2 TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE: The Tournament Commi ee shall have the en re control and management of the tournament, subject to the provisions of the Australian Ranking Tournament Rules and Regula ons. Any ma er not specifically covered in the applicable tournament rules and regula ons shall be resolved by the Commi ee members present, whose decision shall be final. ELIGIBILITY: All entrants (including overseas players) must be currently registered with an Australian State/Territory Associa on and must have a valid 11-digit My Tennis Player ID number. Players who are not so registered will be registered with Tennis Queensland at no extra charge. To receive Na onal Seniors Ranking Points, entrants in Seniors events must be members of Tennis Seniors Queensland or, if from inter-state, must be members of their State s Seniors associa on. Entrants in Seniors events who are not TSQ members may include a payment of $20 for TSQ membership with their entry. AGE EVENT ELIGIBILITY: Entrants in Age events must supply their birth dates and produce their birth cer ficates if requested. Eligibility for Junior events is based on the player s age as at 31 August 2014 (i.e. 18 & Under born 1 September 1995 or later). Senior events are open to players who reach the relevant age at any me during the year of the tournament or earlier (i.e. 35 & Over born 1979 or earlier; 40 & Over born 1974 or earlier; 45 & Over born 1969 or earlier; 50 & Over born 1964 or earlier; 55 & Over born 1959 or earlier; 60 & Over born 1954 or earlier). GRADE EVENT ELIGIBILITY: The listed Fixture grade cut-offs for Round-Robin Grade events are approximate only. Fixture players are required to disclose all relevant informa on about their current Fixtures (organising bodies, compe ons, seasons, team names & grades) and their ITN (if known). Grade event entries without this informa on may not be accepted. Where partners in Grade Doubles events are of different standards, event eligibility shall be decided on the basis of the higher standard. The Commi ee reserves the right to transfer a player to a higher level event if it deems the player to be above the designated standard for the level entered and is not required to give a reason or to advise the player beforehand. If a player is found to have been allowed to play in too low a Grade event because of undisclosed or false informa on about Fixture grades, that player may be defaulted. ENTRIES: Entries must be lodged with all fees by 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, 5 July; except that a postal entry for non AR branking events received a er this date, but prior to the event draw being completed, shall be accepted provided it bears a postmark of Friday, 5 July, or earlier. Entries for the Australian Ranking Points events may only be lodged on-line at h p://tournaments.tennis.com.au with credit card payment. Entries for all other events may be lodged on-line with credit card payment or by using the printed entry form which can be downloaded from h p:// Printed entry forms may be lodged by hand delivery, by post (with cheque, money order or credit card payment authority), by fax to (07) (with credit card payment authority) or as an a achment by to admin@uqtc.org.au (with credit card payment authority). Payments for all events may also be made by Internet Banking directly into the UQ Tennis Club s bank account [Bank: Commonwealth; BSB: ; Account No.: ]. Such payments must be clearly iden fied with the player s name. Entries lodged without payment will not be included in the draw. No player shall be permi ed to enter in more than three events without the express permission of the Tournament Commi ee; and if entered in three events, one must be a Doubles. Players should check on-line that their entries have been received and to verify the events in which they are entered (at h p://tournaments.tennis.com.au). ENTRY FEES: Refer to the List of Events for Entry Fees. The Entry Fees listed are per person and include GST and Tennis Queensland Sanc on Fees. Fees listed if entering on-line include the addi onal Ac venetwork (RegOnline) on-line processing fees. WITHDRAWALS: Players who withdraw from an event a er 11:59 p.m. on Saturday 12 July, or withdraw from an event during the tournament, will be penalised under the TA Code of Behaviour; except in those cases where a medical cer ficate is provided within five days of the withdrawal or other reasonable excuse is provided in wri ng before the end of the tournament. Withdrawal no fica on must be in wri ng (by , fax or post but not SMS). TIME EXEMPTIONS: Players must be available at all mes during the tournament. Any me exemp on requests will be ignored*. The Tournament Time Draw cannot be organised around various players other ac vi es. * Notwithstanding this, requests for me exemp ons because of GPS or QGSSSA Tennis may be considered but only if such requests are made at the me of entry. Players reques ng such a me exemp on are restricted to entering a maximum of 1 Singles event and 1 Doubles event. MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENT: For an event to be conducted, a minimum of four entries will be required. Where there are less than four entries, the entrants will be given the op on of transferring to another event or receiving a refund. QUALIFYING: Qualifying events will be conducted for the Open Men s Singles and Open Ladies' Singles where the draw exceeds 24 entries. Where a Qualifying is used, there will be at least 12 direct acceptances into the Main Draw based on ARs plus up to 4 wildcards (to make a total of 16) with the remaining players compe ng in the Qualifying for the final 8 posi ons in the Main Draw. Qualifying events will be conducted for the 18 & Under Boys' Singles and 18 & Under Girls' Singles where the draw exceeds 32 entries. Where a Qualifying is used, there will be 20 direct acceptances into the Main Draw based on ARs plus up to 4 wildcards (to make a total of 24) with the remaining players compe ng in the Qualifying