Louisville holds the head-to-head advantage so far this year, winning the previous two matches and losing to the Hounds only once in seven games all-time. Pittsburgh enters Saturday in the midst of its longest unbeaten streak of the season at five games (3-0-2). Also the club s longest streak since 2015, a positive result against Louisville will give the Hounds their first six-game unbeaten streak since the 2013 squad staved off defeat for 10 straight matches. The Hounds sit only a point of the conference s top-eight in a packed table that sees a mere two points separate sixth and Pittsburgh s current position, 10th place. In addition to such a tight table, the club is currently in a stretch that sees them face a team in the East s top-10 in five of the six remaining games in Of those six remaining opponents, only one slots below the Hounds in the conference - Ottawa Fury FC (12th place) in the regular season finale on Oct. 14. This weekend s match ramps up the pressure, as Louisville slots in first in the conference with two games in hand. The club holds the best goal differential at plus-21 in the East and has lost only once in its past five matches. Pittsburgh has captured points in six of 11 matches against teams with a winning record (3-5-3). Encouraging note to consider - while the Hounds are the only team in the top-10 of the East with a losing record at home (4-5-3), they are unbeaten in their past three (1-0-2). Extending the home unbeaten streak to four would be the Hounds longest since the 2015 squad wrapped up the season in its final four games at home - that year s side went an impressive overall on the Mon. The club will have plenty of opportunity to further bolster its standing in regards to home record with four of its last six games coming at the friendly confines of Highmark Stadium. Corey Hertzog continued his late-season tear, netting his fourth goal in his last three matches this past Saturday at FC Cincinnati. Leading the Hounds with 11 goals on the season, Hertzog s latest tally also gave him 24 career goals in Black and Gold - the most scored by a U.S.-born player in club history.
