Yorkshire were asked to host the Netball Europe 2015 event at the Airco Arena in Hull and Humberside County Netball Association provided the volunteers and what amazing volunteers they were! Ball girls and England Netball Rose Buddy Mascots were from local junior netball clubs. Two young Reckitts volunteers, Bethany Sowersby (aged 10) and Sam Evans (aged 14) were there for the full 3 days and took on every role possible and did a great job. The older volunteers were tweeting, videoing, ticket selling and even filling up the ice-baths for the players after the game! Volunteers also manned the Cancer Research UK stall, asking for donations to Guess which cupcake has the biggest number of chocolate chips, selling CRUK pink shoe-laces and asking for donations for programmes. The amount raised was 480 for Cancer Research. Pauline Hardy, Humberside Netball Development Officer said our volunteer workforce are amazing people who are passionate about netball and give up their time to help and support events such as this and Yorkshire Jets Superleague matches held at the Airco Arena in Hull.
