4 CLUB CODES OF CONDUCT Agreement to the Club s official codes of conduct is a condition of a player s membership of the club. We encourage good discipline and positive behaviour in our club and remind members, parents, carers & supporters that they are representing the club at all times when training, playing and supporting. If any Code is broken we employ a 3 strike rule. If this is exceeded the player will be asked to leave the club. Players need to read and understand the Codes of Conduct before signing and agreeing to become a member of RVNC. PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT FOR TRAINING SESSIONS 1. If for some reason you cannot attend training, please let your coach know. 2. Registration will be taken prior to the start of each session. If you are injured or ill, please let the person who is taking registration know. Also please discuss with your coach if there are any personal / medical issues that may have an impact on training. 3. All girls must attend training in Club training kit of royal blue skort, white training top and white socks. Appropriate trainers must be worn.(not leisure shoes) 4. Fingernails to be cut to the appropriate length and all jewellery removed. Hair must be tied back. 5. Hydration is very important. It is YOUR responsibility to bring sufficient fluids to training sessions i.e. one litre of water and one energy drink. NO fizzy drinks. Also, one energy bar may be allowed to each session. 6. Discipline is extremely important and disruptive behaviour of any player has a negative influence on training for everyone. The Club has adopted THE THREE STRIKE RULE: i) Any player who is f ound t o be disrupt ing t raining will be verbally warned. This will be recorded by t he coaching st af f and a not e of t he player/s involved. ii) If t he disrupt ion reoccurs, t he player s parent s/guardians will receive writ t en not if icat ion and t he mat t er will report ed t o t he Club s commit t ee. iii) A t hird incident will result in t he commit t ee t erminat ing t he player s membership of t he club. 7. Respect for your coach and who you are training with are paramount. Intimidation towards other members WILL NOT be tolerated. It will be reported and treated as a discipline matter. 8. 5 PLAYERS CODE OF CONDUCT FOR SQUAD As a member of the squad, I fully understand and agree to the following conditions: 1. I realise that I have been selected as a member of the squad for my ability, commitment and hard work. As a member of the squad I will endeavour to work hard to make the Squad a success. 2. I will support and respect fellow Squad members at all times. I know that negative or derogatory comments or intimidation towards other Squad members will not be accepted and such comments can only demoralise a fellow member. 3. Squads for tournaments will be selected by the team Coach/Leader. I am fully aware and happy that if selected. I may have to share my position and in some cases play fewer games than other Squad members. 4. Squads for tournaments will be selected by team Coaches/Leaders. I realise that such selections will be based on my performance and development during training and local league games. 5. I will at all times respect any decisions made by my coach or Leader. I understand that Squad selections are made to win games and not glorify individuals. 6. I will at all times respect any decisions made by officials and show respect towards them. 7. The Club s THREE STRIKE RULE follows whilst playing with a squad as well as training. PARENTS / CARERS / SUPPORTERS CODE OF CONDUCT As a parent, carer and supporter of Ribble Valley Netball Club, I will try to work within the following guidelines: 1. Do not force an unwilling child to participate in netball. 2. Remember children are involved in netball for their enjoyment not yours. 3. Encourage your children to play to the rules and not to argue with umpires or other officials. 4. Teach your child that honest effort is more important than victory so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment. 5. Turn losing into winning by helping your child work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship. 6. Never ridicule or yell at a child for making a mistake or losing a game. 7. Remember that children learn best by example. Applaud good play by your team and by members of the opposition. 8. Do not question the umpire s decisions or honesty. Remember he/she is only human with the same feelings as you, and like you, can sometimes make an honest error. 9. Recognise the importance and value of coaches / team leaders / committee members who are all volunteers. They give children their time and resources to provide netball for your child. 10. Read the rules of netball to understand better what you are watching and commenting on. 11. Promote this Code of Conduct to other parents, carers and supporters. 5
