5 2015 Interim General Meeting President s Report Jeremy Gough HIGHLITES Registrations up 8% from OMHA grew by 5 teams, 1 Novice female, 1 Peewee female, 2 Peewee House, 1 Midget House team Initiation teams grew by 1 player each to eliminate the waiting list. We lost 1 Midget team but gained a second Midget AA team. Jamie was able to pick up additional ice to accommodate the increase in teams. There is 3 new Stavely Ice slots, 1 Blackie, 2 Oilfields outdoor ice slots. We lost 4 morning practice slots but gained 2 evening practice times after we gained the 2 nd Midget AA team. By making these two additional evening practice times shared Jamie is able to have the same number of teams practice in town as last season. Each team is still able to have 2 practices a week with this additional ice.

10 2015 Interim General Meeting Operations Coordinator Jamie Steer CAHL, 24 teams did Tiering round. RMFHL, Okotoks hosted the tiering Tournament for the first time. This was another good event here in Okotoks. Introduction of a lot of new associations in CAHL made the league bigger and better. Did make for a long re-tiering meeting but I think most of our teams got where they wanted or needed to be. No teams booked tournaments in the seeding round so teams are listening to the rules. Okotoks teams played a lot of games in Tiering which was good. Good luck to all teams this season both in the RMFHL and CAHL. Q & A

11 2015 Interim General Meeting Admin Assistant Lindsay Graw Registration numbers Total registered This is up 96 players from last year We were able to accommodate all players in OMHA except some house players because these teams maxed out so early. Respect in Sport Update RIS coach as of November 15 th. 3 coaches did not complete RIS Coach so they were released. RIS parent as of November 15 th. 3 Initiation parents. They need to complete asap Q & A

Linday Graw checking coaches certifications for Coach Certifications registered Coaches in OMHA. Only 3 did not complete RIS coach. Police Record Checks Some are in progress due to delay processing. 13 2015 Interim General Meeting VP of Programs Jeff Faye Evaluations Thank you Directors for a tremendous job done this year! Thanks to the majority of the membership for being respectful participants in the eval, team selection process. Feedback will be obtained from the Board and OMHA to review the process of improving the evaluation and team selection process for next year and the future. Discussions started to help fill much needed volunteer positions as OMHA/OOAA will be growing 5 10% on average in the coming years. Okotoks Minor Hockey communication working to start a newsletter/blog to help distribute info to membership this season. Oilers/Bison s OMHA has been distributing schedule info for the Oilers and Bison s Jr. teams to further enhance the experiences for the membership. - House Hockey A continued success in 2015/2016. It will be a program that will expand further in the coming years. Q & A

14 2015 Interim General Meeting Treasurer Report - Amanda Germain Breakdown of Expenses 2015 Subcontract 20% Other 3% Donations 3% Credit Card processing 3% Insurance & Carding 7% Photos 2% Equipment 1% Registration & Coach clinics 2% Ice Rentals 59% Revenue for the 2015/2014 season was 969,752 vs expenses of $878, 918 resulting in net profit of $90,834, which included our fundraising activities. We are slowly building up our reserves again in order to start replacing jerseys as well as the commitment to the twinning of Pason Centennial. The 2014/2015 season was wrapped up with a Jersey s and Jean s Fundraiser which raised $49,811 towards the twinning of the Pason Centennial Arena. This years end of the year fundraising event is scheduled for April 23 and we are looking forward to another great event. We donated an additional $20,000 to the Scott Seaman arena to help get their kitchen off the ground in 2014/2015 season We have an upcoming casino in March 2016, more details will follow early in the New Year. This is a great opportunity for OMHA to raise some additional funds to help keep fees as low as possible and to help our jersey and equipment replacement needs in the next couple of years.

21 Shinney Division Director Jason Krueger Shinny has 15 registered players. Many are returning from last year. Jason is grateful of the on ice help by two parent volunteers as well as the help by others in organizing events like a year end party. There still lots of interest in the Shinny program. There are potentially two issues that may warrant further discussion however both are impacted by available ice: Students who attend Public schools in Okotoks are unable to participate in Shinny due to the early ice time and their later school day.

