The Bears tied the score 1-1 by the end of the first but were unable to get on the board in the final two periods as the Wildcats netted two goals in the second period to take the win. Brown falls to on the season while New Hampshire improves to Sophomore Jessica Link scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season off a rebound from freshman Karen Thatcher with less than two minutes remaining in the first period to tie the game 1-1. Sophomore Amy McLaughlin also earned an assist on the play. The Wildcats quickly broke the tie, scoring five minutes into the second period. The Wildcats increased their lead to two on a power play at the 13:28 mark of the second. Dreyer helped keep the Wildcats lead to two, making a several key saves in the final ten minutes of the game as neither team scored in the final period. Women s Icers Top Wayne State 5-1 The Brown women's hockey team defeated Wayne State 5-1 Friday afternoon at Meehan Auditorium. Brown scored five unanswered goals, including four in the final period, after going down 1-0 early in the game. Five different players scored for the Bears as they out shot the Warriors The win improves Brown's record to while Wayne State falls to 5-9 on the season. Naomi Kupferstein got Wayne State on the board first just 3:31 into the game. Kupferstein slipped the puck past Brown senior goalkeeper Pam Dreyer on a scramble in front of the net. Brown surged in the second and third period, out shooting the Warriors Sophomore Katie Guay tied the game at the 16:19 mark of the second period. Junior Kelly Sheridan picked up an assist on the play. The Bears went on a scoring frenzy in the final period, scoring four goals to take the 5-1 win. Freshman Keaton Zucker knocked in her third goal of the season from the right face-off circle to give the Bears the lead for good 6:14 into the period. Sophomore Amy McLaughlin earned an assist on the play. Freshman Karen Thatcher found the back of the net at the 12:42 mark with senior Courtney Johnson picking up the assist. Sophomore Kerry Nugent gave the Bears a 4-1 lead at the 17:31 mark. Junior Marguerite McDonald picked up her third assist of the season on the play. Less then a minute later, McLaughlin found an opening in the corner of the net from the right face-off circle to give the Bears a 5-1 lead. In net, Dreyer made 15 saves for the Bears while Vander-Marliere recorded 33 saves for Wayne State.

2 Current Records Brown: Boston College: The History-Brown vs. BC Last Meeting-Feb. 17, 2001 Brown 5, Boston College 1 BROWN VS. BOSTON COLLEGE The Bears cruised to a 5-1 victory the last time the two teams met, as head coach Digit Murphy picked up her 200th career win. She was the first female collegiate hockey coach to reach that milestone. The win extendedthe Bears winning streak over the Eagles to six games and their overall win streak to eight games that season. Brown took a 2-0 lead early in the game as the Eagles scored their lone goal early in the second period. Brown went on to score three answered goals to take the win. Courtney Johnson recorded a goal and an assist in the game. Katie Germain and Pam Dreyer split time in net as Germain made 11 stops and Dreyer came in to make 5 saves. Sv% GAA Rec 35 Pam Dreyer 770: Katie Germain 80: Bear Notes -Six members of the team returned from the U.S. National Olympic Training Camp in New York, which took place from Dec. 26-Jan. 2. -The Bears rebounded back from a slow start against Wayne State as they scored four goals in the final period and out-shot the Warriors 29-8 in the final two period, taking the win 5-1. The game was the Bears first action in three weeks. -Five different players scored for Brown against the Warriors as ten players have five or more points on the season -The following day, the team traveled to New Hampshire to take on the seventh ranked Wildcats. Sophomore Jessica Link scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season with less than two minutes remaining in the first to tie the game 1-1. New Hampshire went on to score two goals in the second as the Bears were unable to get on the board in the final two periods. -Sophomore Amy McLaughlin is second in the ECAC in defenseman scoring with 12 points. -Brown will face Princeton on Friday and Yale on Saturday. The week will complete the Bears longest road trip in Brown has won its last three games at Princeton as the team looks to even the all-time series, which currently stands at On Saturday the Bears will be looking for their 31st straight win against the Bulldogs as they have not lost to Yale in 15 years, dating back to Brown has defeated Yale 48 out of 51 times. Last season the two faced off three times in a row, including two ECAC Quarterfinals matches.
