In 1926 a floating trophy was donated by the Duke of York Lodge to the then Pietermaritzburg Athletic and Cycling Club for the race and the first run took place in There is also 5 km fun run/walk. 3 CASCADES NIGHT TRAIL RUN Date: 02 September 2016 Venue: Cascades, PMB Distances: 5km, 10km Entry Fee: R80 / R110 Pre-entries: Close midday 01 September. Late Entries: Available at the start, R40 late entry fee applies (U18s exempt) Start: 6:30pm, Registration: from 5pm, Race briefing: 6:20pm. For those interested in doing the SAPS Striders 21.1 km on the 11 th of September please note: VENUE for the race is now Hoy Park, Sylvester Ntuli Road. ( NOT KINGSPARK ATHLETICS STADIUM AS IN CALENDAR) This is a good opportunity to get a 21.1 kkm tome for the 21 km challenge! Submit your times to stephjoyner18@gmail.com 100 Capital Classic 23 September All you have to do to earn this beautiful bronze medal is a minimum of 60 kilometres between 8pm Friday 23rd and 8am Saturday 24th September. It's all going to be happening in Alexandra Park in Maritzburg Comrades Marathon Don t forget the opening date for entries is 1 September The entry period closes on 30 November 2016 or as soon as the entry cap of 20,000 has been reached. Prospective entrants are encouraged to get their entries in early to avoid disappointment.

4 Entry fees for the 2017 Comrades Marathon are as follows: Local Entries: R Rest of Africa: R International: R South African runners will be eligible for the early bird entry fee of R420 if their entry is received before 30 September The regular South African entry fee of R460 will kick in on 1 October 2016 until the entry process closes. A big well done to Judith Grove, a Harrier now living in Cape Town, who has been included in the WP XC Team to take part in the SA XC Championships in George on the 10 th of September. Hi All Clubs The KPMG Relay is open to all clubs this year. It takes place at Kings park Growthpoint Stadium at 2pm Saturday 24 th September. Teams of 4 runners Male, Female or mixed. Each person runs 5km Tent sites need to be booked but are free for clubs and schools (Companies pay for theirs) Just set up your club gazebo. Music, Food Vendors. Should be lots of fun guys.
