like to do when you are not playing tennis?
