Deb only received 8 orders for the bags and she needed 12 orders to get the rate that she quoted to us. Swim suits are in. Clothing will be here in a couple of weeks. Duct Tape Boat Race & Ice Cream July 9 th DUCT TAPE CARDBOARD BOAT RACE AND ICE CREAM Wednesday is the annual boat and ice cream fun day!!! Everyone please make a boat and have it ready to float for 5pm (1st and 2nd hour). Remember, it is only boats that are made entirely out of cardboard and duct tape. After the fun of racing we will have ice cream on the grass. Looking forward to all the fun creative boats. AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM BINGO CO-ORDINATOR All Bingos for the 2014 Swim Season must be signed up for by July 15, or cheques will be cashed. This allows us to find replacement workers for bingos that do not have positions filled. Families who still needed to sign up were sent a reminder last week stating the number of bingos they need to work. Devon Swim Meet July 12 th Come sign-up before Wednesday to be a part of the Devon Dolphins Swim Meet. This is also an outdoor venue so be prepared for inclement weather. Just like the Drayton Valley meet, bring your tents, sunscreen and bug spray (and maybe an umbrella and warm clothes). Please be at the pool at 6:45am. Night all day Saturday) August 9/10 Region B Championships (Two day meet Sat/Sun) August Provincials (Kinsmen, Edmonton) Morning swims will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday every week until Provincials for 2 nd hour 7:45am-8:45am. Evening practice will be as usual for the rest of the week.

3 Our Swim Meet in the Shark Tank July 25/26 In addition to the sign up board we need someone to sing O Canada this can be a parent or a child. There are sign up sheets posted for volunteering for our swim meet on the bulletin board at the pool. We would like everyone involved so please sign up for the positions that you would like to fill. 5 Entries: Please submit entries by Tuesday, July pm 4 individual events per swimmer 2 relays per swimmer Deck entries will be considered at the discretion of the referee and provided they do not require the addition of another heat. Entries will be scheduled into empty lane in existing heats. Events may be combined. Exhibition swimmers must be identified at the time of entry Swimmers in 800m and 1500m events must supply own set of lap counters and a person to operate lap counters, if required. Please note: No scratches allowed as meet will be pre-seeded on Friday morning and Heat Sheets will be printed in advance If the swimmer does not show this will result in an empty lane Rules: SNC warm up procedure will be in effect. FINA start rule (one start) will be enforced. All swimmers must be registered with ASSA. No OOPS cards will be issued, DQ cards (Disqualifications) will be issued to all age categories as required. Start Times: Friday, July 25, 2014 Warm Up: 6:45-7:00 pm Start: 7:00 pm Saturday, July 26,2014 Warm Up: 7:30 8:15 am Start: 8:30 am Hytech Meet Manager: The Hytech program will be used. Coaches are requested to enter relay teams using HyTech. Relay changes must be handed into the Clerk of Course by 10:00 am on Saturday. Scratches: Scratches should be submitted via (softfx@softfx.ab.ca) no later than Friday, July 25 by 8:00 a.m. On-deck scratches not allowed.

6 Heat Sheets: Available after 6:30 pm on Friday and 7:15 am on Saturday for the cost of $3. Awards: I Beat My Time ribbons will be awarded appropriately. Ribbons will be awarded to the top six placings in each event, using the point system. Relay events will not be calculated into the team or individual aggregate totals. Aggregate medals will be awarded to the top three male and female swimmers in each age category. Medal Presentations will occur on the deck following relays. Ribbons will be available for pick up after the meet (if possible) Results: Results will be available on the ASSA website following the meet. Coaches: Due to limited space, coaches are not permitted in the Electronics office. Due to limited deck space, coaches are not permitted in the Marshal Area, Timing Area, or as directed by Meet Manager. If coach assistance is required for younger relay teams, coaches may enter the Marshal Area. Thank you for your cooperation. Officials: Assistance with officiating is gratefully appreciated. There also a possibility a swim suit vendor onsite. Pasta Plunge: Swimmers are asked to bring a donation of pasta in support of the Parkland Food Bank and to say thanks each donator receives an entry for fabulous Pasta Plunge prize. Draw is during Saturday s lunch.

7 50/50 Draws: Opportunities to participate in draws will occur throughout the meet. Outdoor Meet and Weather: The Shark Tank (Stony Plain Pool) is an outdoor pool. Please prepare for any weather. There is a large grassy area attached to the pool to set up tents. Weather may cause events to be cancelled or postponed. Notice To RV Owners: RVs must park in the lot between the Curling Rink and the Arena (north of the swimming pool). Violators will be tagged by the Town of Stony Plain.
