3 REQUIREMENTS CERTIFICATIONS UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (valid 1 year in NYC) Lifeguard Training (valid 2 years) First Aid (valid 2 years) PRICE (Payment accepted checks & cash) $400 For Lifeguarding/First Aid/ CPR/AED Certification for Non- Gateway Members, $350 For Gateway Members $150 For First Aid/CPR/AED Certification for Non-Gateway Members, $125 for Gateway Members DATES/TIME LOCATIONS Must be at least 15 years old by the class date. Successfully complete written and swim test: Swim 300 yards continuously using 100 yards of front crawl (freestyle), 100 yards of breaststroke and 100 yards of either front crawl or breaststroke. Swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 8 feet, retrieve a 10- pound object, and return to starting point and exit water, within 1 min and 40 sec. Lifeguard training manual, resuscitation mask, bathing suit, paper and pen. Masks are available for purchase from us or you can buy online. (This is a non-profit event. Fees will help cover event costs only including staffing, medals, and pool usage. The rest of the competition expenses will be covered by Gateway Sports & Pools as our way of thanking our loyal members. Swimmers in level #2 and level #3 must register for both events. Swimmers in level #4-level #7 may only register for two or three events. Deadline for Swim Competition Registration: March 5th, No walk in registration on the day of competition. Rules: 1) Swimmers will be grouped according to age (10 & under, 11 and up,) gender, same swim level & event number. 2) Boys can only race against boys and girls can only race against girls. Swimmers cannot participate in a race of different levels. 3) No Food Allowed on the pool deck, only water. 4) Parents must be quiet at the beginning of every race and are not allowed on the pool deck at any time. 5) Parents and family members are welcome to watch from the bleachers, take photos, videos but must be seated at all times. 6) Swimmers must be dressed and on the pool deck at 6:00PM for the warm up. Swimmers who arrive after 6:05PM will not be allowed to swim. 5

6 7) Female swimmers must wear a full swim suit (no two piece suits allowed). Both boys and girls must wear swim caps and goggles. 8) No one is allowed to register for any event on the day of the swim meet. 9) Swimmers in level #2 and level #3 must register for both events.