22 House Hockey Division Director Tara Woodgate-Small Peewee, Bantam and Midget First year in the Rocky Hockey League (RHL) for Okotoks. This house league is non-contact. Alberta Hockey rules apply to this league. Season is underway. Rosters are full for all five teams (two peewee, one bantam & two midget). For Peewee/Bantam/Midget: Canmore (no midget team), Cochrane, Airdrie and Okotoks are in the Division for 2015/2016.

23 Initiation Division Director Nick Ruigrok 192 Initiation aged players on 12 teams Lots of new members in OMHA starting out in Initiation this year. 123 second year players (2009 birth year) 69 first year players (2009 birth year) 163 Male players 29 Female players 50+ carded coaches Going to be working with High Country and Foothills teams to play during our weekend jamborees both at their facilities and ours.

24 Novice Division Director Andrew Wingate 213 players make up 11 co-ed OMHA teams and 2 CAHL teams Novice division grew by 4% from last year 8 more players Smooth evaluation process with good volunteer turnout 2 travel teams play in Tier 1 CAHL good showing in tiering round 5 co-ed teams in House A division 6 co-ed teams in House B division (these teams also play against 3 very competitive female Novice teams along with a Foothills Flyers team that joined the league last year) Novice teams participated in the Dodge Caravan Kids program along with the ENMAX apparel sponsorship program 2 important sources of funds for our teams All House teams received new jerseys and socks thanks to a Canadian Tire sponsorship Okotoks Novice Friendship Tournament to be held the weekend before Christmas - thanks to tournament coordinator Jenn Zaffino

25 Atom Division Director Roy Bowlby Assistant Director Nancy Bowlby The Atom division is comprised of 189 players playing in the co-ed hockey division. The players were placed on 12 teams, 96 players on 6 teams playing in CAHL & 93 players on 6 teams playing in the House Program. Atom CAHL Teams & Coaches are: Atom 1 Green - Head Coach: Keith Harris Tiered as AT1S After Re-Tiering AT1S Atom 1 Gold - Head Coach: Chad Martin Tiered as T1S After Re-Tiering AT1S Atom 2 - Head Coach: Andrew Wingate Tiered as AT3S After Re-Tiering AT3 Atom 3 - Head Coach: David Gilbert Tiered as AT4N After Re-Tiering AT4W Atom 4 - Head Coach: Sheldon Kinghorn Tiered as AT6 Green After Re-Tiering AT4W Atom 5 - Head Coach: Mark Hallam Tiered as AT6 Gold After Re-Tiering AT5 * All CAHL Atom teams tiered up in after the tiering round was completed. 26 Peewee Division Director Kevin Pashuk We had 176 registered in Peewee this year. 36 went to Peewee AA (OOAA) CAHL teams originally had been put into tiers 1 to 6. Peewee 1 Moved to Tier 2 after re-tier. Coach John Bonham Peewee 2 In Tier 3 after re-tier. Coach Roy Bowlby Peewee 3 In Tier 4 after re-tier. Coach Trevor McFarlane Peewee 4 - In Tier 5 after re-tier. Coach James Archer Peewee 5 Green In Tier 6 after re-tier. Coach - Syd Gerig Peewee 5 Gold In Tier 5 after re-tier. Coach Ryan Rarick Peewee 6 Green In Tier 7 after re-tier. Coach Kevin Chanut Peewee 6 Gold In Tier 8 after re-tier. Coach Andrew McAllister All teams appear to be with like skilled teams. There will always be the exceptions, of course. In general most games should be competitive. Only 7 goalies registered for Travel. We added a goalie from House to give each team a goalie. Great for goalies to play every game. Each team has a goalie affiliated with other options possible.