for the final 8 posi ons in the Main Draw. The maximum size of each Qualifying event will be 128 players. A er commencement of the Qualifying event, vacancies in a Main Draw may only be filled by Lucky Losers from the Qualifying event. CONSOLATIONS & PLAY-OFFS: The Open Men s Singles, Open Ladies Singles, 18 & Under Boys Singles & 18 & Under Girls Singles have SIGN-ON OPTIONAL Consola on events. There will be separate consola on events for the Qualifying Draws and the Main Draws in these events. For a 24-player or 32-player Main Draw, the first and second round losers will be eligible for the Consola on. For a Qualifying Draw, first and second round losers only will be eligible for the Consola on, irrespec ve of the size of the draw. Eligible players for a Main Draw Consola on have un l 5 minutes a er the conclusion of the last match in the second round of the Main Draw to sign on at the Tournament Office for the Consola on. Eligible players for a Qualifying Draw Consola on have un l 5 minutes a er the conclusion of the last match in the second round of the Qualifying Draw to sign on at the Tournament Office for the Consola on. Only those who sign on for the Consola on will be drawn to play. An extra entry fee of $5 will apply for all Consola on events which must be paid when signing-on. Each Consola on will be a new knock-out draw. In the 18 & Under Boys Singles & 18 & Under Girls Singles, the losing Semi-Finalist are required to play-off for 3 rd and 4 th posi ons. There are no Doubles Consola on events. COURT SURFACES: Open, 18 & Under and Special events will be played on hardcourts (Laykold) and cushioned hardcourts (Laykold Cushion). Seniors events will primarily be played on synthe c grass courts. Other events may be played on hardcourts, cushioned hardcourts or synthe c grass courts. MATCHES: Events 1 to 14 shall be played using the Knock-Out format and all matches shall be the best-of-three sets [except in Events 3-5, 8-9 & and all Consola on events where, if the score reaches one set all, the third set shall be replaced by a deciding match e-break (10 points)]. In Events 3-5, 8-9 & 12-14, No-Ad scoring will be used. In any set, if the score reaches six games all, a e-break game shall be played to determine the winner of the set. Events 15 to 46 shall be played using Round-Robin formats. Depending on numbers, players in each event will be split into groups with group winners going on to compete in play-offs to determine the event winner. Match lengths will be determined by the Commi ee prior to play star ng but would normally be one first-to-six-games set with a e-break at five-all or a first-to-nine-games set with a e-break at eight-all. In all events, matches may be scheduled to be played or completed under lights. Depending on entry numbers, some event formats may differ from those adver sed. DOUBLES: All Doubles pairs must enter by 5 July. Where a player enters a Doubles event without nomina ng a partner or where the nominated partner does not enter that event, the Tournament Commi ee reserves the right to pair such players as per the procedures outlined in the Australian Ranking Tournament Rules and Regula ons or to take addi onal sign-on entries but only to complete a pair. DRAW AVAILABILITY: It is each player s responsibility to ascertain the me draw and to be in a endance at the courts at the me(s) set down. For each weekend of play, the me draw should be available on-line by the preceding Wednesday. The Tournament Commi ee will endeavour to no fying players about their first match me in each event by but players will have to check on-line for possible follow-on match mes (at h p://tournaments.tennis.com.au). CHECK-IN & NO-SHOWS: Each player should report to the Tournament Office and have his/her name checked off as being present at least 15 minutes before the scheduled me of each match (or session start me for round-robin events). Any player not ready to play or refusing to play within 15 minutes of his/her match being called may be defaulted. A player defaulted as a No-Show may be permi ed to play in other events, including consola ons, at the discre on of the Referee provided the player contacts the Tournament Office within one hour of the me scheduled for the match. All other players defaulted as a No Show will be taken out of all other events in the tournament, including consola ons. BALLS: Australian Ranking tournaments must use Tennis Australia approved tennis balls. The Wilson Australian Open Tennis ball will be used in this tournament.. ON-LINE RESULTS: It is a condi on of entry that players agree to allow the Tournament Commi ee to publish results (including names and scores) on the Tennis Australia Tournaments Website (h p://tournaments.tennis.com.au). JUNIOR PLAYERS: Tournament Officials are not able to supervise children (i.e. persons under 18 years of age) playing in this Tournament. Entries from juniors are only accepted on the understanding that the supervision and protec on of children during their par cipa on in the University Open Tennis Championships is the responsibility of their parents/guardians and not the Tournament Commi ee and other Tournament Officials. AUSTRALIAN RANKING TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS: By signing acceptance of the entry condi ons when using the printed entry form, par cipants acknowledge and agree that all Tennis Australia policies can be readily viewed at h p:// and that it is his/her responsibility to view these and seek clarifica on, if required, from the Tennis Australia Tournaments & Compe ons Department AND agree to comply with and be bound by the ITF Rules of Play, the Uniform Tennis An -Corrup on Program, the Tennis Australia Code of Behaviour (including its reference to spectator behaviour and interference), the Tennis Australia Member Protec on By-Law, the Tennis Australia An -Doping Policy, the applicable tournament rules and regula ons and any other policies, rules, procedures or regula ons no fied by Tennis Australia to players from me to me.
