3 Measuring principe Measuring principe. Overview VEGABAR 86 and 87 The VEGABAR 86 and 87 meet a requirements paced on submersibe pressure transmitters. Exceent measurement accuracy, overoad resistance as we as temperature and corrosion resistance are the main criteria that are fufied. In conjunction with appication-optimized housing versions and eectronics, these submersibe pressure transmitters are idea for use in harsh environments. The front-fush, abrasion resistant ceramic measuring ce CERTEC in particuar, with its doube sea system, offers maximum reiabiity and operationa safety. VEGAWELL 5 The submersibe pressure transmitter VEGAWELL 5 is designed for eve measurement in the water/wastewater industry. Different versions in combination with various cabe materias offer a necessary options. The rugged CERTEC measuring ce as we as the integrated overvotage protection system guarantee reiabe operation.. Measuring ce technoogy VEGABAR 86 The sensor eement is the CERTEC measuring ce with front-fush, abrasion resistant ceramic diaphragm. The hydrostatic pressure of the medium or the process pressure causes a capacitance change in the measuring ce via the diaphragm. The hydrostatic pressure of the medium or the process pressure causes a capacitance change in the measuring ce via the diaphragm. The resistance vaue can be processed via an externa temperature transmitter. The CERTEC measuring ce is aso equipped with a temperature sensor. The temperature vaue can be dispayed via the dispay and adjustment modue or processed via the signa output. VEGABAR 87 The process pressure acts on the sensor eement via the stainess stee diaphragm. The process pressure causes a resistance change which is converted into a corresponding output signa and outputted as measured vaue. The METEC measuring ce is the sensor eement. It consists of the ceramic-capacitive CERTEC measuring ce and a specia, temperature-compensated chemica sea system EN-065 Hydrostatic Submersibe pressure transmitter

5 Instrument seection Instrument seection Appication area VEGABAR 86 The VEGABAR 86 is a submersibe pressure transmitter for eve measurement in wes, basins and open vesses. Great fexibiity through the use of different cabe and tube versions aows VEGABAR 86 to be empoyed in many different appications. VEGABAR 87 The VEGABAR 87 is a pressure transmitter for pressure and eve measurement of iquids and viscous products in the chemica, food processing and pharmaceutica industries. VEGABAR 87 can be used for extremey sma measuring ranges 0. bar. VEGAWELL 5 VEGAWELL 5 ends itsef we for continuous eve measurement of iquids. Typica appications are measurements in water/waste water faciities, in deep wes and in the shipbuiding industry. 8 Mounting 6 Mounting Instaation position The suspension cabe versions must be mounted in a cam area or in a suitabe protective tube. This avoids atera movements of the transmitter and the resuting distortion of measurement data. The suspension cabe contains, apart from the connection cabes and the suspension wire, aso the capiaries for atmospheric pressure compensation. The eectronics is competey encapsuated to protect against vibration and moisture. The terminas for votage suppy as we as the contact pins with I²C interface for parameter adjustment are ocated on the upper side of the eectronics. In the doube-chamber housing, the terminas are ocated in the separate termina compartment. You can find the data of the votage suppy in chapter "Technica data" in the operating instructions manua of the respective instrument. The eectronics is competey encapsuated to protect against vibration and moisture. Doube chamber housing The terminas for votage suppy as we as the pug with I²C interface for parameter adjustment are ocated on the upper side of the eectronics. In the doube-chamber housing, these connection eements are ocated in the separate termina compartment. Votage suppy The votage suppy is provided by a Profibus DP /PA segment couper. In the product configurator of VEGABAR, different cabe gands are avaiabe. This seection covers a cabe diameters in the range of mm ( in). Make sure that the entire instaation is carried out according to the Profibus specification. In particuar, make sure that the bus is terminated with suitabe terminating resistors. Cabe screening and grounding In systems with potentia equaisation, connect the cabe screen directy to ground potentia at the power suppy unit, in the connection box and at the sensor. The screen in the sensor must be connected directy to the interna ground termina. The ground termina outside on the housing must be connected to the potentia equaisation (ow impedance). In systems without potentia equaisation, connect the cabe screen directy to ground potentia on the power suppy unit and the sensor. In the connection box or T-distributor, the screen of the short stub to the sensor must not be connected to ground potentia or to another cabe screen. The screen in the sensor must be connected directy to the interna ground termina. The ground termina outside on the housing must be connected to the potentia equaisation (ow impedance). Votage suppy The Save sensor can be mounted up to 5 m away from the Master sensor, by which it is directy powered. A separate power suppy is not required. Connection cabe VEGABAR is connected to the sensor with standard four-wire, screened cabe. In the product configurator of VEGABAR, different cabe gands are avaiabe. This seection covers a cabe diameters in the range of mm ( in). Cabe screen and grounding Connect the cabe screen on both ends to ground potentia. In VEGABAR Save and Master sensor, the screen must be connected directy to the interna ground termina. The ground termina on the outside of the respective housing must be connected to the potentia equaisation (ow impedance). Dispay and adjustment modue PLICSCOM The puggabe dispay and adjustment modue is used for measured vaue indication, operation and diagnosis. It is equipped with an iuminated fu dot matrix as we as four keys for adjustment. sensor as we as the dispay and adjustment modue are spash-proof even without housing cover.. PACTware/DTM As an aternative to the dispay and adjustment modue, the sensor can aso be configured via a Windows PC. To do this, the configuration software PACTware and a suitabe instrument driver (DTM) according to the FDT standard are required. The current PACTware version as we as a avaiabe DTMs are compied in a DTM Coection. The DTMs can aso be integrated into other frame appications according to the FDT standard. A device DTMs are avaiabe as a free-of-charge standardversion and as a fu version that must be purchased. In the standard version, a functions for compete setup are aready incuded. An assistant for simpe project configuration simpifies the adjustment consideraby. Saving/printing the project as we as import/export functions are aso part of the standard version. In the fu version there is aso an extended print function for compete project documentation as we as a save function for measured vaue and echo curves. In addition, there is a tank cacuation program as we as a mutiviewer for dispay and anaysis of the saved measured vaue and echo curves. Connection of the PC via VEGACONNECT The interface converter VEGACONNECT is required for connection of the PC. On the computer side, the connectionis made via USB interface. The VEGACONNECT is paced instead of the dispay and adjustment modue to the sensor, the connection to the sensor is made automaticay. As an aternative the connection via the HART signa can be carried out on any position of the signa cabe with 0 ma/hart sensors.
