About the Blugolds: UW-Eau Claire enters Friday s game at UW-Stevens Point with a 12-7 record and a 6-6 mark in the NCHA. The Blugolds swept St. Scholastica 5-3 and 5-2 on the road last weekend. Eau Claire, which is 9-3 in its last 12 games, has scored

3 at least two goals in every game during that stretch. Sophomore forward Jordan Singer leads the Blugolds in scoring with 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points. Seven of Singer s markers have come on the power play. Sophomore forward Kurt Weston has nine goals and nine assists for 18 points, while junior forward Tyler Romasco has eight goals and nine assists for 17 points. Passing Peters: St. Norbert head coach Tim Coghlin has achieved a historic milestone - the winningest coach in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association history. Coghlin enters the weekend with a record with the Green Knights as members of the NCHA. St. Norbert went as an independent in Coghlin s first year. Coghlin s record passed the previous NCHA mark of Bemidji State s Bob Peters, who went in 1982 and Peters is the namesake of the NCHA s post-season championship trophy - the Peters Cup. Only five other coaches have at least 200 wins while coaching in the NCHA: River Falls Steve Freeman is third at , former UW- Stevens Point coach Joe Baldarotta is fourth at , Superior s Steve Nelson is fifth at while his successor, Dan Stauber, recently joined the 200-win club and is in 11 seasons. The Green Knights had been ranked third in the first four USCHO polls this season before moving up to second for three weeks. St. Norbert, which has been ranked No. 1 for the last two weeks, moved back to No. 2 the last two weeks. The Green Knights have been ranked in 202 of 206 polls conducted since its inception at the start of the season - the most of any school in Division III. The Green Knights are 2-1 against ranked teams this season after losing 4-3 to then-no. 15 Hamline on Nov. 5. St. Norbert then swept No. 10 UW-Stevens Point 3-2 and 2-0 on Nov During the 164-week stretch of being ranked, St. Norbert has been No. 1 for 45 weeks - second only to Norwich s 48. St. Norbert was rated No. 1 in the 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 final polls. The Green Knights are all-time when ranked No. 1.
