Welcome Welcome to the 25th Annual Everblack Angus Bull & Female Sale, with guest consignor Allandale Angus. What a tremendous set of bulls and females! Time is an interesting thing that few of us ever consider it a positive in our lives. The time has treated us well; but enough about that. The Angus industry has evolved into a dynamic element of the beef industry. We have watched it grow, while people like Ernie and Judy and their family have laid the groundwork for all to benefit. The exciting part of the whole development is watching the Everblack Angus herd grow and improve. The program has become one of the best annual sources of great two-year-old Black Angus bulls. Not wolves dressed in sheep s clothing. These bulls are bred and developed to express their genetic makeup. The performance bulls are just that, while the calving ease bulls are bred for and identified as such. Ernie and family have, for many years, sourced the best genetics that fit their program and also their customers needs. To reflect on all of the great herd sires that have walked their pastures would take volumes, but the excellent results are in front of you. To compliment the sale, Allandale Angus Wayne Stetson has annually consigned the lion s share of stout yearlings. His cow herd is exceptional while the genetics of the powerful yearling bulls are up to date and popular. Let us not forget the Everblack yearling heifers. What a special offering for 2017 that is following up the great set of heifers from previous sales whose production for their new owners has been unparalleled. 3 Everblack Angus Welcome Everblack Angus Work Ethic Welcome to the annual Everblack and Allandale Common Sense Bull & Female Sale. I don t know what to say about this cattle market. It s so volatile. Some days are crazy good. Some days are just plain good. It s tough to know when to sell our cattle. I guess the best you can do is to top the market the day you sell. That s why we all buy the best bulls we can afford. A bit about our program We calve a few cows in mid February through March to get some yearlings for our bull sale. The remainder of the herd calves from mid April to mid June back in the hills with very little supervision. No yearlings are sold privately which gives us a nice set of two year olds that aren t picked over. February-March calves are weaned the first week of October; April and younger calves are weaned at the end of November. Weaning weights are actual, not adjusted. Our bulls to use on heifers are the result of mating calving-ease bulls to low birth weight cows. This gives us calving ease consistency on both sides of the pedigree. Again this year, we are bringing you a good selection of bulls. Stout, rugged bulls for your cowherd. Easy-calving bulls for your heifers. All are sound, semen tested, and guaranteed 100%. 36 Notes Bull Warranty, Terms & Conditions BULL WARRANTY We guarantee to provide you with a sound, fertile bull capable of servicing a reasonable number of cows. In the event that your bull is a non-satisfactory breeder, the seller will not, under any circumstances, be responsible for more than the original selling price of any bull or female sold in the sale. The consignors will not provide replacement or credit for physical injury or mismanagement. Therefore we stress the importance of insurance on your bull. An insurance agent will be available on sale day. TERMS & CONDITIONS CATTLE INSPECTION: All cattle will carry ear tags corresponding to lot numbers. We encourage inspection of the sale cattle at the farm any time prior to the sale. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements made from the auction block on sale day shall take precedence over printed material in the catalogue. It is therefore the buyer s responsibility to pay attention to any such announcements. HEALTH: Overall herd health is excellent. Official vaccinates are designated.