27 Bantam Division Director Karla Helm Total Bantam Enrollment = 122 players AAA = 9 players AA = 19 players OMHA = 94 players remained (this includes 6 players that either requested releases or dropped out after evaluations) OMHA Bantam 1 - Tier 1 OMHA Bantam 2 - Tier 2 OMHA Bantam 3 - Tier 3 OMHA Bantam 4 - Tier 5 OMHA Bantam 5 - Tier 6 Coach: Paul Bartlett (10F/5D/2G) Coach: Rob Hale (9F/6D/2G) Coach: David Eagleton (10F/5D/2G) Coach: Joe Fleet (12F/5D/2G) Coach: Darcy Bishop (11F/5D/2G) Comments from Membership: 1)Skills component overall, had positive feedback. Communications were well received. 2)Goalie Evaluations overall, had good feedback about the improvements made. 3)Managers did not enjoy the added pressures of finding tournaments before Nov 8 as there are lots of tournaments still in the planning stages and have no dates yet.

28 Midget Division Director Ron Kanten 3 CAHL teams (-2 from 2014/2015) but added 1 AA team Tier 1 Midget 1 HC: Jim Dokter (11F / 6D / 2G) Tier 3 Midget 2 HC: Mark Mitchell (12F / 6D / 2G) Tier 5 Midget 3 HC: Justin Dolan (12F / 6D / 2G) Midget 2 and Midget 3 have oversized rosters due to numbers 1 Team less than last year factoring in 2 nd Midget AA team Team Selections of AAA/AA teams pushed back OMHA Midget Evaluations Because of late changes to numbers, 2 goalies are not playing in Okotoks

29 Female Division Director Carrie Fischer 210 girls in the female division. 13 Teams playing in OMHA. House teams include: 3 equal Novice B. Travel teams playing in Rocky Mountain Female Hockey League include: 3 equal Atom, 1 Peewee A, 2 equal Peewee B, 1 Bantam A, 1 Bantam B, 1 Midget A and 1 Midget B. Held the Okotoks Female Hockey Classic on the weekend of November th with 40+ teams participating in 10 divisions. Two teams won the tournament final. RMFHL has expanded this year, now having a north (20 teams) and south (67 teams) division.

30 Okotoks Referee Association (ORA) Referee Liaison Kerry Rawson ORA is supplying refs for the Foothills Minor Hockey Association and beyond as well as OMHA/OOAA. Ref numbers are down this year which is a challenge supplying refs for all the games.

31 Police Record Check Coordinator Lindsay Graw Police Record Checks need to be in asap that are not yet. The rest are waiting for the PRC to be processed by the RCMP.

32 Game and Conduct Director Doug Baba Past year several complaints brought forward over parent, player, coach and manager conduct. All cases investigated, noted and retained for history. Goal for this year is to focus on reducing the number of cases involving verbal abuse/harassment of Players, Coaches, Team Management, Parents, and Referees.

33 Sponsorship Director Angie Hodgins Sponsorship Update Jersey Sponsorship Eight jersey sponsors this year (up from five in our first year of the program) Grand Slam Sports, Okotoks Orthodontics (3), Classic Source for Sports, Calgary Paving, Okotoks Oilers, Scotiabank Division Sponsors Initiation - Tim Horton's Novice - Canadian Tire (new jerseys are being used this year), Dodge Caravan, Enmax Atom McDonalds Program Sponsors Summit Sports - team meetings are available to be scheduled, first aid kits donated Okotoks Oilers - coaches training sessions scheduled Professional Skate cards have been distributed Canadian Brewhouse team certificates have been distributed Basket Sponsors First year for this program so far we have 2 sponsors, another 3 or 4 are expected to join Tradewinds Promotional Products, Alcan Hockey Year End Fundraising Event Funds generated for twinning the Centennial Arena April 23, Jerseys & Jeans Theme - Dinner & Dance Held at the Okotoks Culing Rink ice surface, tickets will be printed soon, more details to follow.

34 Apparel By OMHA Committee Apparel Update Successes - Positive feedback from membership about reducing the need to purchase new apparel season to season - Branding Guidelines revamped for 2015/2016 Challenges - Finding one size for the logo that is proportionate for all sizes of apparel - On line ordering system to be discussed for future years Moving Forward - Expanding items on the apparel list - Added the Black and White logo option for 2015/2016
