1 NEWSLETTER 28 JUNE 2017 Don t forget tomorrow is time trial starting at 17h30 near the Hilton Methodist Church in Hilton Gardens. Venue: Collegians Club, 381 Boshoff Street, Pietermaritzburg. Date: Saturday, 5 August 2017 Start Time: 7 am Cut-off Time: 7 pm Solo Entry Fee: R Teams: Three participants will constitute a team. Clubs are encouraged to enter teams. However, any three participants may make up their own team Temporary Licence: R25.00 Information: Entry confirmations & Race Day information will be posted on the website Team entry fee: Entries Close: R (R150 per participant) Saturday 22 July 2017 or when 150 entries have been received, whichever is the earliest. Enquiries: Race office Seconding: A quality refreshment station will be provided but you are encouraged to bring your personal seconding team. Lap Scoring: Prizes: Lap scoring and time keeping by FinishTime Numerous Lucky Draw prizes will be drawn throughout the day and presented at prize giving.

2 RUN OR WALK THE PROGRESSIVE MARATHON 2017 Date: Monday 17 th July to Saturday 22nd July 2017 Total Distance: 42.2km Daily Distances: Monday 17 th July 7km Tuesday18 th July 7km Wednesday 19th July 7km Thursday 20 th July 7km Friday 21st July 7km Saturday 22nd th July 7km Entry Fee: R150 for RWFL members and R170 for non-members Cut-Off Time: No time limit Closing date for entries: FRIDAY 7 th JULY 2017 (no t-shirt for late entries after this date) Event Rules You must complete each day s distance in the company of at least one other athlete to verify your participation. to the organisers. Once you have completed each session you must sms, whatsapp or your time You can complete the distances at any time of day, provided you complete them on the specified day. You are welcome to attend the Run Walk for Life sessions at Scottsville Primary School, Carter High or Laddsworth Primary to complete that day s distance. The final session will take place on Saturday 22nd July 2017 and all entrants will be required to attend this session at Scottsville Primary School. Coffee, tea and breakfast rolls will be on sale. All finishers will receive an event t-shirt

4 A massive well done to Kev Meier who completed the Freedom challenge, a 2200km long cycle race, on Tuesday the 27 th of June. We will squeeze a race report out of him for the next newsletter watch this space. DON T FORGET ABOUT THE HILTON HARRIERS 21 km CHALLENGE! For those who don t know, the 21 km challenge is something that runs over the whole year and the award is given out at the HH Christmas function. Submit a minimum of three 21 km official race (i.e. the results must be verifiable) times and the person who improves the most over the year wins.
